Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Abu Dhabi Championship 21-24 Jan Thanks Stu I had a £10 ew on both Kaymer & Casey in my local bookies and had just the £2.01 in my PP account! so thought what the hell... :D That's 2 out of 3 tournament winers I've played on so far! I left this weeks Bob Hope because of the nature of the tournament - just too fiddly for my liking!

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Abu Dhabi Championship 21-24 Jan I have one outright in the Bob Hope now which I placed last night so fingers crossed I can hit another winner, looking forward to the next tournament now and might get involved in some of the 2/3 balls, did bet on one in the Sony Open which was successful so a pretty good start to my Golf Betting. Absolutely chuffed with the profit from this one especially.

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Abu Dhabi Championship 21-24 Jan To be honest Bowles my head is up my arse at the moment!!! I didn't consider laying off because didn't have time to think about it... I'm flying back home to the states on thursday (I had to come back to the UK to see my specialist about my knee) so running/hobbling around getting things sorted and seeing the family before I fly back out!

well done those guys on Kaymer, Jonesy that was some bet 500/1 accy!!:clap did you think of laying him off for a couple of hundred? Mcilroy didnt get going til the final 9 holes and that was too late pleased he was thereabouts for some interest at 14.5 betfair as he was never bigger than that apart from during the final round. Set up a decent 18th with that birdie on the 17th but i didnt have pictures so relied on the betfair price changes to keep up !!

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Abu Dhabi Championship 21-24 Jan

:clap Hi everyone, gona venture onto the euro tour this week so:hope Martin Kaymer 1pt e/w 16/1 This lad loves this track as evidenced by his record here of 1st 08, 2T 09. Need i say more horses for courses and all that. Their is a doubt about an injury he got at the end of last year while go-karting but hopefully this will have healed up completely. Danny Willett 1pt e/w 55/1 It was Willetts maiden season last year he had 8 top 10 finishes,I think he'll move up a level this year and at least win one. He has some CV, former English Amateur champion and world amateur number 1. He finished fourth in Joburg last week and this will put him in good stead for the Abu Dhabi track where he finished tied eighth in his debut last season. Best of luck all, hopefully my luck continues:hope
Happy days another great week this week too, Willett was terrible but at least kaymer played a stormer:beer

Well done Jonesy! What a Corker of a coupon, you must have had a crystal ball for that one,and lets face it you wont be too despondent with the $1.60 exchange rate or so you will get for your troubles. Spend it well,Spend it wisely, dont give it all back to the Badman! Well done to all the Kaymer backers,as I have said previously I fancy him to win the Race2Dubai,although the 7/1 will be truly slashed now. P.S The Oosthuizen bet was great value,I just didnt have the bottle to do Top 5 @ 10/1,you are normally tied and split with about another 5 guys, but hey as Ivana would say "It is what it is"! A word of warning for the Qatar Masters,I seem to remember Casey struggling big time with this one so tread carefully,I think he has missed the cut on a few occasions and has acknowledged it doesn,t suit him.;)

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan I was keeping an eye on Henrik Stensons form this week as next weeks tournament is one of his favourites finishing 1st in 2006, 7th in 2007, 2nd in 2008 & joint 2nd in 2009 at Doha GC. He finished 21st this week and his last 2 rounds were very promising finishing 69 67 in last 2 rounds after picking up too many bogeys in the 1st 2 rounds. Not sure what price they will put him in at, but i suppose he could be fav? Hoping for around 12/1 if possible:ok

Thought you might have kept that under wraps until the market was formed, mate. Agree the information is public domain but I wouldn't have advertised his chances & the price you hope for in advance of the market.

I just felt it was worth noting how well he does in this tourney. Yes, i am expecting him to be fav and he will be popular then again so will others. My timing perhaps isnt ideal but i was looking at the stats tonight and decided to post it up.

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan Commercialbank Qatar Masters Doha GC Doha, Qatar 28 Jan 2010 - 31 Jan 2010 Outright: I can't pick Stenson although he is a standing dish here but at 10/1 odds I feel there is no value in a tournament where has finished runner up so many times and winning it just the once in 2006 and his best score here was in 2008 -17. Alvaro Quiros EW @31.00 Bet365 (1/4 odds 1,2,3,4,5) He won this tournament last year by 3 shots (-19) which was one off the course record. He showed up well in last weekends Abu Dhabi Championship finishing in 11th place, hitting a magnificent eagle on the 18th. He seems to be getting better each year and will be a contender for the European Order Of Merit this year. A great each way bet in my mind. Rhys Davies EW @151.00 Totesport (1/4 odds 1,2,3,4,5) I was impressed with this Guy last weekend where he finished a very good 6th in The Abu Dhabi and he has played 4 tournaments so far this year 3 in SA & 1 in Dubai and he's improved each time he's played. He won the SWALEC Wales Challenge in July 2009 under a sponsor’s invitation to secure his first Challenge Tour title. The triumph in Cardiff made him the first Welshman since Jamie Donaldson in 2007 to win on the Challenge Tour, and he later added the Fred Olsen Challenge de España en route to finishing fourth in the Rankings, despite having played fewer events than anyone else in the top 20. He's a possible dark horse this year for events and the signs are that he is improving his game and he could look an each way steal at the price! :ok

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan Commercialbank Qatar Masters Going to have quite a few bets in this one I feel but here are a couple of early ones for me: 0.5pt Each way Rafael Cabrera-Bello to win outright @ 175/1 (Stan James 1/4 - 1,2,3,4,5) 1pt win Rafael Cabrera-Bello Top 10 finish @ 18/1 (Stan James) Decided to have a go at a long-shot this week. He has played in 3 tournaments in 2010 so far, finishing under par in all three but has had some mixed form. Started the South African Open in horrible fashion with a score of 79, he then hit a 65 the next day then 74 and 69 on his final two days. He finished T43 in the Abu Dhabi Championship the weekend just past, his best rounds were in R2 and R4 finishing on a score of -5. He had 5 top 10 finishes in 2009 with one win which came at the Austraian Open where he produced a fantastic round of 60 on the final day. He is a long hitter of the ball and this course does slightly favour the long hitters as they have a great chance to hit the greens on the par 5 holes in just 2 hits. If he can sharpen up his putting this week then I am sure he can have a great tournament. His putting did improve on the last day in the Abu Dhabi where he hit 5 out of his total of 15 birdies in the whole tournament and had a total of just 30 putts compared to his 32-33 for the rest of the week. 1pt Each Way Louis Oosthuizen to win outright @ 25/1 (Stan James 1/4 - 1,2,3,4,5) His best form in 2009 came in the 3 tournaments in the UAE and Qatar, and once again he did well in the Abu Dhabi Championship at the weekend with a final round of 66 to finish in 5th place. He also finished T2 in the same tournament last year when he shared 2nd with this years winner Martin Kaymer. Was then T2 in this event last year with Henrik Stenson, had his worst round of the tournament on the last day which dented any chances of him winning. He then went on to the Dubai Desert Classic and finished T7 so from those 3 events he finished in the top 10 in all 3. In fact he notched up 5 top 10 finishes in a row last year as he finished T10 in the Joburg Open and T7 in the Maybank Malaysian Open, he then only recorded one top 10 finish the rest of the year. He finished T12 in this years Joburg Open and with a good Abu Dhabi Championship behind him he may just have that bit of confidence to finally break his duck in the European Tour. Will more than likely have 1/2 more bets on the outright or top 10/20 and maybe a bet in the first round leader :ok

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan :loonHi all, a great start last week to all who had Kaymer, another serious horses for courses this week i think, Louis Oosthuizen 1pt e/w 25/1 Oosthuizen has a great record in Doha in recent years of 8T 05, 25T 08 and 2T 09, the course is usually a low scoring one as long as the weather doesn't pick up. he will be looking to capitalise on his impressive top five finish in last week’s Abu Dhabi. He seems to love it over here so worth a punt e/w Richard Green 1pt e/w 66/1 I do think that Stenson has a tremendous chance this week but is a little short for my liking so have gone for a bit of value in Richard Green, He has a solid record in this event having recorded a sequence of three top 10 places in 2003, 2005, 2007. On the back of solid showing last week in Abu Dhabi where he finished 13th he represents excellent value for at least an each way claim.Best of luck all:ok

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan

Here goes for this weeks Tourney.

After doing a bit of reading up it would appear that Stenson seems to be the Horse for course pick but after watching him miss putt after putt last week I am giving him a miss. Last years Top 10 featured 4 spaniards including Quiros who won the event convincingly. This, I would imagine suggests that the Players with a neat&tidy short game do well. My Top pick for a win is Lee Westwood, last year his he carded 67,73,67,74. If you remove the Friday 73 i would imagine he would have made a better fist of things on the Sunday and maybe shot a far better round. I also like the chance of Oosthuizen albeit at unattractive odds,he was Tied 2nd here and last week backs up he is a Desert specialist. So a Top R.O.W price looks the value.

My Top 10 pick this week is what might be considered an unfashionable one,it is the small and unassuming Damien Mcgrane, but a European Tour winner,4th here in 09,and a short game which anyone would be proud of makes him worthy of his price.

SUMMARY

OUTRIGHT: LEE WESTWOOD 18/1@ STAN JAMES

TOP REST OF WORLD: LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN 13/2@ STAN JAMES

TOP 10 FINISH: DAMIEN McGRANE 12/1@ STAN JAMES

P.S FUN BET: 1st ROUND LEADER PABLO MARTIN 60/1@ STAN JAMES He withdrew last year after bad first round but Won in South Africa and can go low at times.

Best Of Luck All!:drums

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan Three picks for me this week and although I do like Stenson, especially in this region, I cant be backing him at the price he's been backed down to at the moment. Additionally I wont be backing the other favourite on here, Louis Oosthuizen, a man with no wins on either the European or Challenge Tour in 169 attempts so I'll be looking elsewhere. Sergio Garcia @ 26 ew Sergio has had a torrid last year after promising so much but after the break up with his girlfriend he fell apart a bit, however, lets not foget still won 8times on the European Tour and 7 on the PGA Tour and thus very much a proven winner. He played well last week and although a disappointing 3rd round took him out of contention after being only off the lead after 2 rounds, it not only shows he can deal with the desert conditions but also that he's over his injury. His record here is actually very good with only 3 appearances he started with a 19th and followed that up with two 7th places in the last two years. Additionally, he is a cumulative 26under par in his last 9 rounds - not too shabby! His putting is usually a worry but after a torrid time on the greens in 2007, his putting stats have improved in both years since. If he could even be average on the greens he'd have a great shout this week especially at these odds. Graeme McDowell @ 67 ew Graeme McDowell missed the cut last week but hopefully that will have shaken off any rust. However, he proved he was playing well having finished 2nd at Tigers Chevron Challenge over the winter break. His recent record here is very solid, however, what struck me is that in 2007 when Goosen won, he played the last three rounds in 13under par - 3 better than anyone else in the field on his way to finishing 4th. Followed up with 4 under par rounds in 2008 showing that he likes the course. Has won 4 times on tour with 2 wins in 2008 and is a player who has the ability to go very low. Ross McGowan @ 67 A player who I like a lot and expect to have a massive future and who won at the end of last year as well as finishing 2nd in Dubai showing his desert play isnt too shabby. Finished the season brilliantly with four top6 finishes in 6 tournaments and has played his last 8tournaments in 87under (which includes a MC +4 in SA!). Finished 13th here on his debutand made the cut again last year with a 2nd round 66; however, what I really like is his finish last week. A 27th place may not look special but previously he had missed the cut in both his appearances here which shows me he is not only maturing as a player but he's playing pretty well as well. GL:hope

bronze.gif2pts win Retief Goosen at 14/1 (general).Putting improved lately and looks the pick of the market leaders.
We are spoilt once again on the European Tour with another sensational turnout for the Commercialbank Qatar Masters after the excitement in Abu Dhabi. Seven of the world's top 14 are on show with last week's hero Martin Kaymer vying for favouritism alongside Henrik Stenson while Retief Goosen, Lee Westwood, Charl Schwartzel, Sergio Garcia and Ian Poulter add to a stellar cast list for the middle section of the Gulf swing. Kaymer will have no problems believing he can go back-to-back having won the Open de France and then at Loch Lomond last summer. His course form at Doha Golf Club is nothing out of the ordinary but is keen to point out that could be about to change. He said: "I have struggled in Qatar over the last two years but this time I am more confident and have more motivation." He is a couple of points shorter than last week and although in tremendous form, conditions are quite a bit different in Doha thanks to a gusty wind that blows in off the desert making scoring that little bit tougher. Stenson is on offer at 12/1 as well and the 2006 winner admits he "knows this course inside out." That statement seems fully justified as his form figues since 2005 have been 2-1-7-2-2 and his long, straight-hitting game is ideally adapted to the test. He posted a solid weekend's work in Abu Dhabi with rounds of 69-67 and that should have put him close to spot on. Poulter was unfortunate to bump into a Kaymer on top form and did little wrong. His efforts got him into the world's top 10 for the first time in his career and he is on offer at 20/1 to go one better. I don't really know what else he could have done and he was pretty gutted that he didn't take the title - it will be interesting to see how he responds as he admits to being tough on himself if he does not clinch victory. Westwood returned to a fanfare but struggled in Abu Dhabi and missed the cut by five shots. He said he got away with things in an opening 69 but it all went pears shaped on Friday with a 78 meaning he made an early arrival in Qatar. He had a new set of irons in the bag and they were not to his liking in the slightest as he compared them to feeling like fishing rods. He could well have had them re-shafted by the time he tees it up or a replacement set may have even been flown out to him. Either way, his preparation will not have been ideal. Garcia did okay bar the third round as he eases his way back to form from a wrist injury while Schwartzel returns to the fray after a week off to recharge following back to back wins in South Africa. He could become only the fourth player in European Tour history to win three events on the spin and is sure to be right in the spotlight throughout his quest. He has a decent record in Doha but this is much tougher than the fields he beat at the start of the month. So we have gradually whittled the market leaders down and the one that sticks out is Goosen at 14/1. He perhaps should have won a couple of times in Europe in 2009 but modest final rounds in the BMW International Open and at Loch Lomond saw him come up short. Putting has been a problem but some work at home on his winter break seems to be paying dividends as he has posted good efforts on the PGA Tour already in the two events staged in Hawaii. The second of those at the Sony saw him finish with a blistering 62 - the round of the week - on the way to a fourth-place finish. There has never been any doubt that Goosen has a long game right up with the best around and his new-found confidence on the greens with a long putter could well be the final piece in the puzzle to get him back in the winner's circle again on a regular basis. A winner at the course in 2007 - when he also arrived on the back of a couple of very good efforts - with a dramatic eagle on the final hole, he looks ready to make a winning impact. It is going to be tough to break into the top echelons this week but three other names at decent prices do catch the eye - Alex Noren, Steve Webster and Marc Warren. Swede Noren made his breakthrough in the European Masters last September and 2010 looks like a year he will kick on and add to that title. He already has a couple of top-25 finishes in Doha and since his win at Crans Montana, has shown his ability to mix it regularly with excellent efforts in Madrid, Portugal and Dubai. His effort in Abu Dhabi petered out after an opening 66 but he should be much sharper for that having also been on duty for Europe at the Royal Trophy. What makes Noren of more interest this week is his close links with Kaymer. The pair played a lot together on the Challenge Tour and it was Noren who finished ahead of the German in the rankings in 2006 before the latter pipped him to Rookie of the Year in 2007. Noren admitted at this event a couple of years ago to being inspited by Kaymer's first win in Abu Dhabi and he now finds himself in a similar situation a week after more heroics from the new world number six. He will be very keen indeed to put in a performance and that would not be a huge shock in my book at 50/1. Webster and Warren are both big prices but not without a squeak. The former is another to get into a good position quite often but can't quite see things through to the end as he would like. He played some decent stuff in Abu Dhabi bar the back nine of the third round and having appeared at every event in Doha, should know what is required to get into the firing line. He has five top 20s at the course and turning that into a podium finish will require a bit more - but we can take a chance with odds of 125/1 quoted. Warren is a player who deserves a second look with the prospect of blustery conditions and gets the vote at 250/1. The Scot last won an event in 2007 and his form has been a bit hit-and-miss since but there were signs last year that he could be getting back to somewhere near the level he is capable of achieving. He last played in Qatar in 2008 where closing rounds of 67-68 hoisted him up inside the top 15 and he has a game which should come into its own around here. Like many of his rivals, a hit-out last week in Abu Dhabi should bring him along enough for him to outplay those massive odds. Preview posted at 2225GMT on 26/01/2010.

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan Guys I have posted what i consider to be a very useful Tipster site on bettingzone. The guy,s name is David John and over the last few seasons he has flagged up some crackers. If my memory serves me right he tipped up a massive Win-Win double on the European&US PGA tour last year.,and generally is very well versed on both tours. I have not edited the original post so see my previous post with all details and good links for prices&markets. I presume I am Ok to paste the above link as it has not been deleted, but incase I have breached any rules please let me know. If any of you like what you see I will try and do the same each week. We need all the help we can get when we play the Layers! Good Luck All!

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan Taking a few outrights here, including 72 hole match bets. S.Garcia to win Qatar Masters, 1.5pts EW @ 25/1 Bet365 (1/4 odds 1-2-3-4-5) There are 2 key stats here which are driving distance & GIR; on that basis, Sergio is a great EW bet here. He ranked top for GIR in 2009 and 16th for distance, that was despite a very average season by his high standards. 13th last week at the Abu Dhabi but he spoilt his chance with a 3rd round 74, otherwise he'd had finished much closer. The world number 14 has finished 7th on both his last starts here so that, coupled with his performance last week, proves he goes well in the desert. This course puts less emphasis on putting which, as everyone knows, has been Garcia's achilles heel for years now. Off the fairway, he's one of the best in the world and I think he's got a major chance here. I just can't have Stenson who, supposedly, is still not using his driver (a hindrance of this track)or Kaymer, who isn't as good here as he is at the Abu Dhabi, which has probably helped inflate El Nino's price to a large looking 25/1. S.Hansen to win Qatar Masters, 1.5pts EW @ 35/1 Boylesports (1/4 odds 1-2-3-4-5) A player I have a lot of time for, Soren Hansen comes here in great form and with a great chance. Long off the tee, superb off the fairways, he has all the attributes necessary to go well here. Has 3 Top 10's in his last 3 starts so is certainly playing some good golf. Last week he opened with a 72 which effectively ended his chance but then finished -14 for the final 3 rounds - only 2 players bettered that including the winner, Kaymer. Has never been the greatest putter in the world but that's not the most essential stat here. If ever there was a time to back the Dane, it's now so I'll take him to improve on this 8th last week and bring him the EW money here. J.Edfors to be Top Swedish Player, 1pt @ 8/1 Skybet Essentially, a 5 horse race if we discount those at bigger prices. I feel Edfors has the measure of the 4 above him - Stenson, Noren, Hanson & Karlsson. Stenson has a great record here but is not on top form at present and, with question marks over his driver, is opposed whilst Noren flattered to deceive last week and is too short in the market. Hanson played well in the opening 2 rounds and looked well place at halfway but fell away when the pressure was on whilst Karlsson finished down in 60th. Edfors didn't fare an awful lot better but this track suits more - a long hitter with excellent GIR stats, he will enjoy it this week. Form figures of 27-4-16 will do for me and, overpriced at 8/1, I'll take small stake on him here. T.Jaidee to beat C.Wood, 72 hole match bet, 6pts @ 10/11 Bet365 I don't get this price. Jaidee beat Wood by 1 shot last week at the Abu Dhabi but only because of Wood's 64 in the 2nd round. The Thai was much more consistent there and I expect more of the same from him here, where he has form with a top 10 in 2007. He's pretty good off the tee and has solid iron play so I expect 4 good rounds from him whilst Wood is far more prone to errors. Is still relatively inexperienced and I just think this top class field at a tough venue may find him out, especially as, apart from the 64 last week, he's been in pretty average form with no further rounds this year in the 60's. At 10/11 each of 2, I'll take Jaidee to prevail here.

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan Guys! Was on betfair forum,a couple of punters saying the wind is going to really blow,if you are going 1st round leader markets or 3 balls I would dig out your good wind players, especially if your player is starting after 10/11 a.m. Pretty sure your 1st round leader will come from the very early morning starters.

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan Taking 2 on the opening day. D.Fichardt to beat R.Jacquelin & O.Henningsson, 1st round 3 balls, 3pts @ 13/8 Ladbrokes I'll take the South African here, a player who is pretty prolific on the Sunshine Tour but chances his arm at the Qatar this week. He returns to Doha for the first time in 4 years but his chances are based almost solely on his track record. On his last 4 starts here, he's won the event once, finished 3rd and had 2 more top 35 finishes; that's cracking form. Has some current form to recommend him too with a 6th at the South African Open and a 25th at the Alfred Dunhill where he was nailed on for another top 10 but for a closing 76. Henningsson missed the cut last week after an opening 78 whilst Jacquelin opened with a 74 before finishing a creditable 37th. Neither of them have either the current form or the course form off the South Africa so, at a decent price, I'll take Fichardt to start well & bring this bet in. N.Dougherty to beat A.Wall & R.Rock, 1st round 3 balls, 3pts @ 15/8 Totesport Dougherty loves it here. In his last 4 visits, has finished inside the top 30 each time recording 2 top 10's. In terms of opening rounds, has 3 times opened with a sub 70 round which is superb going. Started off this season by missing the cut in the first event but improved last week and his play wasn't reflected in his actual score. He certainly looks to be coming into some form at just the right time. Wall meanwhile was 37th last week but expectations were a lot higher so will be disappointed by that. Has never opened with better than a 70 at Doha. Rock missed the cut last week so has to be opposed whilst showing no form at all at the Qatar. At just under 2/1, I really like Dougherty's chance here in this 3 ball.

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan Sergio to beat Lee Westwood 72 holes @ eves Following on from my outright on Sergio I think he'll go well here. Last week Westwoods stats were woeful and he missed the cut. He said the clubs felt like fishing rods and if he uses the same ones (which he probably wont) he'll miss the cut, and using new clubs/grips is never easy to get in to quickly. His record here isnt as good as Sergios and I fully expect this to be a relatively easy win. Graeme McDowell to beat Ross Fisher @ 2.2 72 holes Another of my outrights to win a 72 hole match bet. My main reason here is that this is Fisher's first competitive golf of the year and McDowell has blown the cobwebs away. Add in their comparative records and McDowell blitzes the Englishman there too. While I rate Fisher highly, I cant expect him to come out all guns blazing and at the odds I'll take him on. Edfors to beat Ramsey & Howell @ 2.38 Edfors has a very good record here leading after 3 rounds here in 08 as well as finishing 16th last year. He played some solid golf last week and I was tempted to put a 1st round leader bet on him, however, I'll settle for him winning his 3 ball. Ramsey has won already this season but is doing what a lot of players do after their maiden win and followed it up with a disappointing MC last week in the desert. Howell on the other hand is not the player he was a few years ago when he reached the top 10 and has missed 6 of his last 8. You never know what you'll get with him but I fully expect Edfors to win this handily. Green to beat Orr & Dredge @ 2.25 I was again tempted on Green for the 1st round leader as I wouldnt trust him in the outright market, however, just like Edfors I'm taking the much more modest odds and going for the three ball. Green has an excellent record here, is a relatively fast starter and played really well last week finishing in the top 15, Orr finished top 30 last week but is a very streaky player and before that had missed three cuts. Dredge is another good quality player, however, is playing only solid golf. I expect him to win this year as he tries to qualify for his home Ryder Cup, however, I think Green is the solid favourite here. GL:hope

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan Outright Henrik Stenson 5pts EW 10-1 He's short odds but he is reasonable form and given his previous course form I'll follow him over the cliff here. If he was 16-1 he would be a no brainer so I'm not letting the price put me off. (YTD: -10 PTS)

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan

Guys! Was on betfair forum,a couple of punters saying the wind is going to really blow,if you are going 1st round leader markets or 3 balls I would dig out your good wind players, especially if your player is starting after 10/11 a.m. Pretty sure your 1st round leader will come from the very early morning starters.
Excellent information... shame I read it too late!! Oosthuizen was -5 thru 12... finished par! Its affected a few names tipped on here! P. Martin +8 R. Davies +8 S.Webster +6 J.Edfors +4 Cabrera-Bello +4 T.Jaidee +3 Karlsson's first round could well win this for him! I don't know what the forecast is for the rest of the rounds, but a lot of players could well be out of it already!

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan Can't believe Oosthuizen was -5 thru par, I just looked at his total when I got up and was a bit disappointed, looks like Cabrera-Bello has no chance already and will need a bogey free round from Oosthuizen most likely.

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan stenson struggled out there, he dropped 4 shots in 3 straight holes on the back nine and came in +3, now out to 40/1, lets hope he bangs in an under par round tomorrow Fisher did well to come in -2 and happy with the price i got on him

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan Dougherty won his 3 ball so that puts me +2.63pts after Day 1. I'm looking at 4 for tomorrow, all at quite tasty looking prices. P.Casey to beat M.Kaymer & H.Stenson, 2nd round 3 balls, 3pts @ 2/1 Boylesports Paul Casey won this 3 ball in the first round and I fancy him to do so again. He's a top player, ranked 9th in the world, and started pretty well here. Drove a long way today which is always a plus and managed 4 birdies in a round of 71. Only 4 off the lead so is poised to challenge and will look to improve on his first 18 here. Both Kaymer & Stenson finished over par in Round 1. Kaymer carded a 74 and struggled to hit the greens, whilst Stenson dropped 7 shots en route to a 75. He hit the ball a long way from the box but his iron play was terrible. Casey looked solid today and another effort like that should be enough to take this. A.Forsyth to beat C.Wood & P.Larrazabal, 2nd round 3 balls, 3pts @ 9/4 Boylesports The Scot took this with a 74 today against his rivals' 75 and, again, I expect him to win this one too. Was excellent tee to green today and only missed carding a better score due to his inability to sink those all important putts. However, getting to the green is proving difficult here so I'm pretty pleased with how he played today. Chris Wood is always capable of a birdie or 2 but if he continues to drive like he did today, he'll continue to slip down this leaderboard fast. Larrazabal had a poor round today, never looking like shooting better so I fail to see how he's a shorter price than Forsyth. On that basis, I'll take Alistair to win this at a shade over 2/1. E.Molinari to beat R.Karlsson & S.Dyson, 2nd round 3 balls, 3pts @ 21/10 Paddy Power I'm a big fan of this Molinari brother and think he's a big price here. Admittedly, he takes on Karlsson who carded a stunning 68 which included a 2 on the 470yd 15th. No doubt the Swede will be tough to beat but his price reflects that and there must be some value in the Italian, who hit a 73, the same as Dyson. The main difference between those 2 rivals was Molinari's proficiency on his approach to the green. Accurate & long off the tee helped him to hit a raft of greens, whereas Dyson was struggling a bit more. If anything, Molinari deserved to card much better than he did and, if he has a tad more luck on the carpet, he could well shoot low and take this comfortably. JF.Lucquin to beat G.Bourdy & D.Drysdale, 2nd round 3 balls, 3pts @ 3/1 Extrabet Lucquin hit a 74 today but played pretty well into the bargain. Was 2nd on GIR but it was his poor putting that let him down. Again, with a little more luck on the green, he could have quite easily gone under par here. Bourdy, on the other hand, putted well but that only disguised his horrible driving and iron play. Without the short stick, he would have been much further back than the 75 puts him. Drysdale carded a 77 and his chance has gone. Short off the tee which doesn't match with the course, he'll struggle to make any inroads tomorrow. Lucquin looks a massive price to me and I'm happy with the 3's on offer to win here.

Re: Golf: European Tour 2010 - Qatar Masters 28-31 Jan Stenson hits -3 today to make him level par, still too many bogeys in the round though! Fisher hits +1 today to go to -1 Leader is on -8 at the mo is it too far behind to win, i think so. Unless, they both hit a very low score tomorrow
