Re: Champions League (Feb 19th)

Hi im new on here. Ive gone for a treble: LIVERPOOL ROMA SCHALKE :hope:hope:hope All 3 away teams will be happy to leave with narrow defeats and an away goal or two and hope to turn the ties around at home. I also think Olympiacos will beat Chelsea 1-0 or 2-1 but not sure enough to bet on it.

Re: Champions League (Feb 19th)

First to mention, all these 4 matches involves very high risk, which are very unpredictable, which may even have 4 draws on the cards. ROMA 2-1 Real Madrid I agree with everyone that this game has a 80% for the over 2.5 goals. Roma has not been convincing recently and Madrid has been blowing hot and cold. With Sneijder and Robinho not playing for the game, it may not seem the best midfield for Madrid. I believe Spalleti will be able tactically plot and bring out the best out of Totti and have a slender lead in the first leg. Liverpool 2-0 Inter Milan One of the sentimental matches for fans of Liverpool. Kicked out by Barnsley and not performing up to standards in the EPL, with the only way to glory thru the CL. Liverpool has not been performing well of late but Benitez prove that his tactics always work in the CL. If he doesnt go into the Qfinals, he may have to go the recruitment centre and find another job. Gerrand, Torres, Mascherano, Reina are back for the team. And i have one controversial theory. When everyone expects Liverpool to perform, they underachieve. But if everyone believes Liverpool to lose and fade away, they ALWAYS do come back. Just a bit like the England team. This will be one their comeback matches :> just an intuition. Schalke 04 1-1 Porto I really want the German team to win. but Porto has been great this season. This is the match where the draw appears to be the most eminent. Home ground really counts with the Germans blasting their team. It can be great for Schalke04 or may even be stressful for the team. I believe Porto will just sit and wait for an opportunity to counterattack. I think it is better to avoid this match completely. 1X Olympiakos 0-0 Chelsea I have to admit Chelsea has been a great team to place your bets on. Very dependable and trustworthy to win matches. But this match seems really unpredictable. The Home team holds a wonderful home record and the Greeks could really post an upset. Chelsea will have their whole squad back. Chelsea to win? Greeks to post an upset? Lets just settle for a draw. X2

Re: Champions League (Feb 19th)

Here are some stats/facts from the last couple of 1/8 finals in the CL: 2007: 2-4-2 (home wins-draws-away wins) record in the 1st leg, 3 overs and 5 unders, 10 teams scored and 6 didn't; 2006: 2-3-3 (home wins-draws-away wins) record in the 1st leg, 4 overs and 4 unders, 13 teams scored and 3 didn't; So far this season in the CL we have: - 53% home wins; - 19% draws; - 28% away wins; I look at tuesdays' games and see them all very, very tight ones. Also, I'll be betting that the draw % will move a bit towards what's "normal" in football/soccer (somewhere around the 25% to 30% range) and if it goes similar to the last couple of seasons when we come to this stage in the CL (where games have in general a lot more balanced action) a high % of draws is very possible. Liverpool-Inter Milan Liverpool will be looking at showing some pride tomorrow after that horrible weekend home loss and this is actually the only competition they can still win this season. We also need to keep in mind that this team was in the CL final twice in the last 3 seasons... Inter started their CL campaign with a loss away to Fenerbahçe but after that they won all other 5 group G games. They're also having a great home season and have a very experienced and high quality team. Inter won't be taking many risks tomorrow and they can surely create danger when they attack. My pick: draw; lost Schalke-Porto Porto is a better overall team than Schalke and they have a lot more experience at this level. I see them (Porto) as the favorites for this round against the Germans but the game won't be easy in Germany where the stadium will be packed providing a boost for Schalke. I think Porto's coach will have his team playing for the draw tomorrow and will be happy with itin the away game. My pick: draw;lost Olympiakos-Chelsea Chelsea is clearly the favorite here but if they're travelling to Greece underestimating Olympiakos they might have a bitter surprise. 1st of all there will certainly be a great atmosphere at the stadium. Also, during the Group stage and at home, the Greeks beat Bremen 3-0 and tied against Real Madrid and Lazio. I also watched them playing away against Bremen and Real Madrid and they did impress me. Very good price (3.35) for the draw pick IMO. My pick: draw; won Roma-R. Madrid Always hard for any team to play away against Roma but Real Madrid are a better team despite some absences (Robinho, Pepe...) for tomorrow. I think both teams need improvement at the back (Roma allowed goals in 4 out of 6 matches in the group stage and Real allowed goals in 5 of their 6 group games) and don't look consistent (Real wins 7-0 and the next weekend loses 2-1 against lowly Betis and Roma lost 3-0 away to Siena a few weeks ago). Should be an interesting game tomorrow but I think the draw is very likely and Real will be pleased with it. My pick: draw;lost Good luck! JC
I have to admit that I'm very disappointed with tonight's results as I feel my analysis was "right on". I'll try again tomorrow. JC

^^^^^^ What he said - if you want to make fun of teams do it in chat sections, not tips sections.
Two very strong unders imo, in Olympiakos vs Chelsea and Liverpool vs Inter. In both cases the stronger team, in theory anyway, is the away side. Chelsea have an incredible unders record this season, and Olympiakos is a tough place to visit; I suspect that they will be happy enough to just keep it very, very tight, and a 0-0 or 1-0 either way would not surprise me at all. Olympiakos have gone under in 54% of home league games, Chelsea in 84% of away games. And then Liverpool vs Inter. This is Liverpool's last chance of silverware, and despite their general cackiness recently Benitez is a master tactician in these game. In the league, Inter have been unders in 72% of away games, while Liverpool have been unders in 50%. But the importance of not conceding the away goal here will, I expect, keep this a very tight affair. Short odds for either, but a double would pay 2.56 with Partybets.
:nana I actually had them in a treble with unders from the Palace game, as well as a big bet on unders for Chelsea. Sweet! Shame Swansea couldn't make it a perfect night.
Roma are unbreakeable at home of late, and they also like to keep clean sheets at the Olimpico. real are vulnerable on their travels, but are the best European team at home grounds, so if roma were to have any chance to progress they must win here, and keep a clean sheet too. Thus the 1-0 is as good as the draw in terms of probability, and the gam is also likely to go UNDER 2.5 goals as Roma will want to keep a clean sheet and Real will probably play for keeps dragging their opponents back to their castle at the Bernabeu where they are fully capable of inflicting a heavy defeat on them.
:clap:ok Nice one for flagging this, after I saw Roma's home form I backed them, cheers!

I assume your still hurting from this:
Yes thats right shambolic Celtic beating Man Ure 1-0. Just another example of Celtic beating English opposition despite your claims we are terrible and play in a mickey mouse league. Yet we went to Anfield and won 2-0, and Ewood Park and won 2-0, to be honest its getting a little boring, we have played the best you have to offer and won time and time again. While we were taking AC Milan to extra time last year Utd were getting pummelled 3-0 by the same opposition. It seems you like a lot of other Utd fans can't handle the fact Celtic fans p*ss all over you and your joke club, run by Glazer to make a profit, you are nothing but a global brand full of glory hunting cockneys and supporters from Asia and North America who support Utd as a result of the brand, fair play to the fans of FC Utd who took a stand and realized unlike Celtic your club has no soul. Barcelona may well win but Celtic have nothing to prove to anyone, nevermind a dimwitted clown like yourself, any lurking moderators could you please remove this guys posts as he is making a mockery of a good forum with plenty of decent tipsters, run along now until its time for Celtic to beat you again. Hope you enjoy eating your prawn sandwich while watching that free kick :rollin

Firslty, you little muppet, are you steamin..? I dont suppose Celtics home record in the CL means anything to people like you...? Celtic can only play the opposition put in front of them week in week out ( which I might add is not half as bad as you people make out e.g. Aberdeen drawing with the German Champions?) , doesnt mean they are a bad team. Secondly, if you were a real punter (maybe your not old enough to gamble yet....I dunno) you would take into consideration Celtics excellent home record in the CL in which we have defeated far better teams than Barcelona in their current form, not to mention beating Man Utd :lol. I suggest you consult these stats before making such bold predictions. You seem to have a chip on your shoulder about Celtic, maybe its cause we beat you at Parkhead and as mentioned earlier, drew twice with a team that literally pumped you's 3-0, however this forum is not intended to introduce slagging matches, so I would sincerely hope any moderators looking at this thread, take into consideration not only the garbage you post but also the manner in which you do it, and take appropiate action. Mon the hoops ( Hail Hail )

Have to whole-heartedly agree with the response from the guys on the PL with regards to this pathetic post. I really dont know who the **** you think you are. This place isnt for people like you whose sole purpose is to wind up fellow PL member by slagging off their teams, this place is for considered opinions to help each other with their picks. It appears obvious that you are indeed incapable of doing so. I aint going to waste my time on you again, I went right through you earlier on and I'm glad to see the response has mirrored mine so I'll leva e you with one last piece of advice. That money you were going to put on Barca 3-1, keep it. Use it to pay a taxi driver to take you to the nearest bridge and do us all a favour and take a long run and jump! We dont need idiots like you here.

Well done !:ok
Thanks Nicko:ok:ok:nana:nana made some nice money Im not playin anyone tonight cos its to close, Arsenal are the only one im sure of, but if i was bettin i wud go for: Arsenal Fenerbahce Barcelona Arsenal to just edge this one because Milan have a lot of injury worries, Arsenal have something to prove after Man Us thrashing last Saturday and Wenger has a v good record against italian sides. Fenerbahce although Sevilla have been on some good form and are more or less unbeatable over 2 legs i still think Fenerbahce have the advantage of the hostile crowd which makes what is a strong team anyway even stornger to just snatch this one but will lose over the 2 legs. Barcelona Thers no doubt Celtic are 1 of the toughest teams to play at home, ther record speaks for itself, despite how poor the SPL is but i still think Barca have something to prove after havin a poor time so far in the Primer Liga and will just have too much more Celtic in this 1 and will win 1-0 as even though Rijkaard is serving a touchline ban he still has Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto'o and Thierry Henry to pick from which shud be enuf to see off Celtic. Then again who knows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eyes:eyes
