Re: Gingertipsters Tips Things have been going better for me recently than my tips suggest. e.g. Backed Nice To Know and Samuri Gold (saw he was behaving himself in the paddock) yesturday. Lucarno in Voltigeur. Went in again for Kingsgate Native (with the drying ground wanted to get on Dandy Man late, that price had gone but saw Kingsgate Native was out to 18.5/1 so backed it to win another £100). So if there is still anyone interested in my views keep with it I am sure it will show a profit some time.

Re: Gingertipsters Tips

Profit /loss does not include unsettled bets: St Leger £40 @ 9/1 (Tote) Honolulu 1000 Guinees £25 @ 16/1 Sense Of Joy and let's have another £8 @ 25/1 (Ladbrokes) Sense Of Joy
I put this last bet up at 3:25 Monday 27th Aug, 11:35 in Ante-Post bets thread (had the bet myself this morning at around 11:00 a.m.). But I see the price had gone by 5:00pm. So if this bet was not available at 3:25 will delete it. Anyone else try to back it today? Eh? How come when I log out then return to this quoted post it shows my last edit to be 2:25 yet here it says 3:25?

Re: Gingertipsters Tips With the biggest field at Salisbury today being 14 it seems likely there will be a false rail up the far side. When this rail is in place I believe there is little or no draw bias on a sound surface (good or firmer). 6:10 Salisbury On good-firm going McCartney is worth taking on at around evens. He won impressively last time in the style of one likely to go on. But that was like his debut on good-soft and he is also by a sire who usually stamps his stock with a liking for some give in the ground. I still make him favourite on good-firm but would want better than 6/4 to back it. Scintilo run well enough last time but I do not see why he should be a shorter price than Donagal who was ahead of the Hannon horse in the Champagne at Goodwood. Andrew Balding was not in as good form then as he is now and Donegal may be able to improve. Art Master won a maiden well and is bred to improve at the trip (needs to). Strategic Mover will no doubt improve for his first run but surly has too much to find. Quick Release does not look good enough. Yahrab unlike most of his main rivals is proven on a firm surface. He won in good style at Newbury last time and related to Arc winners so should get the mile well. Because Clive Brittain is known for tilting at windmills his runners with a chance can often be backed at bigger prices than they should be. £50 @ 7.4/1 Yahrab £8 @ 8.2/1 Donegal £6 @ 11/1 Art Master

Re: Gingertipsters Tips 5:10 Salisbury With Ghetto a non-runner this does not look that competative. Siberian Tiger looks too short considering the trainer does not look in that good a form. He only scrambled home last time in a maiden Auction event. Not sure to stay, although by Xaar (miler) comes from a speedy female line. Golden Penny also by Xaar is out of a mile family. Got no sort of run last time. Stables 2 year olds tend not to reach their peak until late season, so improvement likely. Ability to cope with the ground unknown. Mizooka also yet to run on a firm surface, his sire Tobougg was 3rd in the Derby on firm going. Ralph Beckett is in excellent form. Mizooka wasn’t stopping when showed vastly improved form here last time at 7 furlongs and has breeding to do better over this trip. Kylie Elieson has a chance on form, had excuses last time but looks exposed. King Bathwick ran poorly last time and possibly lacks a turn of foot. Space Pirate showed his first bit of form last time ( 66/1possibly flattered). If he can improve on that run is not without a chance. However, looks a non stayer on breeding, neither sire or dam stayed a mile. Abfabfong was fairly well fancied on debut judged by his SP (5/1 from 15/2) but has done little on the track. 7:10 Salisbury Again with the 2nd fav Seeking The Buck coming out this does not look so competaive. Fourteenth was progressive before a long way below form at Goodwood last time. Interesting his trainer brings him out fairly soon afterwards. Fretwork seems one paced, likely to find one or two too good again. Maid To Believe can get warm and an evening kick off might help her. If the form of her slowly run Windsor win can be believed (possibly flattered) has a good chance here. Duty Free has been running really well at 14f lately but on breeding should do better back to 12f. (by miler Rock Of Gibralter). May be able to show further improvement today. Starry Messenger is not handicapped out of things but looks one paced so will need a strong pace here. By and out of staying influences. Love Brothers looks exposeed unless professional jockey can make a difference (can take a pull). Down The Brick might still be able to improve, no luck in running last time and won 2 prior to that all be it not the standard of todays race. Lord Oroko comes from unfashionable connections and not sure to act on the ground. However, ran O.K first time up after an absence last time (10f on soft) and is bred to do much better at 12 furlongs. Half brother to staying hurdler Blazing Bailey.

Re: Gingertipsters Tips 3:45 Goodwood £60 @ 9/2 Lovelace £13 @ 5.6/1 Racer Forever On form Dunelight does look poor value at current prices (5/2). Though he concievably could get a soft lead. Beckermett is the other horse that likes to lead but is drawn wide and may need to be covered up to get the trip. Bygone Days, Assertive, Presto Shinko and Tawaasol are also doubtful stayers but a slow pace would bring them in to play. Bygone Days possibly the one most likely to get the trip, ran poorly in France last time. Mac Love would be interesting at around 20/1 if getting a truly run race. Always held up. Racer Forever seemed to turn it in at York last time but if his mind is o.k. looks backable at around 11/2. An each way or just a saver bet may be best on him. Lovelace looks the one to be on, unlikely to get the Racing Post Forecast price, 9/2 looks very fair. Improving and acts on any going, provided Jamie does not get too far behind should go close. Mr. Spencer must be a negative as he has a poor record at Goodwood, particularly in slowly run races.

Re: Gingertipsters Tips 4:55 Goodwood £60 @ 9/2 Titan Triumph £17 @ 12/1 Murrin This race depends on the pace. Glencalvie, Don't Panic, Music Note, Minnis Bay and Empire Dancer all arguably run best out in front. Therefore an overly strong pace favouring the hold up horses seems likely. Unless the connections read the Racing Post and change tactics (always possible). At least two of them look as though they have to lead. Titan Triumph won well here over 7f when held up in a truly run race and provided he stays a mile (bred to but can take a pull if pace is not strong) should go well again. Another course winner Murrin is also suited by a truly run mile (did not get it last time) and could well improve (needs to). Spriggan's best form is at 7f and Salient and Lazy Darren ran poorly last time. Handsomelle looks a danger, ran well in a listed race at Sandown and looks progressive. From an under rated trainer ridden by a 3lb claimer, Handsomelle could drift in the betting. If so a saver bet could be in order. Minnis Way obviously has his chance but the number of pace horses puts me off.

Re: Gingertipsters Tips 2:00 Goodwood £60 @ 7/2 Goodwood Starlight £20 @ 16/1 Maybe I Will £12 @ 7.8/1 Classical World Not much time, keep it brief. Saw GStarlight in paddock at Goodwood, anything but impressed, small. However, won really well, bred to do better at 1m. Trainers 2 yo usually come on for run. Ghetto has been NR on similar ground to todays recently though acted on it well enough first time before improving last time on soft. Stable companion had no room last time, progressive prior and is over priced. Classical World ran poorly last time but that was on soft, looked capable of better before (on good-firm). Townkab's form looks suspect (slowly run).

Re: Gingertipsters Tips Well done ginge :nanaGreat minds think alike and all that. :ok I was impressed that Spencer had already ridden it to victory from the front, way out of his comfort zone there but more impressed with the 5-1 SP, did it drift before the off??? A very close race judging by winning distances but was good enough to hold off Dunelight.

Re: Gingertipsters Tips Unlucky in one way not to win outright when Goodwood Starlight hung accross to the stand rail. Then again lucky to get anything back when showing temperament. Surprised Lovelace drifted so much on course, SP 5/1, no aparrent reason . Tartan Triumph was given plenty to do by Hughes, may have thought they would come back to him.

Re: Gingertipsters Tips Analysis 3:10 Salisbury There are some nicely bred newcomers in this race, particularly Snow Indian. M. Stoute does not have a great record with two year old debutants and no group entry puts me off. Clive Cox and Ralph Beckett do do well first time but Secret Gem is not that well bred and Mount Lavinia not well fancied (look for market move). Barry Hills is another whos debutants usually need a run (Shamayel) as does Brian Meehan. Joffe’s Run therefore ran a very encouraging race at Ascot, seemingly given time since, looks worth a bet (now just under 13/2). 3:40 Salisbury Open contest. If the reason for Our Faye running below form last time was the trip of 1m (improved form this season at 7f), should be difficult to beat. There are though several who could improve, namely Medley, Miss Lucifer, Steam Cuisene and Perfect Star. Gaelic Princess is well handicapped on her best form and I have heard from a pal of mine she is fancied today. Steam Cuisene has not had the best of luck / rides lately and at around 13/2 looks over priced. Hopefully either Medley or Perfect Star will set a good pace for the selection. Perfect Star needs a test at the trip anyway (winner at a mile here). Medley scrambled home last time but that was at Newmarket and showing improved form. Miss Lucifer is capable of improvement if she stops pulling hard early, a fast pace should suit her. 4:10 Salisbury Fashion Rocks form last time in the Lowther makes her form far better than the rest and should start odds on (not will but should). The Racing Post points out the dangers Dubai Power ran an encouraging race for a stable whos 2 y olds always need a run, and Vive les Rouges showed marked improvement last time. Both are some way short of Fashion Rocks but if you do not like short prices are each-way material. Joffe's Run 1st Fashion Rocks 1st
