Quite a few of us playing Betfair 20K Gtd Awesome Offer via Betfair Pro BOGOF I imagine. (if you're not, why not? You're crazy!) Thought it would be interesting to track how we do (just for fun). If you're doing it post your betfair alias here, before your first game and your running balance after each game (good or bad). The offer is capped at 10 free games, so each player should track a maximum of 20 (consecutive) games :ok Good luck all :)

Re: Betfair BOGOF results Just looking up the details: 20:15 BST start $18,000 Gtd $100+$9 freezeout (I presume it's a freezeout - I cant see any rebuy info) Starting Stack: 2500 Blinds: 15 minute (Can I trust that? Used to be that blinds were listed randomly in the lobby - I presume that's fixed by now?) 9 seater tables Yesterdays game had 149 entrants paying $100+$9 each = $16,241 - so "only" a $1,759 overlay. To 18 paid - $5400 to the winner. The game ran for 4hrs 54 minutes (so would have finished at 01:09 this morning.

Does it run every day, same details? I suppose we ought to have it in the diary if it's a game with a regular overlay.

Re: Betfair BOGOF results I was watching you for a while, definitely think you were playing very tight. Though that's understandable as you don't want to bust out of a $109 tourney early on. I know the couple times I've played the €150 tourney on Boss it's easier said than done to play your normal game.

Re: Betfair BOGOF results I think limping behind a limper is ok on this occasion. You only have 14 BBs left, so you don't want to waste a raise to fold to a reraise, but I'd be prepared to limp the 200 and call any raise up to 600 and I'd check the flop whatever came, folding to a bet if I miss or shoving if I hit. Doubt most would agree though.

Re: Betfair BOGOF results

How can I open fold AQs? :loon
You wanted to avoid any tough decisions it seems? You don't want to open limp, but if you raise and get reraised then what do you do? What if you raise, get called and miss the flop? (they're hypothetical questions - me reasoning why you open folded)

Re: Betfair BOGOF results Definitely not your best game Gaf. Watched part of it too, and saw you double up once, but you were so tight that at one moment I wondered if you were disconnected. :eek I think I'll play next week too. Don't want to play in the weekend when there are many other games. But I think it's a good warning for me to try and be mentally prepared and not be mentally on tilt and freeze up like you did tonight :\ We all know you are a much better player then you showed tonight at the Betfair game. You just need to bring it out and not be... scared :tongue2

Re: Betfair BOGOF results I think it is a fairly natural reaction when playing a high buy-in game to tighten up, many have said when being staked that they have been tighter as they were playing with others money. Saying that folding AQ is too tight. I'm not fanatical about limping, but with QJs and a limper in first, I'd be prepared to speculate.

Re: Betfair BOGOF results WOh that's tight for you gaf, I used to do this in the bigger ones when I satted into them but have had best results when I just play my best game i.e aggressive donk :) I for one would rather bust early on instead of being short stacked round bubble time.

Re: Betfair BOGOF results I think the first hand with AQo is marginal, either you raise and are prepared to go bust or you fold. I would not be that unhappy to fold but it feels bad! AQs hand...well, you have to raise there when it's folded to you!! JQs hand...I fold here too. You don't really have the proper implied odds I think. If the table is very passive and lots of limping then that's ok but if you limp and someone raises you have to throw it away.
