Re: Circus Poker Las Vegas team Challenge Not looking good for me tonight, i just tried to deposit on circus through neteller and it said it was currently unavailable. So i thought i would have a log in my neteller account and when i try to log in it says my account has been disabled to protect my personal information! So the chances of me getting this sorted in time are remote, but good luck guys.:ok

Re: Circus Poker Las Vegas team Challenge Received the following. "Dear Poker Player, Congratulations you have qualified for the Las Vegas Team Challenge Live Final, at Circus Casino, Star City, Birmingham. In planning the final event, with 194 players, we’d like your opinion as to whether you would like a 1 day final or 2 day final, whilst we want to create a good poker tournament with a decent structure and many players have asked for a two day event, we also appreciate that some players would prefer a single day event. This is your event, so it should be up to the players to make the decision, after all, it then creates an event which is right for you. We would like your opinion on the structure of the final – please respond with your choice, by no later than 5pm on Sunday 30th January 2011. Choice A: Two day event, running 2pm Saturday 19th February to 01:15am, restarting on Sunday 20th February at 2pm. 45 Minute Levels, with an exclusive Freeroll on Day 2 for eliminated players, offering £2300 worth of prizes including a £1500 Palm Beach Big Game seat package. Choice B: One day event, running 2pm Saturday 19th February until it ends 30 Minute Levels, no freeroll (as it would not run into a second day) Simply reply to this email, making it clear whether your choice is A (two day) or B (one day). Please ensure your reply is sent before 5pm on Sunday 30th January 2011, your vote will be confidential. Once we have collated your views, and counted the votes, we’ll issue the official invitation and confirm the levels." Think I prefer a 2 day event. With a 1 day if you run well, will be playing late stages in the early hours of sunday. Plus 2 day offers the additional freeroll. Welcome any views before I vote.

Re: Circus Poker Las Vegas team Challenge Received the following confirmation for the final. Dear Player, OFFICIAL INVITATION Congratulations, you have qualified for the Las Vegas Team Challenge Live Final, you are eligible to join your team, and will be able to play for the chance to win the team prize – a fabulous Las Vegas holiday package worth over $34,000! During the league we collected $31,445 in retained tournament entries, so we’ve added an overlay of just over $3,500 to make the first prize value up to $34,000! Please see the full list of qualified players at the foot of this email. After lots of requests regarding the scheduling of the Live Final, we put the decision out to vote, so the players could help create an event that was right for the majority. The result of the vote was: 16% in favour of a 1 day final 84% in favour of a 2 day final The response was superb, thanks to everyone who voted. Las Vegas Team Challenge Live Final Date / Time: Day 1 – Saturday 19th February 2010 – 2:00pm (play to c.01:15am) Day 2 – Sunday 20th February 2010 – 2:00pm Venue: Circus Casino, Star City, Watson Road, Birmingham, B7 5SA, +44 (0) 121 327 8008 Circus Casino Star City is one of the largest casinos in Europe and is located on a large leisure park which includes restaurants, cinema, gym, climbing wall, shops and even a crazy golf course! Within the Casino you’ll find all the usual table games and slot machines, a bar, restaurant and plenty of cash poker action to keep those eliminated players happy! Please bring ID to the casino, as you will need to join before you are able to play, aim to arrive from 12noon to give yourselves plenty of time to do this. Accommodation: The are lots of hotels within a 5 to 10 minute taxi ride of Circus Casino, Star City, they include: Hampton By Hilton, Star City: http://hamptoninn.hilton.co.uk/birminghamstarcity Campanile Birmingham: http://www.campanile-birmingham.co.uk Premier Inn Birmingham Central East: http://www.premierinn.com/en/hotel/BIRMTI/birmingham-central-east?cmp=GLBC Day Spring Hotel: http://www.hoteldayspring.co.uk/ Laterooms also lists 74 hotels that have availability for 19th & 20th February (as of 9am this morning) within 5 miles of B7 5SA: http://www.laterooms.com/en/Hotels.aspx?k=b7 5sa Starting Stacks: Starting stacks will be dependant on the number of points your team earn. Every player will start with a base level of 6000 chips, which will then be topped up as per the following calculation: “Team Points / 6”. So if your team earns 40,000 points, each of your team players will start with 12675 chips (6000 + (40000/6) rounded up to nearest 25). Note regardless of how many players are in your team or how many players made it to Star City, Team Points will always be divided by 6. The full list of teams and their relevant starting stacks is listed at the foot of this email. Levels: With 45 minute levels and a good structure, we believe there will be plenty of poker play in this tournament, this will be no crapshoot! The full breakdown of levels is, again, at the foot of this email. Player ID cards: The seat draw will be done prior to your arrival, to prevent players from the same team being on the same starting table. Therefore your seat draw will be posted up on the notice boards in and around the poker room. On the table at your seat you will find your Chip Stack and a player ID card detailing your Name, Nickname and Team. The card must always remain on the table, even during breaks or at the end of Day 1. It must be left visible, name side up. Team Wear: If your team want to turn up wearing T-Shirts, Jumpers, Hats etc of the same colours, or sports tops of the same style / team, then feel free to do so. We are happy for players to wear football tops for this tournament if it helps with the team ethos. Breaking Tables and Team Play: This is a team poker tournament, therefore players from the same team cannot be drawn on the same starting table, however, after that tables will be broken as normal. Once players from the same team are on the same table, they should play the game properly, after all there is an extra, individual prize to play for…see further down. Railing players are actively encouraged to shout instructions at their team members, especially as the tournament draws to a conclusion. Extra Prizes: The individual winner of the Live Event will win a £1500 package to a Palm Beach Big Game of their choice, the package consists of £1080 Seat & Fee and £420 for Hotel & Travel. The Palm Beach Big Game takes place on the first Monday of every month. That’s not all! On Sunday at 3pm, we’ll host a live freeroll for all Vegas Team Challenge eliminated players, where the prize structure will be as follows: 1st Palm Beach Big Game Seat Package worth £1500 2nd £500 Online Poker Credit 3rd £250 Online Poker Credit 4th to 6th £100 Online Poker Credit This extra side event game might be self deal, dependant on the number of players, but it’s a freeroll, so what more do you expect! Bounty Players: Not satisfied with giving away all of that, the Athletico Genting Team will be playing the Live Final as bounty players. We’ll be clearly identifiable – via our Player ID cards and Genting Poker patches, and if you knock one of us out, you’ll earn £100 Poker Credit. Whilst Athletico Genting can’t actually win the Vegas Holiday, we have some serious pride at stake, not to mention some side bets between team members, so we are playing it seriously! In the exceptionally unlikely event that we do win the Live Event, the team finishing second will ‘win’. It’s not going to happen, but some of you have asked! You can find full details of the Levels and Starting Stacks at the foot of this email. If you have any questions about the Live Final, then please do not hesitate to ask. See you on the 19th, Good Luck! So we are starting with 8425 chips. With blinds starting at 25/50 and 45 min levels plenty of time to catch up the top teams. who are on 12 to 13,000.

Re: Circus Poker Las Vegas team Challenge

looks a great deal. not sure though - think i may book hampton at the casino for ease of stumbling as holiday inn does not have a car park and i am only coming for one night.
My original plan was based on babysitters (lack of) but after an amazing turn of events around I can take the girlfriend now :nana . We have sorted out a room at the hampton so all is good. I assume the team "shirts" of PL hoodies will not be for all .... unless anyone has any news :hope Lets take it down and we can all plan for Vegas then :cheers

Re: Circus Poker Las Vegas team Challenge Looking at the points system for the vegas tournament this saturday, it looks like around 300 points will win it. As their is no points premium for winning the tournement then strategy will be different than in a normal tournament. As only the top 4 team players get points the following finish will probably earn enough points to win it. 5,16,34 and 47th will produce 302 points. So we will need to play it more like a satellite tournament than a freezeout. Several of us have gone deep in the earlier vegas tournements and with the deep stack structure I think it gives us a real chance. Their will be a number of people who haven't played big live tournements. In the Betfair live last weekend a number of online players were pushing with marginal hands early on and busting when we were only at levels 3 or 4 with the blinds at only 75/150 and with most people still sitting on $10,000 plus stacks. Points Scoring: The winning team will be the team that wins the most points during the Live Final. Points are awarded as follows:

Re: Circus Poker Las Vegas team Challenge Good luck guys and we may see you around at the weekend - we're all in the Hilton across the road. We are in a good position as chippies just shy of 14K but as you can say it doesn't take a lot to turn it around and you have a good enough team to do so (except for Dave obv :tongue2).
