WorkingForTheEnemy
(ATR mods, feel free to move if better off in Cheltenham forum) One of my bets I like to do at Cheltenham is the placepot, as I guess is the same for many. Placepots at Cheltenham usually play well, often up near £1000 or so. I thought we could have a thread for anyone having a go to list their selections. 2.00 Muirhead - Cork All Star - Deep Purple 2.35 Leslingtaylor - Krugruyova - Clopf 3.15 Katchit - Osana 4.00 King Harald - Fundamentalist 4.40 Le Duc - Heads Onthe Ground 5.20 Ashkazar - Grand Schlem 144 lines @ 10p Also doing the ones in bold in one line for £
bigs
Re: Cheltenham Placepots The only problem is that in the bookie I use... I have to do them by hand... but I probably work something like that too mate! with 2 selections/race @ odds bigger than 7/
bigs
Re: Cheltenham Placepots 2.00 - Snap Tie @ 16/1 - Muirhead @ 8/1 2.35 - Lesling Taylor @ 16/1 - Tidal Bay @ 7/1 3.15 - Katchit @ 9/1 - Catch Me @ 10/1 4.00 - Mon Mome @ 12/1 - Fundamentalist @ 12/1 Cant really find anything else at decent price other than Le Duc and Grand Schelm. The other 2 would be Wonder Kid & Ashkazar but prices are short enough no to include them. So will put more than 10p per line! ;)
Carl
Re: Cheltenham Placepots Dont matter what the prices are bigs as its a dividend on a pool. The payout is the same regardless of if you pick all the outsiders and I pick all the short priced placed horse, as long as they place 'in the money' then we both get a share of the pot.:ok
bigs
Re: Cheltenham Placepots Didn't knew that! :) Thanks Carl! Anyway, I'm going to do 8 E/W lines with those guys ;)

SteveO
Re: Cheltenham Placepots The only problem is that in the bookie I use... I have to do them by hand... but I probably work something like that too mate! with 2 selections/race @ odds bigger than 7/1 You really confused me there bigs but like Carl says it's a dividend. I always look for odds bigger than 5/1 with Lucky 15's. At least if u get just winner you'll heave treble the odds back and therefore guaranteed a profit. I have to laugh at people who continually do these kind of bets with odds like 8/11 etc a total waste of a bet.
billy the punter
Re: Cheltenham Placepots Cheltenham is one of the few times in the year where I give the 'mug bet' some consideration. And I spent some time earlier selecting tomorrow's. Leg 1 - Pasco / Sentry Duty / Striking Article Leg 2 - Tidal Bay / Kruguyrova / Clopf Leg 3 - Sizing Europe Leg 4 - Patsy Hall / King Harald / Fundamentalist Leg 5 - Garde Champetre/ Head Onthe Ground Leg 6 - Ashkazar 54 lines With my two bankers I can afford to be multi-handed in other races where I don't fancy the jolly/fancied runners. Obviously I'll need a little luck in the first, but if I scrape through that, I fancy my chances.
