Market Movers Thread (+58.69 Points to Level Stakes)

Recommended Posts

I will post some market movers that might interest some people here. Good to catch a big gamble early if possible, hopefully some people might find value with some of them!! 1 Point win on all at SP Distant Times - Sligo 6:05 20/1 into 5/1 Looked to have gone the wrong way temperament wise when last seen in 2008 and best swerved on belated return Suzhou - Kempton 9:10 6/1 into 11/4 Signs of promise when not knocked about in maidens at Doncaster (2-y-o for Tom Dascombe) and Lingfield. Better expected switched to handicaps, but assessor taken no risks, and drawn 1. Archies Wish - Sedgefield 3:45 25/1 into 14/1 Little form in bumper/over hurdles and switch to chasing needs to bring about dramatic improvement Humourous - Sedgefield 4:45 25/1 into 12/1 Front runner who looked resurgent when third at Wetherby in April, but gone backwards at a rate of knots since and leap of faith needed to lend support now.

Re: Market Movers Thread Aidymac, could you please not edit your posts so much. Just causes problems, just repost any changes mate:ok Also Moderators can see all edits and the 1pt win on all selections was only added on the fifth edit, after Archies Wish had won, which is only fair to point out.

Archies Wish was the first horse to run out of the 4 and it ran a cracker on its chase debut, winning @ 16/1. (in touch, ridden after 3 out, went 3rd last, chased leader on extended flat, led inside final furlong, stayed on well opened 14/1) and could possibly go on to win its next outing after such a dominant display today. +16 Points Humourous was possibly the unlucky horse of the 4 as it was well backed and was absolutely tanking when impeded by a faller where it lost lots of lengths and the horse just seemed to give up then (prominent, badly hampered and lost place 5th, behind after, tailed off opened 16/1 touched 18/1), finished 10th of 11 and is a horse for the notebook. -1 Point Distant Times travelled well for a long way and even went to 2/1 in running about 3 furlongs out (chased leaders, 3rd halfway, ridden 2f out, no extra in 4th entering straight, kept on same pace touched 11/1) and finished 7th of 16, again goes into the notebook. -1 Point Suzhou was probably the best backed horse of the day but disappointed very much, finishing last of 8 after being backed into 9/4 favourite. Holland took the horse along the outside for the whole race, i feel the horse didnt have the race run to suit today and this horse will definately have to be watched, again into the notebook. -1 Point Bets 4 Wins 1 Places (N/A) 0 Losses 3 Points Staked 4 Points Returned 17 Points Profit/Loss +13

Re: Market Movers Thread Red River Boy - Catterick 4:20 14/1 into 13/2 Modest performer who hasn't won since June 2008. Percentage call to oppose once again. 1 Point win @ 9/1 (WilliamHill) BOG Cheyenne Chant - Catterick 4:50 12/1 into 13/2 Had to be dropped into a claimer and blinkered to rediscover her form over C&D last month (claimed from Sir Mark Prescott). Little impact sole start since, and tongue tie now called into action. 1 Point win @ 8/1 (Bet365) BOG Solar Spirit - Catterick 5:25 5/1 into 11/4 Hard to catch right but has run well on his last 2 starts. Been off since slipping up after the line when again runner-up over C&D in May. 1 Point win @ 10/3 (VictorChandler) BOG Quattrocento - Ffos Las 7:20 12/1 into 6/1 Jumped better than is usually the case when fourth to Sea Wall here on return from a 3-month break last time, but needs more to win this and optimistic to think he'll be error free again. 1 Point win @ 8/1 (Boylesports) BOG

Re: Market Movers Thread Fantastic day today. Red River Boy was the first to run and showed a great turn of foot in the final furlong to win by a comfortable neck. Money landed. +9 Points Cheyenne Chant also ran a blinder, was very well backed and prevailed to win by 2 lengths, was never really threateded, super front-running ride by De Sousa. +8 Points. Solar Spirit went off favourite and to my disgust his stable-mate Mr Wolf went on to win at 14/1. A fiddle or what? Lol. Solar Spirit finished 3rd in the end, a place. One for the notebook. -1 Point. Quattrocento was terrible to watch, jumping was just awful and never really got into the race and finished down the field. One for the notebook again as it must be thought of at home with all the money that went on it today. -1 Point. Re: Market Movers Thread The Mighty Mod - Ayr 4:10 10/1 into 11/2 Signs of temperament during short career, and little room for manoeuvre off current low mark judged on recent efforts. No improvement for headgear last time and opposable once more. 1 Point win @ 6/1 (Bet365) BOG Lees Anthem - Ayr 4:40 8/1 into 7/2 Won at Musselburgh in April and good efforts when runner-up next 3 starts. Back in the winning groove following a quiet spell over 5f here on Wednesday, but work to do under a penalty up in trip. 1 Point win @ 9/2 (Bet365) BOG Bourse - Ayr 5:15 12/1 into 6/1 Best effort this season came over C&D when fourth (behind Red Skipper) but work to do even on that run, and latest eighth at Musselburgh was a step in the wrong direction. 1 Point win @ 15/2 (Paddypower) BOG Forgotten Army - Lingfield 4:30 16/1 into 7/1 Won 7f Newmarket maiden at 2 yrs and shaped well in strong York handicap on return. Disappointing in similar event at Pontefract in June, though, showing an ungainly head carriage and hanging. 1 Point win @ 9/1 (Stanjames) BOG

Lees Anthem a non-runner Aidy - watching this thread with much interest - cheers and good luck :ok
I just noticed that there mate. I would have been surprised if he ran again today after the hard ride he was given yesterday. Only 3 for todays so, thanks mate appreciated. :D

Re: Market Movers Thread Not a great day today. The Mighty Mod was first to run and if you backed it e/w you would have been content as it finished 3rd @ 9/2. Notebook Forgotten Army never really threatened and plugged on for 5th. But will have to keep on the right side of it due to the money put down on it. Notebook. Bourse just failed to get into the places after being backed all day, finished 4th in the end, no match for the winner. Re: Market Movers Thread Tillietudlum - Thirsk 2:10 14/1 into 6/1 Won 3 times over hurdles in 2009/10 and added 5 more to tally since returned to Flat in May. Holding form well judged on recent fourth at Pontefract, but others better treated for now. 1 Point win @ 15/2 (Paddypower) BOG Down The Dale - Wexford 4:55 9/1 into 9/2 Verging on fairly useful over hurdles nowadays and some promise in 3 starts on the Flat. Looks well-treated from this mark and is accorded respect. 1 Point win @ 11/2 (Bet365) BOG

Re: Market Movers Thread Desert Phantom - Epsom 3:10 16/1 into 7/1 Listed winner at 2 yrs, but no show on sole start in 2009. Not disgraced at York last time, an effort which suggests he retains ability, plus handicap mark is falling. 1 Point win @ 9/1 (Stanjames) BOG King Columbo - Epsom 5:30 8/1 into 4/1 In decent enough heart, usually thereabouts bar below-par effort at Salisbury on penultimate start. Suspect attitude, though, and more likely than not that he'll find a couple too good here. 1 Point win @ 5/1 (Bet365) BOG Mango Music - Newcastle 6:15 8/1 into 9/2 Won at Haydock in June 2009 off 6 lb higher mark so potentially well treated starting out for Richard Fahey, having left Mick Quinn since last seen in January. Interesting. 1 Point win @ 6/1 (Bet365) BOG Murphys Beau - Cartmel 2:55 14/1 into 17/2 Poor maiden whose jumping usually falls well short of the necessary standard. Left Sue Smith, and hard to make a case for on belated reappearance. 1 Point win @ 11/1 (Williamhill) BOG Dazakhee - Ripon 5:20 7/1 into 7/2 Improved since turn of year, landing 1m handicap at Southwell and good efforts since. Did well from wide draw when strong-finishing third at Chester when last seen 2 months ago. Leading contender. 1 Point win @ 9/2 (Bet365) BOG

Re: Market Movers Thread Be interesting to see how the two NRs do next time out.... Three placed at around evens is pretty good, and the Cartmel one went down from 7.0 to around 5.0 on exchange in last 10 minutes before race so would have been an easy trade. Nice thread.

Re: Market Movers Thread Mutayaser - Leicester 2:10 8/1 into 11/4 Boasts a most taking middle distance pedigree, by Shamardal out of a mare who was placed in Arc and Breeders' Cup Turf. Cost 230,000 gns and another interesting newcomer. 1 Point win @ 7/2 (Bet365) BOG Falkland Flyer - Ripon 3:00 20/1 into 9/1 Placed first 2 starts in maidens then off the mark upped to 7f when making all at Musselburgh. Hasn't built on that since, however, and looks vulnerable in this type of race. 1 Point win @ 11/1 (Boylesports) BOG

Re: Market Movers Thread Catholic Hill - Hereford 2:40 33/1 into 8/1 Offered a bit more over hurdles when seventh over 19f at Newton Abbot in August and not disgraced on Flat since, but looks weighted to the hilt on handicap bow in this sphere. 1 Point win @ 12/1 (Boylesports) BOG Am I Blue - Hereford 3:10 25/1 into 8/1 Plenty of promise when placed 3 times over hurdles for Tim Vaughan last season, but unlikely to deliver on that now on evidence of recent starts for new yard. 1 Point win @ 14/1 (Bet365) BOG Kokkokila - Lingfield 3:20 14/1 into 7/1 Won at Goodwood over this trip in October, but no impact in handicaps on both starts this season, latest under today's jockey at Salisbury. Tongue tied now. 1 Point win @ 9/1 (Boylesports) BOG Mushy Peas - Brighton 2:30 3/1 into 2/1 Well held in maidens first 3 starts but no denying he was an eye-catcher when strong-finishing third (clear of rest) under inexperienced claimer on handicap debut over this trip at Bath on Monday. 1 Point win @ 2/1 (Bet365) BOG Halyard - Kempton 5:20 13/2 into 7/2 Signs of promise in 2 starts as a juvenile, and having been gelded, got back on track when third at Windsor (1¼m) a fortnight ago. Every chance if first-time visor makes him pull out bit more. 1 Point win @ 9/2 (Boylesports) BOG

Re: Market Movers Thread Right Grand - Redcar 3:40 5/1 into 3/1 7f Southwell maiden winner at 2 yrs, and eye-catching return when strong-finishing second in 7f Newmarket handicap. Soft ground obvious excuse last time and deserves another chance. 1 Point win @ 7/2 (Boylesports) BOG Folly Bridge - Salisbury 4:25 17/2 into 4/1 Progressed into useful performer this year, winning handicaps at Nottingham (6f) and Newmarket (7f). Creditable third at latter track last time but career best needed to take this under top weight. 1 Point win @ 6/1 (Coral) BOG Udeman - Clonmel 7:10 9/1 into 9/2 Bred for considerably further than 2m and didn't offer much in a variety of events for Paul Flynn. Some promise when sixth at Wexford last time but not enough to make him of interest here. 1 Point win @ 6/1 (Ladbrokes) BOG
