Re: Rugby League - Super League XIII Round 10 I'm going to take the away sides tonight. 10pts Catalans +8 to beat Huddersfield Evs Bet365 Catalans Dragons come into this match on a 4 match unbeaten run which bodes well for them. In years gone by I've thought of them as a team which can't travel but they've shown in beating Castleford and Harlequins away from home this season that is no longer the case. Huddersfield in fact have taken over Catalans' travelling woes but they are a strong side at the Galpharm as wins over St Helens and a thrashing of Castleford showed. Catalans are very strong up front though and they have lots of flair in behind so they will score points. The return of Adam Mogg and Justin Murphy should help the French side. Huddersfield are carrying a couple of injuries and while I think they'll just edge this, I certainly think the Catalans pack can cause enough problems that they stay within the 8pts start they receive. 10pts Bradford to beat Hull 8/11 Betfred Both these sides have injury problems ahead of this match but I think the form coming into this match gives Bradford the edge. Since the double loss to Wigan and Saints earlier in the season - both of whom were on top of their games against the Bulls - Bradford have won 4 of their 5 matches with a loss to a rampant Leeds side being the only black mark on that run. Hull have only won 1 of their last 6 matches though and that was a home win over Wakefield in a match which Wakefield were poor. Half back Adam Dykes misses out for the Black and Whites tonight and he's been playing well recently so he'll be a big loss. There's a lot of youth in the Hull side and I think the experience and slightly stronger squad of Bradford will run out winners at the KFC Stadium tonight.

Re: Rugby League - Super League XIII Round 10 Taking the overs on the Huddersfield game, both teams are scoring well but are still shipping a load of points too, Huddersfield are a very attack minded team and can run up big scores at home. The weather is looking good, making for some good attacking plays. Over 46.5 5/6 @ bet365 The Bradford game is one that i'm a bit wary of, Bulls have a few players out and playing their 4th game in 15 days with a depleted squad is a big ask. Hull at home are a threat if they get off to a fast start and get the crowd behind them but they are playing poorly at the moment, an inform Bulls should cover the hcp. Been persuaded by the price on this one, need Bulls to get off to good start and get on top early. Bradford to win both halves 9/4 @ Bet365

Re: Rugby League - Super League XIII Round 10

Nice calls Kev :ok
Cheers mate, was nice to start the season off in good form. I'm leaving tomorrow's matches alone though. We're a bit Jekyll and Hyde at the minute and Hull KR don't do consistency either and in the TV game Wigan have a great record at Leeds in recent times - they won all 3 league games against them last season but lost the final eliminator although they were knackered going into that match. Don't really want to take Leeds on though in their current form, especially with Barrett missing. Might decide a small stake on Wigan in some way tomorrow but not with as much confidence as I'd have had with Barrett playing.

Re: Rugby League - Super League XIII Round 10 Taking Wigan +16 tonight, Leeds are missing Maguire and Jones-buchanan but may have Lee Smith back. Wigan are most likley going to missing Barret with Mathers playing stand off against his old team. I think Leeds will win this but as Kev say's Wigan are a bit of a bogey team for the Rhino's, we always seem to struggle against them for some reason. Wigan +16 8/15 @ Ladbrokes Also going to back Luke Burgess to score anytime, he's scored 2 in 5 games and will get the ball a bit more with Jones-Buchanan out. Luke Burgess anytime scorer 8/1 @ Skybet

Nice shout mate. Missed the 1st 20 minutes coming back from the footy but the last 60 was a helluva game. I didn't bet myself which was annoying but I'll take comfort from my 12/1 on Wigan for the Grand Final isn't looking too bad at the minute.

Like Phil Carke said, Wigan are now playing better without Barrett, they were giving him the ball and expecting things to happen. When he comes back and if they continue to play as a team and not a one man army i think the 12's you got will look like the biggest mistake a bookie's ever made. Nice win for the Quins today:ok

I agree mate. I actually thought if tiredness hadn't caught up with them in that semi final of the playoffs last year that Wigan would've won it last year but I don't expect them to finish 6th this year and they could even sneak into the top 2 so their path to Old Trafford should be a bit easier. They've definitely got the players to win it and if they defend like that for the rest of the season someone will have to be on top form to beat them. Quins needed that win today with 2 away games coming up before Millenium Magic, starting with Saints on Friday night. This season is reminding me a bit of the last time we made the playoffs, we're not doing anything special in terms of length of field tries with 1000 offloads but we play solid rugby and when we get in the red zone, with Hill, Paul and Orr we know how to create opportunities and Gafa, Sheriffe and Howell are finishing them off at the minute.

Re: Rugby League - Super League XIII Round 10 Castleford haven't been performing too bad at home, They beat Leeds and the 3 games they lost have been by no more than 7 points, Saints only have one game this season where they have won by more than 8, that was the good friday beating of Wigan. Saints away form isn't impressive defeats to Catalans, Huddersfield and Hull KR and only one win against the Bulls, i think Cas should be able to stay within 16 points here. Castleford +16 Evs @ Paddy Power Wakefield have been boosted by the return of Obst and Brough who are vital if they want to get anything out of this match, Briers is still missing for Warrington which i think is the key here, the half back pairing for Wakefield are capable of causing an upset here. Both teams had tough low scoring games last week with only 26 points scored between both matches, the weather no doubt played a big factor in that and i can't see it being a low scoring match, the over 40.5 is quite appealing as Warrington regularly rack up over 30+ points and Wakefield aren't afraid to get the ball out wide. Over 40.5 points 5/6 @ Bet365 Wakefield +6 10/11 @ Skybet

Re: Rugby League - Super League XIII Round 10 Good luck mate. I was going to back the overs at Belle Vue but conditions look like they could be a bit iffy so no more bets for me this weekend. Hope there's a few points for you though mate :ok

Re: Rugby League - Super League XIII Round 10 Good shouts on the handicaps Ronnie. This season is really tough to pick winners so nice one mate. Can't believe Cas have only won twice all season and it's Saints and Leeds they've beaten :loon. You'd have got good odds at the start of the season for Saints to be outside the top 6 after 10 games :eek.

Re: Rugby League - Super League XIII Round 10 Cheers m8, Cas would be a lot higher up the league if they showed the same commitment against the so called lesser teams and not just the big boys, they've been unlucky to lose by a few points in a few games now and may well start to climb up the ladder now. Saints are too inconsistent for me, but still expected them to be up there half way through the season. Maybe a lay @ 1.25 on betfair that they don't make the play offs might be in order :ok

Good calls Ronnie. I think it would take a very brave man to lay Saints in my opinion for qualifying for the play offs. Yep, poor result today but with Leeds losing there 3 or 4 weeks ago it's not completely disasterous. I mentioned a few weeks ago that I don't believe Leeds are as good as the Sky commentators were making out, especially during their victory against Bradford. Looking at the table, I think Saints are a better team than Harlequins, Wigan, Warrington and Catalans. They've had some injuries and they have some good strike players. They have been far from impressive but I just think they've got enough in the locker. If you don't think they will qualify or struggle to, maybe it would be better to oppose them each week instead of tying the brass up for so long ? Good weekend Ronnie, Well done :ok:beer

Re: Rugby League - Super League XIII Round 10 Cheers Punto, not that brave really, more an indication that i think this is the worse saint's side for a couple of years, they seem to be going through a period of the old guard seeing in the young blood. I think they may well dominate in a couple of season's time though.
