Re: WSOP Main Event Quads over Quads When you check with pocket threes and the flop is 7-3-3, you're trying to set up the kill. So it was for Ramesh Bavireddy. His opponent had pocket sevens! Fireworks were about to happen and on the river, the case 7 fell for quad sevens over quad threes. Christian Grundtvig his the case 7 for the miracle win. Bavireddy stood up and said, "That's unbelievable," in total shock, just like a bolt of lightning hit him as it happened in the film "The Cincinnati Kid." Grundtvig was up to 34,000 after the hand... but it wasn't easy.

Since he crashed it in the parking lot yesterday afternoon, Hellmuth arrived in a limo wearing a racing uniform and carrying a helmet. Eleven women (each representing one of the eleven bracelets he's won) greeted him and escorted the Poker Brat from the parking lot down the long corridor in the convention center leading up to the Amazon Ballroom. It was a frenzy of media and fans who chased him down the hallway like he was the reincarnation of The Beatles. Hellmuth posed for photos and signed autographs as ESPN's film crew captured his every move. He finally entered the Amazon Ballroom, two hours late, and with his eleven escorts trailing behind him. He eventually took his empty seat. His tablemates joked that he should wear the racing helmet so he didn't have to hide his face with his hands. Phil Hellmuth has finally arrived to play in the WSOP main event. He begins his quest for bracelet #12 and his second overall World Championship. Although Hellmuth was not seriously injured, he woke up this morning sore and stiff. He admitted, "I've won tournaments before when I was hurt. I've won bracelets when I've been in more pain."

First place will win $8,250,000. 2,415 fewer players entered the Main Event in 2007 than in 2006, but this year's number is 739 higher than when Joe Hachem won it all in 2005. Phil Hellmuth Eliminated Phil Hellmuth was all in for 400 in the big blind. He woke up to A-Q and was in a race situation with an opponent who held . The flop was . Re: WSOP Main Event Some Creativity From early position, Jimmy Dahlquist limped into the pot . . . which is often an ominous sign. Limping from early position? Hmm. The limping came to an end when a player in late position raised to 2,000 and the big blind popped it up to 7K. That's when Dahlquist came over the top of them all with a 12K re-raise. In nature, this kind of behavior normally signifies "I HAVE ACES." The late position player folded his tent but the big blind chose to call. The flop came 8-7-8, the big blind moved all-in for his last 20K, and Dahlquist called. The big blind turned over pocket Queens, and Dahlquist turned over Ace...Eight. That most fortuitous flop gave Dahlquist trips and the pot, which put him up to 88,000 in chips. Re: WSOP Main Event David Benyamine Has Been Eliminated After raising to 600 and getting one caller, Benyamine and his opponent saw a 8-Q-7 flop. Benyamine called his opponent's 3,000 flop bet, and after both players checked a King on the turn, Benyamine moved in when another 7 fell on the river. But Benyamine's A-Q ran into his opponent's 7-8, and that full house brought an end to Benyamine's main event Chip Reese Eliminated The action was folded to Chip Reese on the button who raised to 2,000. Young Australian Julian Powell made the call from the small blind and the big blind folded. The flop came down and Powell checked. Reese made a bet of 4,000, and Powell raised to 17,000. Reese went into the tank for a long time, eventually moving in for just over 30,000. Powell made the call. Reese turned over for a flush draw, while Powell had top pair with . Montel Williams Chip Mystery Solved Tournament Directors Jack Effel and Jimmy Sommerfeld went to the surveillance tapes regarding Montel Williams' missing 5,000 in chips and discovered that the chips were mis-counted before they went into his bag at the end of Day 1. Williams indeed had the correct amount in his bag (15,900) though 20,900 was written on the front and included in the official end of Day 1 chip counts. Williams was satisfied with the ruling and thanked them for their efforts.

The flop comes , the small blind checks, the big blind bets 12,000, Joe Hachem moves all in, the small blind folds, and the big blind calls with for two pair, aces and tens, with a queen kicker.
