Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov The games are very tricky IMO, maybe Valencia -1 handicap would do the job as they got a win against Mallorca after the dizaster with Real. This one will be for the fans . Also Chelsea look nice as Schalke will miss their striker Kuranyi. Olimpiakos - Real Madrid could go so easy over as Real's defence is sleeping and you saw what happenned at Bernabeu. Combo : Chelsea x2, Valencia -1, Olimpiakos - Real over 2.5

Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov Valencia-Rosenborg Valencia need to win this game to have any chance to qualify to the next stage.I know talking about revenge might be inrelevant but i have monitored valencia for some time and they are a team who likes to take revenge.Rosenborg have only won once before in cl away matches and this match for me is quite like a banker. The fans surely demand a win or nothing else from the players after their biggest home defeat against madrid last week.Koeman taking charge for his first home game would be another motivation.Rosenborg have already overachieved this season in cl and they should be very motivated too but valencia at home is too much class for them. Valencia -1.50 [email protected] 10/10

Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov I was in Lisbon for the Benfica v Celtic match a fortnight ago and thought that if Celtic took the game to them they would have won over there. As it was Strachan went with one up front and whilst McGeady tried to support Killen there just weren't enough numbers getting forward. I think a more positive Celtic side will beat Benfica on Tuesday. Celtic's contrasting home and away records in the CL are well documented and this should be another home win. I think Benfica lost last midweek in the cup too (to Setubal?) and judging by the home crowd a few weeks ago they're not doing too well.

Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov It seems that Shalke has serious injury concerns. The huge blow is of course Kevin Kuranyi, but another very important player - Gerald Asamoah is in not good shape and may miss. Those are fresh news. The other bunch of players I don't from how long they don't play and how important they. This just showed up on the shalke web site - rought translation Fabian Ernst with a grippalen infection - could not train Gerald Asamoahs use against the English vice-champion is on the edge of a precipice. The German national striker had the training on Monday morning because of an irritation in the knee abort. fail for sure Kevin Kuranyi, Christian Pander (inner band strain), Darío Rodríguez (inflammation of the Patellasehne), Mathias Abel (Cruciate Ligament Tear), Halil Altintop, Gustavo Varela (both muscle fiber tear), Levan Kobiashvili (Adduktorenabriss) and Markus Heppke (shoulder injury) Chelsea are without long missing John Terry and left-back Ashley Cole this is another news from Uefa site Injuries Kevin Kuranyi has become the latest name to join an injury list already containing influential players such as Christian Pander and Halil Altıntop, while Fabian Ernst and Gerald Asamoah are also doubtful to face Chelsea, who beat Schalke 2-0 in London a fortnight ago. However, Jones is stoic. "We try to get on with things," he said. "We train the same way we've always done and we've got faith in our medical staff - they've done well so far. There have been one or two minor niggles and they've managed to get the players fit in time so it's not their fault

Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov

I'd rather say the must factor is on the L'pool side;)
Absolutely! But I think I'll miss this one. On the other hand the current leaders (OMG:puke) in Liverpool's group are going to play tomorrow and i think that the result will be one big nothing! My picks are under- 9/10 draw- 5/10 0:0 and 1:1- 2/10

Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov

I'm backing Valencia lads, a banker, 3 reasons why?? 1. new manager in charge. 2. won their last match against 9th place real mallorca 0-2 away. 3. revenge is on the minds of the valencia players, after rosenborg beat them 2-0 at their place. cheers!!!!!!!!!!
4. David Villa should be back.

Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov

Beşiktaş must win.
I must have Monica Belucci! :loon If Liverpool doesn't win, it won't continue competition in Champions League. OK, it doesn't mean that they will win in that match, but Liverpool is host and I think Liverpool has much better team than Besiktas. In Premier League, Liverpool in this season, Liverpool hasn't any defeat. They had similar situation in Champions League three years ago. They played against Olympiakos and needed a victory with two goals difference. And, they did that. Now, they need a victory, again, to keep their hopes of making the next round alive. My pick: Liverpool win :ok

Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov Just like Benfica seemed over-priced in Lisbon I think the same can be said of Celtic tomorrow night. Our contrasting home and away form has been covered and I think evens is a nice price for Celtic. Its a must win game with Milan and Shakhtar both on 6 points after Celtic went down 1-0 in Lisbon. While Benfica were worthy winners in Lisbon, they weren't overly impressive and I think Celtic will get the job done here 1 or 2-0. Pick Celtic Liverpool and Valencia look like home bankers against Besiktas and Rosenborg. Two shocks of matchday 3 came when Besiktas beat liverpool 2-1 while the Norwegian side overcame Valencia. Liverpool now must win to stand a chance of reaching the knockout stage, while Valencia will want revenge and they should even have enough to take on the -1 handicap. Schalke seem to have a heap of injury worries including German striker Kevin Kuranyi. Chelsea have been on fire since Avram Grant came in and I don't see them losing this one, Schalke have already lost to Valencia on home soil. They are no mugs though even with injuries so Chelsea -0.5 at 2.16 may be worth looking at, which returns your stake if the match ends in a stalemate. Good Luck All:gimme:beer

Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov Porto - Marseille Pick: Porto Win @ 1.80 (Totesport) 10/10 Porto is undefeated in their league while Marseille can't seem to buy a win in the French League and are right at the bottom of the table. In the game at Marseille, Porto outplayed Marseille IMO. The French team was very lucky as they have been overall in their CL results so far. Porto should defeat Marseille and essentially move one step closer to qualifying for the next round. Schalke - Chelsea Pick: Chelsea Win @ 2.25 (Coral) 10/10 Great odds for the Chelsea win in my opinion. Chelsea is in top form at the moment and Schalke isn't and is suffering from important injuries to the roster. Schalke was defeated by Valencia in their home match. Chelsea defeated Valencia in Spain and I think the English side has more overall quality on their side and is catching Schalke at a time when the German side isn't at their best.

Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov

Are you sure you gave than AH correctly for Chelsea, Marty? -1/2 means you get nothing back at all in case of a draw, it's the same as backing a team to win - doesn't the cap read 0?
Apologies, I'm new to AH betting mate so bear with me. Got the price on betfair, its at the bottom of the AH list on the Shalke v Chelsea game, when you enter the stake, it says 0.00 beside a draw but not that you lose anything so I thought you would get your stake back? Although this doesn't seem right considering its almost the same price as an away win?

Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov Milan to win - Their biggest problems this season seem to be at home in the league. Other than that they have had some very impressive results away from home in the league and have already beaten Shakhtar this season. In order to finish as high as possible in the group they will need to win the game and so the motivation is most definitely there. The Champions League finalists of last season away to a Ukranian team who while strong at home won't in my mind shock a Milan team boasting a wealth of star names. So as Milan is available at a price of over evens then I would definitely look at taking that or the (AH 0) which is available at odds of 1.66

Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov Liverpool / Liverpool (HT/FT) at 1.78 (currently) at betfair seems value to me. I saw Liverpool last match vs Besiktas they really dominated the match. Pool conceded 2nd goal as they went all out. For the past 2 years, pool has good home record, Anfield has become a fortress once again for Champions League matches and Premiership matches.

I was in Ukraine last month for our match in Donetsk djlion and shakhtar come at you with pace from the off, though I always think the big italian teams get a result when they need it, in this case a draw would likely suit Milan - Im going to go with 0-0 @ 8/1 for this match, def unders IMO. our c.l record at home simply cannot be ignored, regardless the team, which has changed over the last 5 years, the team get an extra 10% from the occasion - Benfica will play with 1 upfront to start with and cant see much in the way of entertainment in the 1st half though draw/celtic @ 4/1 is my pick. COTH !!!! .

Re: Champions League Tuesday 06 Nov

what do you think will happened then?
Well, it might sound crazy, but I have the same feeling I had about Bayern. I've lost everything on their home draw and the stakes were the same- 1.2 for home win. Besides four matches for 2.2 does not seem reasonable to me. What I am offering is: Celtic- home win+DNB and Porto-under. 2.36 at my local bookie. Sounds good and is almost 100% sure. Celtic need all the points and DNB is a good insurance in case something happens. And I just can't see Porto and Marseille scoring more than two goals. Both teams rely on defence. Especially the french one... P.S. You can add Liverpool to that combo. 3.1 mmm, sweet:ok!

Actually I think Besiktas saved their effort on saturday for the game with Liverpool which is much much more important and much much more money are at stake. I will lay Liverpool at -1.5. Just waiting for the odds to drop even more.
