  1. Re: Darts: BDO World Championships I must say I thought Fitton was impressive in the first round, but that was another very solid performance. I had a look at his averages from the Winmau earlier today and he averaged 30+ in every round, and has done so here so far. Robson should have posed some sort of threat but Fitton just did not let him in.

  2. Re: Darts: BDO World Championships nearest the bull, great days...id just be interested to know if this is known before the players walk out as ive never seen a toss up or a 'nearest the bull competition' take place. I did think it might be whoever gets the highest score in the warm up!!! but I think thats as funny as nearest the bull!

  3. Re: Snooker: World Championships What would you do in my situation, I backed ebdon at 36 at the start of the tournament, amazingly I also had a small bet on dott at 80's but closed this out at the start of the ronnie match! DOH! Anyway, now that Ebdon is down to 1.7 do you think I should close out for a healthy profit, and enjoy the final? OR let it run...I didnt see this mornings session, and im not sure what to do.

  4. Re: Next England manager Some valid points there Paul. Whether it is deemed a good idea or not, the FA will try to avoid another media circus with the next england manager, so this combination is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility. Maybe they should get Tony Blair in when he steps down as prime minister?! LOL. I do think the FA are under some pressure to appoint an English manager, which would rule out the likes of Hiddink and Hitzfeld (as good as their credentials are). Which leads us to look at the English candidates. Robson(Bryan), McClaren and Taylor haven't done much at the domestic level, but looking at other candidates, neither has Pearce, Allardyce or Jewell (in terms of silverware), please correct me if im wrong. With the exception of Allardyce perhaps, experience at the highest domestic level is lacking. Given the chance, Bobby Robson could bridge the gap in experience until the end of the next Euro's and then he should be more than ready to retire. I think this too is a feasible option which may not be popular but logical to the FA in the long term. Although, if its about money, the FA will not take kindly to paying two top salaries. Would the bookies pay out on two manager's in this instance? P.S. Dont they decide the England team by comitee in Cricket? Please excuse my ignorance its a sport I know nothing about.

  5. Re: Next England manager I never know what the situation is with the bookies if two managers are appointed as a managerial partnership? Do the bookies pay out on both managers? I could see this as a feasible possibility. As mentioned earlier, nobody really jumps out at you in the list of candidates, so for this reason perhaps a younger more inexperienced manager in a combination with a managerial mentor such as Bobby Robson, someone who could school any up and coming manager into the role. Alternatively, It was suggested on sky sports that a managerial team should be put in place in the form of one coach/tactician and a spokesperson/media relations person to deal with the onslaught of tabloid interviews and antics. In light of Svens recent comments, I actually thought this was a good idea. Which leads me back to my original question, if say Alan Shearer and Bobby Robson took over as England managerial team, would they pay out on both?

  6. Re: Darts - BDO World Championships He is a Klaas act! laying the heavy favourite appears to be a good strategy for the second round. Whenever I post I thought Hanvidge was excellent again last night, even though he lost the first two sets. I didnt see Atkins' first round match and no nothing about him...other than the comments on this thread. Backing Atkins @ 3.7 in the hope that he can get off to a good start in my head seems like the sensible selection. How do you assess Atkins chances this evening against Martin Adams?

  7. Re: Darts - BDO World Championships After the great tip from Gaz, it seems to me that Whitlock is now overrated by the bookies, a stingy 1.2 to beat Hanvidge. Whilst I was impressed with Whitlock, I was also very impressed with Hanvidge against Co Stompe yesterday. My head is telling me to lay Whitlock in the next round, but then again my head is always telling me to do stupid things. How would you assess the above Gaz, I could quite easily be talking out of my arse, I just think Hanvidge played equally as well, arguably against better opposition.

  8. Re: Spreadman's Double sell System - Today's tips It worries me that Owen is not playing as Ameobi is replacing him...whilst not a prolific scorer, with a shirt number of 23 a goal from him and theres no real margin for profit! However the stats suggest a low scoring game, no more than 2 goals but hopefully less. so im hoping for a smash and grab get in and out by half time! Fingers crossed.

  9. Re: Spreadman's Double sell System - Today's tips I traded this at half stakes, not sure where you got to sell at 38, the best I could get before kick off was 36, but anyway no matter because ive traded out for a 14 point profit. I remember Wolves turning me over last Friday where they scored 3 second half goals to bring me back level after the match ended. This doesnt sound so bad but I distinctly remember rubbing my hands together at half time at the potential profits coming my way...how wrong I was. I cant let that happen again, this weekend is all about damage limitation so ill happily take the modest profit made on this match.

  10. Re: Spreadman's Double sell System - Today's tips Ive been following this system with half stakes and had a feeling the Wigan/Arsenal game would be an open one. But, a system is a system and picking and choosing is not in the spirit of it so there we go! A minor glitch, but im confident this system is very much a winning one and have every faith in it. Roll on West Brom/Everton!!
