Super 14: Week 9

Recommended Posts

Blues win by 1-12 margin (3.10 @ centrebet) For all their talent at their disposal, the Blues have been disappointing this year and don't just justify being such heavy favourites in this game. The Lions will come into this game with a nothing to lose attitude like last week and will throw the ball around. They came close to beating the high flying Chiefs last week, so the Blues will hold no fear for them. In what should be a high scoring game, the Blues should have enough to hold off the Lions but they will be made to work all the way, as they still have a slim chance of making the semi finals Western Force wins by 1-12 margin (2.75 @ centrebet) Giteau has been a standout for the Force in recent weeks and he was exceptional in last weeks thumping of the woeful Reds. This week he is up against the much maligned Hurricanes who have been the most inconsistent side in the Super 14, with some very good players who can beat anybody on their day but can put in some poor performances too. The Force will be confident after last weeks win while the Hurrcines are coing back from South Africa, and they may get tired towards the end. You would expect them to push the Force all the way and the Force may do enough to get there, just like they won 18-17 two years ago on this ground
