Re: New Year's Resolution Thread 2:30 Cheltenham: Conquisto 1pt e/w 20/1 Coral (1/4 1234) Ballynagour 2pts win 15/2 Stan James & Tap Night 1pt win 18/1 Bet Victor Gutted that Marito is not running still now have a stab at three others. Conquisto looks a big price for a very consistent in form horse. Can't think why he seems to be on the drift. Lot to like about last win at Aintree and he's still quite lightly raced. May be more to come. Ballynagour looked a horse with a big future when he joined David Pipe and if he is 100% then he looks to be on a very attractive mark still. Interesting the stable go with him and fresh may be the time to catch Ballynagour. Tap Night is another that seems to have been overlooked a little. He was a long way behing Simonsig here in March and Rajdhani Express at Ayr but he's had a pipe opener and this better ground could bring about improvement. Also 6 x 1pt exactas. 3:00 Cheltenham: Lamb Or Cod 2pts e/w 14/1 William Hill (1/4 1234) Phillip Hobbs is in great form at the moment and Lamb Or Cod could go very well here over a distance that is likley to suit. He is relatively lightly raced and his outing at Chepstow should have put him spot on for this.

Re: New Year's Resolution Thread 1:50 Cheltenham: Tour Des Champs 1pt e/w 8/1 Bet365 (1/4 123) Tour Des Champs last run has been franked and he should be suited by this extra distance today. The yard usually do well here and Tour Des Champs is only six so there may be a little more improvement to come.

Re: New Year's Resolution Thread 1:15 Haydock: Ace High 2pts win 6/1 Stan James David Pipe has followed his father in getting improvement out of horses he aquires. Ace High had some decent form for Victor Dartnell before losing his way and based on the yard's record with similar types its reasonable to Ace High will be ready to go. 1:30 Ascot: Florafern 2pts win 7/1 Bet365 Florafern goes well fresh and ran well in this race last year when second to Tweedledrum. The winner was a big price that day but went on to run well subsequently so that form looks decent. Its likley that today has been picked out as a target and the yard being in good form adds weight to Florafern's case. 1:50 Haydock: Special Catch 2pts win 9/1 Sportingbet Special Catch has promised a little more than he has delivered of late but lloks a decent price here and with conditions in his favour and the extra distance of ground he looks worth and interest for the Reveley combination. Keith has string in decent shape too. 3:00 Haydock: Long Run 1pt e/w 12/1 Bet365 (1/4 123) Long Run could be a decent each way bet here. He ran really badly last time but had a bad scope however the good news is, he has reportedly schooled well since. With a run under his belt he should make the frame if he can come back to anywhere near his normal form.

Re: New Year's Resolution Thread 3:45 Towcester: So Oscar 1pt win 7/4 William Hill Makes his first outing for Lawney Hill and she usually has her charges pretty straight. So Oscar has run to a fair standard and may be able to get his head in front here. Others may progress past in time - but the racecourse experience could tip the balance.

Re: New Year's Resolution Thread 1:50 Sandown: Hinterland 2pts win 11/2 Stan James Hinterland had looked pretty decent last year and won nicely last time appearing to be going the best before Grandouet unseated so its a little of a surprise to see him at a bigger price and drifting. Looks the value. 2:05 Aintree: Bostons Angel 2pts win 16/1 Willam Hill & Across The Bay 1pt win 12/1 Boylesports Bostons Angel has done well over the cross country courses so should hopefully take to these fences. Also has his first run for David Pipe which may bring a little improvement / freshened up. Across The Bay ran well for a long way in the Grand National and this may just be his trip. Looks likely to give a good account and trainer likes to do well here, where his father had so much success. 2:25 Sandown: Seventh Sky 2pts win 25/1 Betbright & Deep Trouble 1pt win 8/1 Betfred Seventh Sky looks pretty big in the market. He looks to be on a reasonable mark here and off a break could go well at a big price. Charlie Mann is in decent form and does well here. Deep Trouble ran well at Cheltenham and a reproduction of that effort would see him go close. 3:15 Aintree: Dunowen Point 2pts win 7/1 Betfred, You Must Know Me 1pt win 16/1 Stan James & Your Busy 1pt win 33/1 Betbright Dunowen Point ran a fine race here in April and that form has been franked by the winner. Donald McCain does well here and a big run looks possible. You Must Know Me catches the eye coming over from Ireland and given some of his form as a novice he could make the journey over worthwhile. You Busy is another that looks overpriced. Again travels over from Ireland and has some course form.
