henry
Re: Super League 02/02 No Paul Cooke in the KR ranks. If Kr stand a chance in this one Cookey would be pivotal. KR certainly look on paper sturdier than last year. Some good acquisitions. Could be set for a good year. I fancy Leeds to be too strong here though. Leeds at full strength as they are should win and want to build some momentum for the World Club Challenge or maybe it could be a little distracting.(I recall Saints being a bit ropey against the Giants in a simlar game last year). Definate Leeds win but by how many I dont know. Its too early doors for me for a punt. If pushed I might go for the -6 Leeds at various bookes. Think the -6 is HT handicap. Leeds Rhinos-14 2-6 1.44-18 2.5-12.5 1.86-14 1.9-13.5 1.9-14 1.9-18 2.5-14 1.9-14 1.9-12.5 1.85-14 1.9-12 1.9-14 1.9-14 1.9-6 1.44-14 1.9-18 2.5-10 1.53-14 1.9-14.5 1.9-18 2.5-14 1.9-12 1.8-12.5 1.88+10.5 1.06-12.5 1.84-24.5 4.1Hull KR+14 2+6 2.75+18 1.53+12.5 2+14 1.9+13.5 1.9+14 1.9+18 1.53+14 1.9+14 1.9+12.5 1.95+14 1.9+12 1.9+14 1.9+14 1.9+6 2.75+14 1.9+18 1.53+10 2.5+14 1.9+14.5 1.8+18 1.53+14 1.9+12 2+12.5 2.02-10.5 6.8+12.5 2.06+24.5 1.26Handicap Tie171717-17-17171717-171717171717171717-171715---- I'll go with one hoping to continue in the form I finished last season with. 10pts Hull KR +14.5pts to beat Leeds 4/5 Totesport This looks a pretty big handicap for the champions to cover to me. 1st of all conditions aren't going to be ideal. It's going to be bitterly cold, wintry and could even be wet too. That's not good conditions for loads of points. 2nd reason why this looks big is Hull KR have recruited very well in the off season and some are even touting them as possibilities for the 6. That could be a bit far fetched but the likes of Chev Walker, Shaun Briscoe, Clint Newton, Ben Galea and of course Jake Webster are all quality signings without a doubt. Justin Morgan is a clever coach and he looks to have strengthened his defence and going forward KR showed last year they can score tries. Leeds haven't signed anybody but they did lose their highly influential coach Tony Smith to Great Britain. Kiwi, Brian McLennan has taken the reins and it will be interesting to see how he gets this Leeds side playing. There's no denying Leeds are a class outfit. They showed that last season. These 2 met 3 times last season and this handicap was only covered once but with Hull KR looking much stronger this season I think they'll stay fairly close to Leeds in a match I don't expect to have too many points. henry
Re: Super League 02/02 The -6 is availible FT but only @ a paltry 1.44 and given the weather conditions like you say, if I was going to take a price in that area Itd be more wise the 1.53 for +18. Theres snow all over the place here in Leeds. KR do look stronger this year and its going to be interesting to see how they front up to the likes of Leeds. If Cookie was playing I mightve been tempted by the KR handicap. He was immense when he was part of the Hull FC team that put 40 plus on the board at Headingly not too much in the past. The +14 does look tempting though. Rhinos have just come back from sunning it up in Florida to play in the cold and ice. Rather them than me. Ronnie
Re: Super League 02/02 Having seen the team news that Rhino's are at full strength and Hull kr may well be playing with a few returning from injury and with Cooke out, it tempts me to back Rhino's -12 with Ladbrokes. I can't see how Rhino's aren't going to score 4+ tries in this match, going to back Webb for the 1st try 11/1 with Skybet and also back him to score anytime 10/11 with Ladbrokes. The snow has virtually all gone now but the pitch no doubt will be well looked after and may not get too soft. Henry, Rhino's came back on monday, so have had all week to get used to the headingley cold again ;)

Good call as usual Kev :ok. Unlucky Ronnie. Gonna wait 'til theres a full (-ish) program of games next week before having a bet. I was impressed with KR tonight but Leeds just seemed to have the edge in terms of fitness at this early stage of the season. Glad the Rugby's back.
