Billy..........if I picked 4 horses in a race, how many bets is it to cover them in forecasts ? Is it 6 like doubles in a Yankee ? Actually........is it 12 ?...........
Yes it is but you have to double it, as you need to have the F/C both ways. 4 selections = 12 F/C's - 24 T/C's 5 selections = 20 F/C's - 60 T/C's 6 selections = 120 T/C's

Re: Casting The Net (A BTP Specialisation Thread) To calculate F/C's and T/C's use this formula; Forecasts, multiply number of selections by same number minus 1 4 selections; 4 x 3 =12 Tricasts, multiply number of selections by same number minus 1 by same number minus 2 4 selections ; 4 x 3 x 2 = 24

If my sprint handicap study takes off I might give it a go.......on the basis that it must be a better use of scarce form study time to study one race and pick 4 horses than to study 4 races and pick one from each...........:lol

With the former scenario, I suppose it shows your research is good, and that you have been a little unlucky. With the latter, you get frustrated because two failed to place but at least if they lose in style you don't have the frsutration of being done in a photo etc. Hair is saved and fewer objects in the home are broken! I just wondered what others though about this. I think I personally would prefer it if my horses did get done in a photo if they are going to get beat. It's so frustrating in the moments after a race but at least it shows your selections were justified in getting close.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS want to be beaten a whisker if I'm beat. If I'm beat I want to be unlucky. I never want to be tailed or even beat on merit. In the past, in my early days, they'd be times when I would study even if I couldn't afford a bet, I still wanted them to win. It proves your judgement is right, which will ultimately lead to profits.

Keep hitting the woodwork and think it'll be back on track soon. End of the day you tipped up the 1-2-3, I dont read too much into peoples P/L figures to be honest anyway, lets face it how many would stake nearly 4k on F/C's and 3k on T/C's in a month, i know its all relative and you say yourself you have many other bets that dont go up on the PL due to the time constraints, the information and the knowledge is the important bit.
