  1. Re: Sweden, Allsvenskan 17 - 19/6 I'm going to take Kalmar today as I just have a feeling they can win this one. The Allsvenskan isn't a league I know particularly well but last season Kalmar won me a few big priced away wins- as did Freiburg in the Bundesliga 2. From a betting point of view Goteborg have done the opposite for me this year losing me a few low priced bets. Kalmar have started the season fairly strongly and racked up a 3-0 win away to Goteborg last season. Back then I saw them as a better side away from home than at home so I'm hoping that will continue this season.

  2. Re: UEFA Cup semis 26/4 (1st leg) I'll be backing Sevilla tonight. Osasuna played well against Rangers over the 2 legs I saw them but Rangers were not up to much. Their win away to Leverkusen was impressive but to be honest Leverkusen were getting pumped in the league at that time too. A good side Osasuna but I think Sevilla are better. I've seen a few Sevilla matches recently and of what I have seen they have been a better side away from home. In the first half at White Heart Lane they were brilliant and although they were dominated in the second half you can expect that with a 4-1 advantage. It was they away game against Deportivo La Coruna though that really impressed me. They should have won by more than 3-0 and if they play like that again tonight it won't matter what Osasuna do. The had pace in attack and a fantastic work rate- I was bery impressed.

  3. Re: UEFA Cup (Nov 2) I wasn't going to post on this one as I know my heart will always rule my had but I feel Rangers will win tonight's match. It will be tight but I cannot see them losing it. The style of football they are playing at the moment is more suited to the European stage. In the SPL there is no time and space but in Tuscany we saw that when they get that they can play some very good football. Rangers have not been doing well in the SPL but in Europe they have lost only 1 of their last 13 games. That was the 1-0 defeat away to Inter last season. Only 4 of those games have been wins though- Anorthosis (2-1a), Anorthisis (2-0h) Porto (3-2h), Molde(2-0h) and Livorno(3-2a). At present they are on an unbeaten run of 9 games and will be looking to make it 10 tonight. It's also worth noting that this decade Rangers have only lost 3 games out of the 26 matches at Ibrox in Europe- Man U (0-1h), Panathanikos (1-3h) and Auxerre (0-2h). The latter two happened in final group games that they had to get a draw from. Tonight that pressure is not on. I don't know enough about Maccabi Haifa to say Rangers will definitely win this one and when I saw them against Liverpool they looked a very capable side. I just don't see Rangers losing this game though and would have to edge towards a home win. It would be fair to say that Le Guen's experience is better suited to this match at the moment than the SPL. Clement and Bardsley are back for Rangers. They were included in the weekend squad but did not feature. Rangers are still without Sionko, Burke and Martin which leaves them limited options on both wings. Rangers are also without Sasa Papac as he is cup tied. I'd imagine they will go 4-3-3 like they did against Livorno. I think the team will look like the following but alot will depend on whether Prso plays over Novo, Bardlsey plays over Hutton and whether Clement comes in for Adam: uefagsm2_team_pre.jpg

  4. Re: CL matches Wed 27/09 I had a poor night. Tuesday was a false dawn as it was very predictable but tonight was not so. Bremen have been awful this season and after not backing Lyon the night before I thought it would be silly not to back Barca at evens. I didn't see the match but was very surprised by the result, more so wit Messi only grabbing an equaliser late on. Like alot of people I think the Shakhtar-Olympiakos game caught me out. Both sides on past European form appear to be decent home sides that don't travel well but that was not the case last night. A wise man would have backed over 2.5 goals given that they both lost 4 on day one but I'm not that wise. A bad, bad night. Wiped out my profits from Tuesday but that's the way it goes.

  5. Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 14th Sept Molde-Rangers Just some news on Rangers really who I will be backing. With Stefan Klos not back from injury and Lionel Letizi out with injuty Allan McGregor will play in goal. He's no longer a youngster but this still may be a test for him. The back pairing of Sevensson and Rodriguez are still a little shakey. In the last two home games Rangers have kept clean sheets but they have not kept a clean sheet away from Ibrox. In total they have lost 4 goals in their 3 away games this season. This pairing, there is no replacement with Papac being cup-tied, along with the 3rd choice keeper in goal is Rangers' weak point. Where Rangers are excelling is on the attacking front. They have scored two goals in all bar one of their games this season and that was the 1-1 draw away to Dunfermline. Kris Boyd has scored 5 goals in his last 3 starts while Buffel, Purso and Sionko are capable of chipping in too with 5 goals between them. I expect Rangers to win this one but that's probably my heart ruling my head. For the neutral punter I'd think over 2.5 goals is a decent bet. Only 2 of Rangers 6 games this season have had fewer than 3 goals in them (1-1 Dunfermline, 2-0 Hearts).

  6. Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 14th Sept

Atromitos v Seville game has been removed from the Bet365 listings!
Hopefully it might pop back as I want to put some money on Seville tomorrow. I think they are in fantastic form at the moment and obviously already know the road to success in this competition. Bet365 has been a bit slow for me today at times. For the first time too I had an error in my selection- I chose an anytime scorer and a HT/FT popped up. The guy online voided my bet though which was nice- as long as Real Madrid don't win HT/FT. ;)
  7. Re: CL matches 13/09 Alot of games look like they could go either way tonight. There is really not alot between the majority of the sides in my view. I've taken Manchester United -1, Milan -1 and Porto tonight as they look to me the 3 most capable of a win. Elsewhere though with a bit of luck there are some big prices to be picked up. Good luck to everyone. :ok
