Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round, 1st Leg, Tue/Wed 12th/13th August

Re: Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round, 1st Leg, Tue/Wed 12th/13th August I see no value in both Arsenal and Liverpool, and even Juventus. They are all hyped up. Arsenal is very good, who says they are not? But Twente is no mugs. McClaren isn't a great coach but his Boro did OKish against big teams in PL couple of years ago. He even guided them to UEFA Cup semi-final. I say McClaren is a decent coach with fair knowledge and experience at this level. Like him or not, this is fact. Arsenal on the other hand will show a new face after the departure of Hleb. He was a vital piece (though very quiet) for Arsenal last season. Their game plan will need some changes to adapt to this. In addition, they miss quite a lot of players for this game, some of them are keys. Twente didn't win their place for this game by chance, they had to compete with Ajax, PSV, and Feyenoord so you can't say they are worse than a mid-table team in PL. Can Arsenal win any mid-table team in PL with this squad? I very much doubt it! Plus, they will be satisfied with a draw here and then qualify with a win at home with a better squad at hand. Arsenal will not attack at all cost. Twente also know the strength of their opponent so they will be prudent not to conceed early. This will be a tight and boring game. Odds on Arsenal is sh*t (1.5-1.6, or -3/4AH at most bookies). My odd is -1/4AH @ 1.9 so there's no way I will touch this game. The only possible bet is Under, but considering Arsenal young squad (which means unpredictable) I will give this game a miss. Liverpool is a same story. Standard won the Belgian title last year comfortably. They just beat Anderlech at the Super Cup final without much difficulty. Liverpool have no major injury worries but they are still shaping their game plan. Liverpool can win this game but not with a big margin. Why should they try to look for a second goal when 1-0 or even 0-0 is enough? And Standard won't give it up without a good fight. All in all, I see Liverpool -3/4AH a risky bet and won't touch it. Juventus at 1.14? A blatant joke! Their opponent will be Artmedia from Slovakia who made it to the group stage the other year. Slovak football usually produce decent players, ask Hamsyk and Skrtel for more information. At home, they are fairly solid and they have the sort of experience necessary for away games in Europe. Juventus will win but for 1.14 it's not a good bet at all. On -2AH, there's no value either. We all know Juve usually start slow and grow stronger into the season. They also don't have the habit to win big. Therefore a victory with 3 goals margin at this stage against a decent opponent is somewhat like a lottery. I won't touch this game either. Where to bet you may ask? I usually bet against English teams in Europe because they are underpriced most of the time. I don't mean they are bad, it's just the odds that go crazy sometimes. Remember that odd on England against Croatia? If you are desperate for a bet, have a look at my post in Non-European football section. I have a juicy bet in the shape of Internacional (Brazil).

Galatasaray is not good enough for saying straight win. we have see that in friendly games. Be careful mate...
Good advice, Romanians 2-0 up now and Gala seem to be just a name from the past.......... P.S. Or maybe I was too fast, 1-2 while posting before.

Thanks mate' date=' puts me off slightly as Fabregas is Arsenal's main man. Whats your thoughts? I still fancy Arsenal to get the job done but of the two English teams I'm more confident in Liverpool.[/quote'] My thoughts are that backing Arsenal drives me insane so I'll settle for watching it with a :beer or:beer:beer :cheers

Re: Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round, 1st Leg, Tue/Wed 12th/13th August Juve playing magnificient stuff at the moment. Trezeguet, Del Piero and Iaquinta are just a little too much for Artmedia. The home side totally dominate the midfield and launch one atttack after another. Will be a long night for the guests.

Re: Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round, 1st Leg, Tue/Wed 12th/13th August Last bet for me tonight, Vitoria Guimaraes to win, simply rate the Portuguese football a lot higher, and Vitoria were good to me last season. Good luck all

Re: Champions League 3rd Qualifying Round, 1st Leg, Tue/Wed 12th/13th August

Partizan – Fenerbahce

Pick: 2T2+ (Fener to score 2+ goals)

Odds: 2.20

Stake: 10/10

I am from Serbia and I am partizan fan but I can not miss this. This i a huge value. Partizan i not strong as Fener. I watch Partizan in friendly games and they were very bed in defence. Against Botafogo they recieve 2 goals. Against Lyon they recieve 3 goals and Lyon’s best player was Sikimic, he score 2 autogoals, owngoals (I am not sure how to say that). In the second round they past Inter (it was 2-0 at home and 1-1 at Inter). And it is not all. Today Partizan iz without 4 players. Fejsa and Tosic are in China and Juca is out becouse of injury. Moreira will not play (yellow cards). Juca and Moreira are maybe their best players.

Fener is much better. It is excellent team which play in quorter finals of Champions League last year. And they are stronger than last year. They bought Guiza and Emre and Aragones is here too. They did not lost any of their best player. Alex, Semih, Carlos, Lugano, Edu.... are here. In the second round they play against MTK and score 7 goals (2 at home and 5 as away team.

And just to say something about the odds. In Serbia odds on Fener to win are about 1.85.

Sorry for my bed English.

GL

FT 2-2

Single won

Well done for Partizan. They play very good but they were unlucky.
