Washman
Will be packing my bags tomorrow night for my flight to Melbourne Saturday morning :ok Temperature dropping to 30 degrees by Sunday when I arrive - not too bad I suppose :lol Planning on playing limit RSE game on Monday afternoon (AUS $550 buy-in) with Sky winnings, then a few days of relaxation mixed with PP and IE freerolls if I can wake up in time. Main event starts on the 14th so I should be well settled by then. Will post updates and photos as I go along all being well :ok

BAM
Re: Aussie Millions Good luck both, and have a great time all. So what exactly did you get up to while you were there, Brian? :unsure :D It depends what you are into but I am into history and with Oz being a relatively new country there is very little to be found. The old gaol is very interesting as it was built by the early settlers (convicts) and it charts how the town developed through the 19th and 20th century and the way the curators have done it is amazing to see. It is also the place they took Ned Kelly after his capture and hung him, it is amazing how one of the aussies biggest heros was a violent robber and murderer but they seem to skip that issue and tell you he was a simple Irish man minding his own business and was being persecuted by the English :rollin:rollin:rollin...you gotta love them aussies

GaF
Re: Aussie Millions I don't know anything about Ned Kelly :$ - so just googled him - reading the wikipedia article - please tell me it's a wind up and there wasn't really a chinaman called "Ah Fook" :lol :lol :lol In 1869' date=' 14-year-old Ned was arrested for assaulting a Chinese pig farmer named Ah Fook.[5] Ah Fook claimed that he had been robbed by Ned, whose story was that Ah Fook had a row with his sister Annie. Ned spent ten days in custody before the charges were dismissed. From then on the police regarded him as a "juvenile bushranger".
AJ
Re: Aussie Millions Things to do in Mlb ? Ohh tons really, great city. Head down to St Kilda pier at night and check out the penguins, go up the rialto tower 2nd tallest building in the southern hemisphere, take a tram ride; there is a free service that goes round most of the touristy spots. You can head out of town and go up the dandenong mountains, stunning views at the top. Take a tour of the MCG. Have some cold beers in Fed square and watch the world go past. I was going to write, go to the Crown Casino for some poker, but I guess it's already on your list. :lol

I'm not sure why (gold rush?) but Melbourne had a lot of Chinese immigrants in the 19th Century and has a very large community now. The best pub in Melbourne is in China town The Exford, me and Jeffers had a booze in there a couple of times with Freddy Flintoff and some random aussie called Brownie. Washman
Re: Aussie Millions Bloody hell -thats a long couple of flights!! Arrived at my hotel at about 10.45pm Sunday after leaving Heathrow at 11.30 am Saturday. Service was good though, and plenty of food to keep Avon going next week!!!! Worse than the flight was finding out that the hotel bar was already shut by the time I got here :wall:wall:wall - so its the minibar for tonight till I find somewhere local 2moro. :hope
runadrum
Re: Aussie Millions good to hear you've arrived two quick questions (bound to be more !) did you have to change planes ? are you on a laptop or hotel pc ? :ok
Washman
Re: Aussie Millions Hi Duncan - yes you do have to change planes, but with the online check-in you get both boarding cards, and you don't have to worry about luggage in Hong Kong, just go through another security check and thats it. I couldn't believe how easy everything was. I'm on my laptop - paid about £18 for 6 hours use of wireless connection. If I wake up early on Tuesday will play in IE freeroll - was going to play Poker Player GP aswell, but can't log into betfair over here :sad
