Re: Gingers (Flat) Winners 08 Borderlescott has unfashionable connections and as such tends to be a value price when taking on southerners. Showed he might be able to improve again this season with an impressive win on reappearance (5f soft). Has the benefit of a run over his main rivals. Equally effective at 5f or 6f, his record in the Stewards Cup suggests he has enough speed for this. Dandy Man has his first run for Godolphin (was with Miss T. Collins). If able to improve him slightly may be capable of winning in top company this term. Loves a sound surface and races prominently. Godolphin's older horses are in better form than their three year olds. Fleeting Spirit beat Kingsgate Native and Captain Gerrard in the Molecomb then a good second to Natagora, a long way clear of the third. However, she is only small and may not train on. Comes from an excellant stable. Off The Record and Fullandby were 1st and 3rd in a top handicap last time. Both could improve again. The former is another front runner who will find it more difficult to dominate his field here. Fullandby may struggle for pace. Enticing ran well on reappearance but goes very well fresh. May get the race run to suit today but does not find much under pressure. Only just stays 5f. Tax Free is at his very best on an easy surface. Both selections are usually prominent runners but do not have to lead.

Re: Gingers (Flat) Winners 08 O.k. From now on I am upping stakes instead of betting to win £200 at my true odds, it is up to £250 for the main bet. e.g. Was... If I thought a horse had a 33% chance of winning. 33% = 2/1. I would need to put £100 on to win £200 at 2/1 so £100 was the bet on anything bigger than 2/1. Now a 33% 2/1 chance will have £125 at bigger than 2/1. A 20% 4/1 shot was £50 now £63 etc. Although £150 will be the biggest bet per horse, £175 per race. For those of you who want to gage how much your bet should be. My average bet in this thread per race is currently £69. I expect it to go up to at least £83 now. Ginge

With him going for a third Gold Cup there are doubts surrounding the participation of stable companion Septimus (who I believe is the better horse). Coastal Path has proven he is in form and on the up. Is by Halling (1m2f winner) but is a half brother to 2006 Gold Cup runner up Reefscape, by Linamix (miler / 1m2f). Coastal Path is already a winner at 2m (1m 7 1/2f) and should get the extra half mile. Ginge

As you see Mileni I backed the horse twice, once having £50 @ 5/1, then when he went for a walk in the market £10 @ 10/1. £10 @ 10/1 returns £110 yes, but £50 @ 5/1 returns £300, making a total return of £410. Sorry for the confusion, I did not think it would go down well if I claimed two wins in one race.:unsure:lol Or can I claim two wins and a second?;) Ginge

At least Eddie Freemantle on RUK agreed with three of my four value bets (Finjaan, Peppertree Lane and Charlie Farnsbarns). I did manage to get out on Finjaan by laying a little late (did not manage to put it up here though). Seconditus sucks. Will be back with a few for Goodwood. Ginge

I haven't seen many of the Derby trials but the other night on Racing Uk they showed them all. I have to say I was really impressed with this horse and the ride it was given, sat off the pace, picked them off with a touch of class and there is a point about 2f out when it gets its legs right and just goes past horses with ease. I only managed to get about 6.8 or something on Betfair, may have missed some of the value but can't ignore it as I think it has a real chance. Also 1st chance I had seen Tartan Bearer and not that impressed to be honest, wish I had put Tajaweed in my 10 to follow instead.

Re: Gingers (Flat) Winners 08 2:30 Swift Princess is improving and acts on soft. One worry is the improvement has come at 5f (has won at 6f on good-soft, 2^nd on heavy). This sharp track is not much of a stamina test. Is not a great race for a class 2 handicap. Viking Spirit is perhaps the main danger if coming on for reappearance (only 18^th of 24)., Acts well on soft / 6f. Conquest is a dog. Ebraam may be at his very best at 5f on the all weather. The Lord ran an awful race on reappearance but that was back in March. Dual winner here and acts on soft. If (big if) fit could go well at a big price as could get a soft lead. Worth keeping an eye for a market move. 3:35 Bankable won easily in a handicap last time but this is a much better race. Represents poor value and worth opposing (I have him as an 11/4 chance). Ordnance Row is consistent and does not go down without a fight. Won last time on firm, most of his good form is on softer and may be able to improve on this surface. Usually races prominently which may help here. Stable in good form. Laa Rayb is interesting but yet to run on ground this soft and is by Storm Cat so is doubtful. Has been temperamental but is improving. Lady Gloria is on the up as well but needs to be against the colts. Ran well here last time, acts on the ground and can front run. Vanderlin is surely over priced at around 33/1. Ran a very good race last time. Stays a mile and is effective on the ground. If it came to a sprint he could surprise. Anyone who likes to back one before the off and lay it in running may consider this one. 5:50 Kavachi despite the slow pace in a big handicap last time at 10f, showed a terrific burst of speed to win from the back of a large field at Newbury. Therefore, this drop back in trip should not be against him. Goes well on soft. Cape Hawk has his chance but looks too short considering is unproven on the going. Mujood may have reached his level and this trip might stretch his stamina on the ground. Very Wise has not beaten a single runner for some time so I can not be backed with confidence. But has a good chance if fit and well, has conditions to suit. Position in betting suggests more is expected today. Salient could be over priced, ran poorly, poorly drawn in a big handicap at Ascot last time. Might get his own way in front if not taken on by Very Wise. Possibly wants the ground to dry up a bit. Previously this season there has been a dolled out rail that came to an end 1 ½ furlongs out. This was not in position yesterday and so may favour those ridden prominently today. Ginge
