PT basics

I've just downloaded the Beta version which includes Boss Media, and I have not registered it yet. Since it's a limited edition, I wanna use it well in the trial period and if I'm not happy with it I won't register since I can't play anywhere else. Can somebody tell me the basic and primary functions and how can they be done? If I like it I'll register it and figure out the rest by myself. Cheers..
