jayalexander
Re: The Jockey Thread Leighton Aspell has rode 7 winners in 17 over the past 14 days, with a further 3 places. Profit of just over £11. This accounts for almost half the winners that he's had in his last 100 rides. He rides one today at Fakenham in the 5:00 for Lucy Wadham, who he won on ten days ago. 3f up in trip, but same class and has won on good going 2 out of 3 tries. May be worth a look. jayalexander
Re: The Jockey Thread Just conducting a quick jockey on fav analysis from 2012 until now. Interestingly, Dane O'Neill sits top of the pile with 56% of his rides starting as favs have won (25 rides minimum, flat only). Ian Mongan is next, but at 10% less! Robert Tart is top in the AW analysis with 50%, closely followed by Danny Tudhope (48%), Andrew Mullen (46%) and Ryan Moore (45%) Barry Geraghty (54%) and Aiden Coleman (53%) lead the way in chases. Wayne Hutchinson and Tom O'Brien each have a 49% win rate with hurdle favs. Patrick Mullins (45%) claims the most wins in the NHF category, followed by Nina Carberry and Jason Maguire (both 42%) and then......McCoy on 25%! None of the NHF riders above are showing an industry SP profit when backing all of their fav rides. This differs from most, if not all of the previously mentioned jockeys. jayalexander
The numbers aren't great. Moore had just over 60 fav AW rides, while the others had considerably less. I will come back to it later and answer that question fully for you.
jayalexander
Re: The Jockey Thread There have been 4388 favs run on the AW since 2012. This includes joint & co favs. When I did the analysis yesterday, it was only clear favourites that I checked. The stats including joint and co look a bit different... Robert Tart, Ryan Moore, Danny Tudhope and Jim Crowley are all on 44%. Crowley's had the most rides with 140 and has had 62 wins. Moore's had 71 rides, Tudhope 34 and Tart's on 32. Crowley's produced a 33.7% ROI and Tart has 16.5%. Moore and Tudhope average 3.5%. So, the answer to your question is that they ride just over 6.3% of the fav AW rides :ok

erhaab1965
Re: The Jockey Thread Fabulous ride from top jockey Ryan Moore in the Derby, to me he's in the top 3 in the UK and Ireland, possibly the best at the moment. ThemanwiththeSTATS
James McDonald is from New Zealand and has taken australia by storm. He is the best young rider I have seen anywhere , has a very cool head , loves the big stage and a brilliant judge of pace! Plus he is a very very smart lad which is quite rare for a jockey. mowgli77
Re: The Jockey Thread I expected you all to be cursing David Nolan. I bet he needs a police escort out of Ripon tonight. Eased up before the line, got beat and got a 10 day ban. Mistake rather than dodgy as far as I'm concerned but I'm sure if you'd backed his mount you'd want him lynched. Big drifter throughout the day - trading around 3.0 @ lunchtime and also drifted lto when he was given an awful ride, started his challenge at least 3 strides after everything else had gone for it. I don't think there is much uproar on here anymore because its now accepted that the game is completely bent at the lower levels and we just have to accept it. Added to this, Jockey change at NA with AP going up, gambled from 7/2 to odds on and wins. No previous form over hurdles. Doesn't bother me anymore - just fear for the sport :( Stewards have at least referred the above.

Nolan just ran out of petrol. ;) He was trying to be cheeky from what I saw rather than trying to throw the race but he got caught in the last strides. It was clear he had stopped riding and when it's that obvious he is always going to get a ban if he gets caught out, couldn't time it to perfection to just get done by a neck surely? I try my best to avoid lower class racing, class 3 and above is so much more consistent. If there is skullduggery it seems to be at a lower level unless anyone knows that Dawn Approach was nobbled before the Derby. :) Have you seen the Ripon race from tonight then? They kept replaying it, punters going mad and saying 10 days isn't enough.
