  1. Re: CHELTENHAM~Tuesday 11th March

Ok, here are my E/W selections for today. A few bigger priced animals coupled with some more fancied horses. 2.00 - PASCO - 20/1 Betfred Nicholls' 2nd string but has an ideal profile for the race. Lightly campaigned, winning form and, importantly, a horse that jumps well and goes on the ground. Fit most of the trends too and must have a major E/W chance against some 'talking' horses. 2.35 - TIDAL BAY - 7/1 Betfred This horse does have jumping problems but goes well here and, contrary to beliefs, I think the faster they go, the better. It will concentrate the mind and hopefully improve its jumping. This usually falls to a horse in single figure odds and it pays to look at the best of these over hurdles. Should go close. 3.15 - OSANA - 11/2 Ladbrokes Sub standard renewal of this race and I gave this a big EW chance from the front. Goes ok at Cheltenham, has a 6lb pull for 4L with fav, Sizing Europe, and should get an uncontested lead here. Pipe / Scudamore to bring back the good old days. 4.00 - NEW ALCO - 14/1 Betfred Ferdy Murphy generally has a big priced winner at the Festival and this could well be the one. Been given a break and a good jockey booking. I want to see this horse held up off the pace and then pick them off late. If its jumping holds up and it settles off the pace, I would make this horse a good thing to place, especially as it has course form. 4.40 - GARDE CHAMPETRE - 11/2 Betfred Strong trainer / jockey combo, and this horse won the main trial for the race. Usually falls to one of the leading contenders and I struggle to see this out of the first 3. 5.20 - CRACK AWAY JACK - 12/1 Totesport Has an ideal profile to win here, having won lto and having exactly 3 career starts. Eyecatching jockey booking and a horse that won very well lto. With expected improvement, I make this my EW Nap of the Day. Unbelievable, full credit on your selections, finger on the button. Made a tidy profit. THANKYOU AND WELL DONE :clap:clap:clap:clap
  2. Re: Warwick 9/03/08

4:35 - LIBERIA Represents the stables only runner of the day here Alison Thorpe who is 38% with her hurdlers here. Timmy Murphy is an eyecatching jockey booking for the stable that won this last year. Horse ran as well as could be expected lto after a year off and will be a lot fitter for this. Steps up in trip, is unexposed & at 10/1 Bet365 is a good value e/w bet Great shout backed it EW and it ran a blinder !! Well Done:clap
  3. In a rush to go to game but heres a very quick analysis. Crossmaglen Rangers, once again are up there competing for the coveted All Ireland Club title, and one would have to make them favourites to win this game today against Dublins Vincients. Cross are at almost full strength 2day, Mc conville on fire at the moment, Kernan brothers back fit and both very instrumental in Armaghs recent win over cavan, Cross I believe will grind out a result as they usually do and wear Vincients down , expect close game and cross to win by 1-2 points 9/2 boylesports.

Firstly im new t all this but ive got a few what i call "BANKERS":loon chelsea away in greece will be no problem olympiakos havent got the minerals to put it up to chelsea who i think will win comfortably 2-0 drogba and anelka to shine im on wright phillips anytime scorer if he starts well have to wait till later to see.. inter and pool shud be a good game but il just have to lean towards inter, liverpool have it all to play 4 now and theyll need a result to bring to italy cant see it happenin to be honest also get on ibrahimovic to score anytime (7pts) Arsenal and milan is a dodgy 1 even tho im a UTD fan:tongue2 i regret sayin this but i think the ******* arsenal will see off milan with adebayor to grab a goal and their star man fabregas to shine on the big stage. And my bet off the century surely has to be Barca to beat the terrible terrible celtic who are goin nowhere in scotland or champ league id be tempted to give celts a 2 goal lead and let the cash come rollin in.. Chelsea to beat olympiakos 8/10 Inter to beat pool 6/10 Arsenal to beat milan 8/10 Barca to beat terrible celtic 10/10 GET ON :hope:gimme
Ignorance is bliss, obviously not idea of Celtics past conquests at parkhead, I can only hope you are tempted to give Celtic a two goal lead as I beleive you will get your just rewards and maybe think twice before posting unjustified rubbish. Regardless of the outcome resoning is supposed to be objective and yours is blind. 5. Re: UEFA Cup - 29th November After reading A Madrids team I firmly believe that they have to much class for a very ordinary Aberdeen team. Home win Does anyone know what sort of team Getafe are going to produce tonight, on paper I would say this is a mis match and home win but how seriously are they taking this game ?? My bets tonight, pending on team news are Spurs, A Madrid and Getafe

  6. Re: UEFA Cup - 29th November I think spurs will win tonite, here the presumed line up to date and a couple of facts i pulled of about the opposition. I think the team tonight is as follows --------------------Robinson------------------ --Stalteri----Chimbonda---Dawson---------Bale- --Lennon--------Jenas------Zokora-------Steed- ---------------Berbatov----Keane-------------- Some facts on Aalborg, courtesy of the spurs website. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tonight's opponents Aalborg BK (AaB) are currently undefeated in this season's UEFA Cup and joint-top of the Danish Superliga with FC Copenhagen. Here are a few more facts on our third opponents in the group stages... - AaB have drawn their only match to date in the group stages of the UEFA Cup, a 1-1 result at home against RSC Anderlecht. - AaB coach, Erik Hamren, is optimistic about their prospects at White Hart Lane. "My philosophy is that everything is possible. If you believe it, and you’re working hard for it together, then it’s possible." - They finished third in the Superliga to claim a UEFA Intertoto Cup place. They emerged as one of the eleven winners of the summer competition to earn a UEFA Cup berth. - They reached the group stages by beating Serie A giants Sampdoria over two legs in the first round. - AaB had previously never progressed beyond the first round of the UEFA Cup in three attempts prior to this season. - Prior to that, their biggest achievement in Europe was reaching the 1995/96 UEFA Champion’s League group stage. - AaB’s only experience of English opponents came in a 1966/67 European Champion Club’s Cup first round tie against Everton FC. They drew 0-0 at home but lost 2-1 on Merseyside in the return. - AaB defender Michael Jakobsen made a solitary appearance for PSV Eindhoven in two seasons at the club between 2003 and 2005. Tottenham’s Korean left-back Lee Young-Pyo was at the Dutch club at the same time. - AaB have lost just four of 17 games in their domestic Superliga and are level on points with FA Copenhagen. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aalborgs goalkeeper, had one season in the 2nd Bundesliga, and that team was relegated. It is generally thought that he is their best player. So the quality isn't there, but the results of their other matches do not lie, they will be well organised and tough to break down, and they will be looking ofr the draw. Expect them to play a 9-1-0 formation. Some news from Hamburg Almost full strength Huub Stevens will be able to pick from an almost full strength squad, with the exception of striker Paolo Guerrero who is still out of action with a stomach bug and breathing problems. Stevens is expected to keep faith with the team which cruised to a 2-0 Bundesliga home win over Hansa Rostock last weekend. Possible line-ups: HSV: Rost - Benjamin, Reinhardt, Mathijsen, Atouba - Jarolim, Kompany - Castelen, van der Vaart, Trochowski - Olic Stade Rennes: Pouplin - Edman, Borne, Hansson, Fanni - Sorlin, Cheyrou, Leroy - Wiltord, Thomert, Pagis

  7. Re: Champions League Oct 2 - Oct 3

I had a big laugh when I saw price on Sevilla. Spanish team odd are really shitty and i wont touch this game at all. On the other side, i fancy Lyon, Manchester United and Arsenal to win so my treble for tomorrow will be Steaua - Arsenal 2 Lyon - Rangers 1 Man.Utd - Roma 1 I think Arsenal is fairly priced in this game and will take them to win. With very good domestic record (1st in premiership) and some very talented players in Fabregas, Adebayor, Van persie etc. I think Arsenal just have too much quality for Steaua. I give Arsenal about 60% chance to win and this is my weakest bet for tomorrow. Lyon for me is a very good home team and will try to prove themselves in CL couse in Le Championat they are doing pretty bad. The visitors, Rangers, managed to win on their home ground in glasgow but I rate them as typical home team (almost as Celtic) and they will not look to take much from this game especially considering that Lyon is desperate to win here. So, home win with large stakes here. And my favourite team Man.Utd is playing with Roma in front of their loud support at theatre of dreams. Im confident in Red Devils win here couse in players like Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, and old school Scholes, Giggs , Ferdinand, Manchester finally have a competitive team to challenge for CL winners this year. Roma on the other side, got trashed by Inter in Serie A so their moral will probably be very low, plus the fact that Roma lost on Old Trafford last year 7:1 , i thin Roma will be frightened ! Home win with medium stakes. Anyway, GL to you all with CL
:ok Agree 100 % with your selections, and your reasoning, just the double for me as I only back HOMES, so Man U and Lyon all the way pays approximately 7-4 and I can't see past this!!
  8. Re: Inside Info! I have only recently visited this thread and personally I like all good punters love a bit of inside information. I am involved in the gambling game and get tips all the time - what defines a good tip generally depends on the guys who give it to me. Some are crap and some are red hot. One guy I know gives me at least five tips a week, he doesnt know it but I usually ignore them all, he usually gets about one in eight right. Another I know gets about half right and another I know has about an 80% hit rate. At the end of the day we have the information that this site generates ( which I think is excellent and for those that contribute - Hats off - great job ) and then we have what people claim to have inside info. Join the two and then it is down to ourselves to decide if it is worth while listening to these insiders. We've all given out tips that have lost and there is nothing worse than getting your nose rubbed in it as most people only do it to gain the creditability. I wouldn't knock anyone for giving me a bad tip I would probably just avoid their selections. In the case of Bowles I beieve that he has creditable information as proven and yes I would take his selections seriously. How serious would really depend on the sites analysis if any and my own opinion and of course their track record. Haitch your points are without doubt valid and I agree the site could easily lose its direction but I feel once properly established this thread may well attract three or four new punters to the site who simply are in the circle of knowledge, from which we may well benefit and as for the rest we may just choose to ignore. The thread probably just needs to be groomed a little better and guys like Haitch, Russ Rio etc are the best men to do this as Racing is their thing Anyway, Hope it all works out Ps Thanks Bowles for your winner today, and yesterday made tidy profit.

  9. Re: Mastering the art of beating the bookie

Chelsea were away' date=' so did not qualify![/quote'] Correct - Sorry , had Chelsea, Tottenham Scunthorpe and Rangers in my head on another Thread I am working on, and it was late and got mixed up. Thanks for the reminder only hope your as quick to post your suggestions and formula in the future. This is probably one of the reasons why so many people view the site but dont post their threads, as I read more guys having a pop over silly mistakes when someone is just trying to explain some logic, my examples were only to make the thread understandable, they were not pivitol to the arguement. Sorry to complain but I believe this formula is a runner, it has worked for me and with the proper team news being submitted throughout the leagues I know this will reap returns.

  11. Re: Mastering the art of beating the bookie Thanks for the vote of confidence, but it much depends on team news to make it work properly. One of the main reasons why I feel it is pivital to have a thread just for this eg Chelsea is the perfect example, before u would have lumped on them almost reguardless , without John Terry we think twice, Arsneal without Henry, Utd without Ronaldo and the scenerio goes on. Can someone start this thread within the footie section as I dont know how ??

  12. I have been betting for a long time and I know there are many theories as to how to pick football teams to win money, but call me thick many I just cant get my head around so I have been trying to find a simple formula which all can understand and hopefully beat our mutual friend the bookie. My method has been running now for approx 6 weeks and I have had healthy returns for four of those. ( lost my standard stake for two of those. ) My Principles : I only back Home wins I never back a team if they have lost their last game I never back against a team who won their last game If a team sacks their manager and re-instates a new one I will not back against them. I always try and back in Form against bad form Team news is essential You might say well that really narrows down the search, well take last saturday for example there were no less than 5 teams that fitted that criteria. This is particularly high, personally I am happy if I can find 3. Sats examples were Stirling, Queens Park, Chelsea, M K Dons (4 draws in a row but last 2 they really should have won ) Rochdale I ususally do a few doubles, and maybe a treble generally with one banker in all bets, for example last week Queens Park were in all my lines. This has to be water tight and well thankfully it turned out that way. In order to successfully keep picking winners it is essential to have up-to-date team news, I have found this really beneficial espicially in Scotland which I have my greatest success. I search for the info myself but it would be so much easier if there was a thread within the footie section allocated just for team news with an emphasis on whos important thats out, we all know the premership players so we can work that out for ourselves but 3rd Division scotland I'm lost. If anyone has any ideas I'd like to hear them , like I said this theory does work but many hands make light work and I believe with the right work this could yield serious dividends. :ok await your comments

  13. Re: Leopardstown 14/01 Dont mean to put anyone of betting on Lenery but connections in the last few days do not seem as confident, they are however more interested in their other horse Well Mounted, tough race to call with a lot of good runners but the latest word is on Quatre Heures Rubys mount. Sorry this reply should probably have been put in another tread but going to Lep town now and in a rush. Hope this helps.

  14. Re: UEFA Cup (Nov 2) Having a poor week so far and see thursdays fixtures as a great opportunity to gt out of jail Need views on the Spurs match, how gd are Brugge and what sort of line up are Spurs about to play with the Chelsea lurking around the corner??

  15. Re: Champions League (Nov 1) Write Celtic off at your leisure, they r in gd domestic form and anyone who knows about the Celts will be able to tell ya they r capable of anything on their day, they want qualification more than anything and I believe if the Ports do win, they'll have to work their socks of , anything less and expect to c the bhoys in the next round.!! Hail Hail
