SteveO
Re: The Mole I'd bet his whole stack, to make it look like a big steal. If he has a boat he's definitely gonna call thus you gain the max! Quite often I'll make big bets on the river when I have the nuts depends on the opponent and the situation of course.
gavham
Re: The Mole Ok here is how i saw it. he had 1 of 3 hands- a bluff, a set or a flush. if he is on a bluff it doesnt matter what i bet. if its a set he would call a 1k bet and a half chance at the all in ( too many dangers, but you never know). if he has the flush he will call the all in, unlikley he will put it down. He couldnt have quads, straight, or full house because he would have def raised the turn. My point to this is many people would bet 1k and get paid but they are missing a great opportunity the_mole All-in 8964.50 MANOUEL All-in 3219.00 *** Showdown *** : Rake: 3.00 Total Pot: 6935.00 Mr.chill. voiceofjoe
Re: The Mole I always used to play 10 man tables until I started reading Moles thread, and TBH was doing OK multi tabling 3/4. But since I've read this thread I've begun 6 Seaters and apart from having a good run, I'm finding it less of a grind, and less of the cards you play and more of the people. Following on from that I would appreciate thoughts (from Mole, or anyone else) if I played these wrong and got lucky or played them correctly and got my just reward. I haven't looked up to see if I was doing the correct thing statistically - but on both occassions 'felt' it was the correct thing to do The first fellow had a tendency to overbet the pot quite a lot and had previously been all-in on a T96 flop holding 22 and hit the set on the Turn NL $0.10/$0.20 Texas Hold'em - Saturday, December 08, 22:50:19 GMT 2007 Table Sodium 20 6-max (Real Money) Seat 1: Hansen38 ( $33.98 ) Button: pokerben ( $19.47 ) SB: kahapa ( $21.32 ) BB: eltorero ( $2.80 ) Seat 5: kao ( $32.79 ) Seat 6: Fm2005 ( $12.43 ) kahapa posts small blind [$0.10] eltorero posts big blind [$0.20] Preflop: Fm2005 is dealt Q♠, K♠ kao calls $0.20, Fm2005 raises to $0.90, Hansen38 folds, pokerben folds, kahapa calls $0.80, eltorero folds, kao raises to $4.20, Fm2005 calls $3.30, kahapa folds Flop: 5♥, T♥, J♣ 1 checks, Fm2005 bets all in $8.23, kao calls $8.23 **Showdown** kao shows 5♠, J♠ Fm2005 shows Q♠, K♠ Turn: 6♣ River: 9♣ Fm2005 wins $24.67 from main pot with a straight, King to Nine

voiceofjoe
Re: The Mole BTW if anyone uses Betfair for playing I would recommend downloading the Poker Buddy. Its good for reviewing your sessions, shows opponents mucked River cards - and they are due to add more features. I presume its going to become akin to a watered down Poker Tracker for Betfair hands

GaF
Re: The Mole I dont know the answer - this is all it says on wikipedia Opening all-in hands When all players are all in, or one player is playing only against opponents who are all in, no more betting can take place. Some casinos and many major tournaments require that all players still involved open, or immediately reveal, their hole cards in this case—the dealer will not continue dealing until all hands are flipped up. Likewise, any other cards that would normally be dealt face down, such as the final card in seven-card stud, may be dealt face-up. This rule discourages a form of collusion called "chip dumping", in which one player deliberately loses his chips to another to give that player a greater chance of winning the tournament. GaF
Re: The Mole Steph, What's the lowest level you haven't been able to beat? Bit of a strange question, so I'll explain where I'm coming from..... There seems a perception amongst a lot of PL'rs that if players are too bad, then you cannot beat them - whereas I tend to think that they make bigger mistakes and so you should be beating them even easier - have you ever played the lowest level? (5c/10c) and can you beat it well?

Do You use the notes facility online to keep a record on how certain people play? No i don't, the only poker tracker/notes i have are all in ma big heid. Also most good players change their play a lot so you have to see how they are playing at that time. But you do learn the basics of everyones game and give certain players bets more respect than others.
