Should indeed mate. Think it's sold out. Should be a great atmosphere. Let's hope the weather holds off. I'll miss it as I'm off to Hampshire vs Sussex on Wednesday night.

Derbyshire v Durham (18:45 BST)2.161.82102%
Note: Notts vs Leicester and Yorkshire vs Lancashire have been abandoned already. 4 for me. 2 in the TV game which is the Gloucester vs Worcester game and 2 away from the cameras. 10pts Worcestershire to beat Gloucestershire 11/10 Ladbrokes Both these sides had their 1st match rained off so both will be looking for a win here to get their campaigns going. Gloucestershire will be without Craig Spearman and Jon Lewis so Alex Gidman will captain the side. Ben Edmondson has been brought in to bolster the seam attack while Hamish marshall will look to fill the absence of Craig Spearman. Carl Greenidge takes wickets with the new ball but can also go round the park. Kadeer Ali, Chris Taylor and Gidman will provide good support to Hamish Marshall with the bat while Ian Fisher and Vikram Banerjee provide the spin option. Worcestershire will be without Phil Jaques who is in Australia for family reasons. Graeme Hick will move up to open alongside Vikram Solanki. Moeen Ali has shown he's got a bit of talent about him while Ben Smith will be solid in the middle order. Kabir Ali is a good talent with the ball and Ray Price and Gareth Batty, the spin twins will look to restrict Gloucester's batsmen. Gloucester will be missing probably their 4 key players from the side which made the quarter finals in this last season and they'll be big losses. Warocestershire have improved by the game in 1 day cricket this season and I think they'll win this one. 5pts ew A.Gidman Top Gloucestershire Batsman 5/1 Boylesports (1/4 1,2,3) Alex Gidman is a quality cricketer who isn't far off getting a place in the England 1 day side. He can bowl a bit but his strength is his batting. He's scored runs throughout the Friends Provident campaign and has been very productive with the bat in the Championship too. Gidman will bat at number 4 or 5 in the lineup which will give him every chance of top scoring in this weakish looking batting lineup. Hamish Marshall is a good batsman but Gidman is more aggressive and may be more suited to Twenty20. I can't see the Gloucestershire captain being out of the top 3 making him an ew bet to nothing but he's got every chance of top scoring with it. 10pts Hampshire to beat Middlesex 11/10 Betfred Both these sides have 1pt from 2 matches having both lost to Surrey but picked up a point from their other match. However when the two met at The Rose Bowl in the 50 over game Hampshire were comfortable winners. I fancy them to win again here although the loss of Dimitri Mascarenhas, now with England could be key. Hampshire have the personnel to cope with that though with Sean Ervine likely to play a bigger role. Hampshire have a very good bowling attack but need their batsmen to put some runs on the board. Their batting was awful yesterday but in a 10 over match that can be excused. With a full 20 overs here I'd expect better from the Hawks' batting. Middlesex, without Owais Shah who is also with England do have England rejects Andrew Strauss and Ed Joyce available. However they are a bit light with the ball as Chris Silverwood and Alan Richardson are out. That gives Chad Keegan further chance to impress. Jamie Dalrymple looked in good nick at The Oval and will be key with the bat but whether this Southgate pitch, not Middlesex's normal home ground let's not forget, will turn is debatable. Hampshire's bowling is very strong they just need their batsmen to come to the party. If they do that 11/10 is massive. It looks an even enough match to suggest the 11/10 must be taken as value. 10pts Durham to beat Derbyshire 8/11 Stan James Both these sides lost their 1st match so both will be keen to get a win here. Durham lost to Lancashire while Derbyshire lost to Notts. Since then though Derbyshire have beaten the WIndies quite convincingly in a Twenty20 match. Durham will be confident too having made the final of the Friends Provident trophy already this season. Derbyshire, barring Ian Harvey's absence are at full strength. They've strengthened their side too by bringing in Michael Dighton, an opening batsman from Australia who is playing as an EU player. Simon Katich will be looking to dominate with the bat and will hope to be supported by Travis Birt and Dan Birch. Graham Wagg and Tom Lungley will look to take wickets with the new ball while Ant Botha usually proves successful with his off spin. Durham have a good looking all round side. They will be without Paul Collingwood and Liam Plunkett here but they still look strong. Ex Derby batsman Michael Di Venuto returns to Derby and will know every inch of this ground and his opening partner Phil Mustard has been in good 1 day form all season. Scott Styris and Dale Benkenstein are 2 solid all rounders while with the ball Graham Onions and Neil Killeen will be hard to get away while Ottis Gibson is still taking wickets. Derby will be confident after yesterday but Durham looks strong and I think they'll justify being favourites by winning this.

Re: Cricket: Twenty20 Cup 2007 Quick update. Derby vs Durham has been abandoned so stake back there. Middlesex vs Hampshie is due to be a 12 over game starting at 6.40 and Gloucestershire vs Worcestershire is looking like a 10 over game beginning at 7.

Re: Cricket: Twenty20 Cup 2007

You've nailed the top bat in Gidman:cow Well done Kev. Profit secured, despite the results going against you.
Cheers mate. A good day which should have been so much more. How the hell do Hampshire fail to get 74 from 72 balls :( . Still despite that and the farce in Bristol, Gidman top scoring means +11.25 for the day and now +25.43 for the tournament.

4 for me. 3 in the TV match and 1 away from TV. 10pts Warwickshire to beat Northants 8/11 Stan James The top 2 meet at Edgbaston as Warwickshire play Northants. Warwickshire have won both their matches so far in Twenty20 while Northants battered Somerset and had a game washed out. Warwickshire have won the last 3 meetings between the sides in this competition and also won the Friends Provident match between the two earlier this season. Warwickshire will be without Jon Trott from their side now as he is with England. Skipper Darren Maddy comes into the tournament he can almost call his own such has been his success in it. Tim Ambrose and Jim Troughton provide solid batting in the middle order and Tim Groenewald and Heath Streal can give it a slap down the order. Warwickshire can promote Neil Carter to open and he is a quick scorer too. With the ball, Carter is going at les than 7 an over so far in the competition and Heath Streak and Tim Groenewald are getting wickets. Northants are likely to field the same side which bashed Somerset up. They may decide to bring Richard Dawson in for Graeme White after White went round the park for 43 off 2 overs at Taunton. With the bat Usman Afzaal is in good touch having walloped 32 runs off an Andy Caddick over on Sunday. Rob White is likely to open with him and he gets on with it. David Sales and Lance Klusener can also score quickly so with the bat Northants look fine. With the ball it's a different story though. They conceded 10 an over on Sunday and you just can't do that. Van der Wath looks to be their only real dangerous bowler. Jason Brown has a decent record but the rest look like cannon fodder. With Maddy's experience and record in this format Warwickshire are in good stead even without Jon Trott. They seem to know how to beat Northants and I expect them to gain a victory here. 5pts ew T.Ambrose Top Warwickshire Batsman 5/1 Boylesports (1/4 1,2,3) Tim Ambrose is having a terrific season. He averaged 99.50 with the bat in the group stages of the Friends Provident trophy and currently averages 79.16 in the Champsionship. So far in Twenty20 he's made 47 off 35 balls and 39 off 19 balls so we can see he's in good touch. With Warwickshire's 2 best batsmen - Trott and Bell with England, Ambrose looks overpriced at 5/1. He can play all types of innings but Northants bowlers could be to his liking. He hit a century in the FP Trophy game against Northants and looks like scoring more runs tonight. 5pts ew D.Sales Top Northants Batsman 9/2 Boylesports (1/4 1,2,3) David Sales is a solid batsman who has a Twenty20 average of 33.85 which is very good indeed. He's just started to come into a bit of form too having made a 90 odd in the Championship last week and 64 in the FP trophy against Worcester before that. He'll come in at number 3 here which gives him a good chance of top scoring. He can score at a quick rate as his Twenty20 strike rate of of 138.72 suggests. He's made runs against this Warwickshire attack before and looks a good bet to top score here. And away from TV..... 10pts Kent to beat Sussex 3/4 Expekt Kent come into this match having won a game and ties one while Sussex have lost 1 and had the other rained off. These 2 met in the Friends Provident Trophy 3 weeks ago and Kent won by 112 runs. That match was at Hove so with home conditions here they'll be extra confident. Kent have made a good start to Twenty20 and a lot of that is to do with the form of Ryan McLaren. The South African all rounder has 3 wickets from 5 overs in the competition so far as well as 46 runs to his name. Those 46 came off 19 balls against Hampshire. Martin van Jaarsveld, Joe Denly, Rob Key and Darren Stevens provide a solid batting line up for the Spitfires and Simon Cook, Afarat and McLaren give Kent a good bowling lineup. Sussex's fortunes depends a lot on Murray Goodwin who made a century in a losing cause on Friday. On paper they have the bowling attack to look dangerous but without Prior and Yardy, both with England, they look to lack the firepower with the bat. James Kirtley and Rana Naved usually keep things tight up top with Mushtaq coming in and squeezing the run rate further but the other 2 bowlers can go for plenty which is a problem. Adams and Goodwin aside though, there isn't much of a batting lineup for the Sharks. Kent had a decent enough FP Trophy campaign and have began Twenty20 well. It should be a packed St Lawrence Ground tonight with ticket holders from Saturday's farce against Essex allowed in tonight and all the factors lead to a Kent win.

Re: Cricket: Twenty20 Cup 2007 Warwicks only just scraped past Glamorgan last match whilst Northants have started impressively. They have the hitters in Sales and Klusner and although the bowling looks weak I think they can get an away win here against the odds. They have also won the toss and will have the benefit of chasing which I feel suits them. Northamptonshire @ 6/5 (general)

Re: Cricket: Twenty20 Cup 2007 Not the greatest night. Just the Warwickshire win and Sales placed. Dunno what Luke Wright was on at Canterbury but that's a hell of an innings :eek . Glad Sales stuck Warwickshire in because I wouldn't have wanted to have chased on that deck. Seen em twice in a week now, they'll be at finals day will the Bears. -12.18 for the night so +13.25 for the tournament now.

Re: Cricket: Twenty20 Cup 2007 Decent game earlier although from my point of view it was disapointing that neither Afzaal, Klusener or Sales got going to make it closer. Terrific all round performance from Maddy who was the deciding factor, surely he should be in the England T20 squad? Elsewhere, Sussex beating Kent is probably good news for Essex and Glamorgan get their first win over Somerset, Cosker taking 3-18 in restricting Somerset to 142.

5 for me here. 1 in the TV game and 4 others. TV game 1st. 5pts ew T.Bresnan Top Yorkshire Batsman 12/1 Boylesports (1/4 1,2,3) This is a big price for a guy who can bat and who will come in at number 3. He has a 1st class average of nearly 22 with 7 50's and a century to his name and has a Twenty 20 best of 42 and a Twenty20 average of 22.70. Coming in at 3 is a good thing for us backing the England man as later on in the innings Lancashire will employ Gary Keedy and Sanath Jayasuriya and scoring becomes much more difficult. Gough confirmed Bresnan will bat at 3 and with Lancashire's seamers having the potential to go round the park, especially without Jimmy Anderson, Bresnan can take full advantage and build up a lead over his teammates who may struggle to follow him. 10pts Sussex to beat Hampshire 11/10 Boylesports Both these sides have played 3 matches. Hampshire have drawn 1 and lost 2 while Sussex have won 1 and lost one and had a game rained off. Things would be very interesting if Shane Warne was playing here as the feud between he and Sussex captain Chris Adams intensifies every time they're on the same field. Hampshire have rested their senior players for this competition and one of the more senior players playing in this event is now away with England. Dimitri Mascarenhas led the side in the 1st 2 games but that task is now with Nic Pothas. Hampshire are ulikely to make to many changes from the side which lost to Middlesex but they would like their batsmen to come to the party. They've batted appallingly in the last 2 matches which is a shame because their bowling attack has been excellent. Sussex are making plenty of runs in this competition and have had a centurion in both matches so far. Murray Goodwin and Luke Wright have both made tons with Wright's coming off only 45 balls. Chris Adams is also providing solid contributions so the batting looks to be covered although it will be seriously tested here. Hampshire haven't played spin at all well in this tournament so far so the overs bowled by Mushtaq Ahmed and Ollie Rayner will be crucial. With Rana Naved and James Kirtley proving hard to get away Hampshire's batting could struggle yet again. I know Hampshire have home advantage and I'm a massive Hampshire fan but we simply can not be favourites for this match. Last 2 matches we've been pathetic with the bat and if that continues the Sharks win this easily. 10pts Kent to beat Middlesex Evs William Hill Both these sides have 3pts from 3 games and with the South Group looking like it does this is an important game for both teams. The winners of this match will top the group for a few hours until the Sussex/Hampshire match ends. Uxbridge hosts this game as Middlesex continue to take their games around their outgrounds. Middlesex were a touch lucky to beat Hampshire having made only 73 from 12 overs up front but they bowled well and that could be their strength. They'll be without Owais Shah who is with England so Ed Smith and Jamie Dalrymple will lead their batting lineup while Chad Keegan's having an excellent tournament with the ball in the absence of Chaminda Vaas, Chris Silverwood and Alan Richardson. However they do have bowlers who can be attacked which will give Kent hope. Kent can count themselves a bit unlucky not ot be top of this group. They'll have felt they put up a winning score last night against Sussex only for an innings of madness from Luke Wright to deny them. Rob Key's been in good touch with the bat and with Stevens, Walker, van Jaarsveld and Denly supporting him Kent should always score some runs. Normally their bowling attack will be solid. James Tredwell is bowling his off spin well and Ryan McLaren, Morne Morkel and Yasir Arafat are hard to get away. As I say Kent have been unlucky not to be top of this group and could easily have 3 wins from their 3 matches. There's little doubt in my mind they are the better side and I think they'll travel to the capital and pick up the win. 2 more match bets to follow..............

Re: Cricket: Twenty20 Cup 2007 10pts Nottinghamshire to beat Derbyshire 4/7 Stan James Nottinghamshire are top of the North group with 2 wins and a washout from 3 matches and are head and shoulders above Derby in this competition. Derby have a washout and a defeat from 2 matches with their defeat coming against Notts quite comfortably. Samit Patel has been a revelation for Notts so far and the thing that will please them is they've won 2 matches without their overseas players - David Hussey and Stephen Fleming really firing. If they start firing here then this one might not be competitive for very long. With the ball they have an excellently balanced and good quality attack and Notts will be hard for anyone to beat here let alone a poor Derby side. Derbyshire will be at full strength but that's nowhere near as strong as Notts even with the addition of Michael Dighton to their batting lineup. Simon Katich and Travis Birt should provide decent contributions with the bat but those around them aren't doing similar. With the ball Tom Lungley is bowling well but the likes of Kevin Dean can go right round the park and that's obviously not good. Notts are the best team I've seen in Twenty20 this year and I can't see them having too muh difficulty seeing off Derby here. 10pts Leicestershire to beat Durham 5/6 Boylesports Leicester have 3pts from 2 games following a victory over Yorkshire which was followed up by a Trent Bridge washout. Durham have a washout at Derby and a loss to Lancashire to show for themselves. Durham will be without Paul Collingwood and Liam Plunkett who are away with England but they've not really missed them so far this season. Michael Di Venuto is a class act as opener and all rounders Scott Styris and Dale Benkenstein are solid in the middle order. Neil Killeen, Graham Onions and Ottis Gibson provide a good bowling attack and Durham will be full of confidence with their side playing well. Leicestershire looked excellent against Yorkshire on the opening day. They have plans for this competiton and they execute them perfectly. Even without Stuart Broad here I'd still fancy them to win. Nick Walker is due to replace Stuart Broad and they are big shoes to fill but he's played a lot this season already so isn't coming in rusty. With the bat Jim Allenby, wearing Darren Maddy's number 5, looks to be a real talent and HD Ackerman is one of Twenty20's leading run scorers. Paul Nixon brings a bit of cannyness to the side and Leicester will also be confident. This looks a close sort of match given that it's at Durham but Leicester were so impressive on Friday that it may well pay to stick with them as their march to yet another finals day gathers pace.

Essex v Surrey (19:00 BST)2.201.9099%
Glamorgan v Northamptonshire (19:00 BST)2.361.72101%
2 for me tonight. 10pts Surrey to beat Essex 4/5 Expekt Surrey go to Chelmsford with a 100% record having won their opening 2 matches. Essex have won 1 and lost 1 but a win tonight will really stick them back in the mix in what is turning into a wide open group. Indeed if Essex do win tonight then 4 sides will have 4pts with Sussex out on top with 5. Essex will obviously be without Ronnie Irani who has now retired. There's also no Ravi Bopara or Alistair Cook. Bopara is injured still and Cook is with England. Since last year when they made finals day, Darren Gough has left and Andy Flower has retired. Adam Hollioake has been signed for the Twenty20 in a bit of a bizarre mood while Andy Bichel is now overseas player instead of Andre Nel. He and Danish Kaneria will be vital to Essex's chances. They look very much light with the bat. Pettini and Chopra will open with Flower in at 3 but then they're struggling. Bits and pieces players make up the rest of the innings and it's hit or miss whether they fire. Surrey are as strong as they come with the bat. Benning, Brown, Ramprakash, Clarke, Mahmood et al and they can all score runs and score them at a very quick rate. However with the ball they're not as strong. That said a lot of emphasis is on spin at Chelmsford and Surrey have that more than covered with Nayan Doshi and Chris Schofield. Matt Nicholson's bowling well now and Azhar Mahmood is dificult to get away. Surrey are a strong Twenty20 side and they've got by far and away the better side here. Essex look light with the bat and I think the Brown Caps will win this one. 10pts Northants to beat Glamorgan 8/11 Ladbrokes This Sophia Gardens clash is an important one as both sides sit level on 3pts, just behind Gloucestershire who have 5pts. Northants won the Twenty20 match between the two last year and won the only match between the two at Sophia Gardens too. Glamorgan will be confident after seeing off Somerset but given the way Somerset have been playing in this competition it's hard to know whether that's good form or not. They lost to Warwickshire in their other completed match though. Mark Wallace is key for the Dragons with the bat and he'll be backed up by Robert Croft and Ben Wright. With the ball, Croft and Cosker with their spin are important while Andrew Davies is hard to get away. Northants have an excellent batting lineup. Usman Afzaal slapped Andrew Caddick all around Taunton on Sunday showing he's in good touch and Lance Klusener and David Sales are very solid, quick scoring batsmen. In this competition Riki Wessels is good at 4 as he scores fast too and is like a whippet between the stumps and down the order Steven Crook and van der Wath can hit a long cricket ball. Northants have the spin covered too with Jason Brown and Graeme White while Crook and Klusener can be hard to get away. Northants have made the quarter finals in this for the last 2 years and look to be a solid settled Twenty20 team now. They have all the bases you need for Cardiff covered and I think they'll win here.

Re: Cricket: Twenty20 Cup 2007 Rained off in Cardiff and Essex beat Surrey albeit a tad luckily after Surrey took a wicket on a no ball and then dropped Middlebrook in the 18th over. Still it's all about taking your chances. So -10 on the day and back to +19.95 for the tournament. Full set of fixtures on Friday so hopefully we can get back on the winning run there.

Re: Cricket: Twenty20 Cup 2007 Essex go 2nd in the South group with that win! Hollioake came in late on and hit a few vital runs against his old side, but the win was fashioned by Kaneria's economical bowling which restricted Surrey to 174 which given that they only lost a few wickets is quite low if still a decent total. Glamorgan pick up another point, but at this stage they're not out of it but will need to pull some performances out of the bag and have lost 2 home games to rain which would have been their best chance of doing so.

Going with 5 tonight. 10pts Notts to beat Yorkshire 4/7 Blue Square Notts are running away with the North group and it's easy to see why. They've got a good bowling attack and their batting has been excellent. They've won 3 matches and had a washout against Leicester and a win here will pretty much see them guaranteed a home quarter final. Yorkshire have been woeful in this as they have in all one day cricket really. Notts will be without tall seamer Charlie Shreck whose shin came off worse with a Michael Dighton drive on Wednesday. Simon Francis is likely to replace him in what is a fairly settled bowling attack. There's also no Will Jefferson who has a hamstring problem. Mark Wagh is his replacement. Notts have won 3 matches and neither Stephen Fleming or David Hussey have really done anything. With those to get better Notts are in a good position. Yorkshire are without Younis Khan who is with the Pakistan squad in Scotland but are at full strength apart from that. Darren Gough launched a verbal assault on his players after the Lancashire defeat and will be expecting a backlash. That said though, their batting isn't good enough. The decision to bat Bresnan at 3 is wrong and Brophy is hit and miss at the top. Gillespie and Gough are reliable with the ball but the others can get carted. Notts are the best side I've seen this season and even with a few injuries they should run out comfortable winners here. 4 more to follow.

Re: Cricket: Twenty20 Cup 2007 10pts Sussex to beat Surrey 11/10 William Hill This is a big match in the South group as the group is so tightly bunched. 5 sides are within 1pt with Sussex out on top. A win here will give Sussex a good chance of making the latter stages especially with Kent and Essex, 2 of the sides bunched behind them playing each other. A win for Surrey takes them top. I saw Sussex at The Rose Bowl on Wednesday and was impressed with what I saw. In Kirtley and Rana Naved they have 2 quicks opening up who are hard to score off and Mushtaq Ahmed is a wily old fox who can cut any scoring rate. They looked good in the field too which is always a must in this form of the game. With the bat Chris Adams and Luke Wright were superb. Not afraid to go over the top. Wright's due a failure but then there's Goodwin and Hopkinson to back him up. Surrey will have had to have travelled down quite late last night which may take it's toll and being beaen by Essex so convincingly will have dented confidence. This is a ground where they've had lots of success but Sussex are improving by the game in Twenty20. Surrey still rely a lot on their top 3 for me and if 2 go early as Benning and Brown can with the way they play then they are in trouble. The spin twins do the business with the ball but the seamers can be very hit and miss. Sussex aren't a bad side at all, they were unlucky to miss out on the quarter finals last year and were impressive at the Rose Bowl. Hopefully home advantage will help them after they've picked up 2 away wins and I'll take the Sharks here. 10pts Leicestershire to beat Derbyshire 4/6 Blue Square Leicestershire know that they need to win this to stay in touch with Notts and Lancs in this group. Due to all the rain around they wouldn't be certain of a best 3rd placed spot so this is must win for the defending champions. Derby are pretty much playing for pride now. Derbyshire strengthened their squad with the signing of Michael Dighton but there's still just too much inexperience there. Travis Birt and Simon Katich are crucial to their chances with the bat and with the ball it's a bit of a lottery if they take wickets or not. Ant Botha is bowling well in this competition but they've never really been in any of their matches. Leicester were disappointing against Durham on Wednesday but this pitch will suit their methods far better than the Riverside. The spinners should make a difference here and the experience they have in their batting along with the flair of Harrison and Allenby should ensure they make plenty of runs. Leicester have the wool over Derby in this competition and I fully expect it to continue here. Last 2 to come.

Re: Cricket: Twenty20 Cup 2007 10pts Northants to beat Worcestershire 5/6 Blue Square Northants are going well in the Twenty20 and know that a win here will put them right in the mix for qualification with the top 2 meeting in Bristol. Worcestershire have been done no favours at all by the weather and look out of it now. This match is being played in Kidderminster due to the flooding at New Road. Worcestershire will be without Phil Jaques who is expected back tomorrow and Michael Mason who is still 2 weeks away from full fitness. Graeme Hick will open with Solanki with Moeen Ali and Ben Smith 3 and 4. After that though the batting goes into bits and pieces players which I don't think is the way to go in this competition. With the ball, in normal conditions Batty and Price will restrict sides but Bollinger and Ali have been going round the park. The Royals need to sort that out. Northants have a good Twenty20 side. Explosive batting at the top of the order, depth down the order to their batting and a good bowling attack whether it be a seamers deck or a spinners one. They're good in the field too and well led by David Sales and they should be too good for Worcester here I feel. 10pts Warwickshire to beat Gloucestershire 5/6 Sporting Odds The top 2 do battle in Bristol here with Warwickshire knowing that a win will all but seal their spot in the quarter finals. A loss though coupled with a Northants win really tightens up this group. Gloucestershire have Craig Spearman back which is a huge boost but may be without Hamish Marshall again after he slapped a drive straight into his knee against Worcester. Alex Gidman and Chris Taylor offer solidity to the middle order. However their bowling attack can really go round the park as Worcester proved the other night. Warwickshire are solid all round. In Maddy they have the best Twenty20 batsman in the country and he's more than well backed up by the likes of Troughton and Ambrose. So much so that the absence of Trott and Bell are not that significant. With the ball Heath Streak is solid and Harris and Loudon out the squeeze on teams. Warwickshire look like a finals day team in the making to me and I think they'll leave Bristol with 2pts here.

Re: Cricket: Twenty20 Cup 2007 From today's 5 bets only a +0.3pt profit but I guess profit is profit! However elsewhere everything went my way. I saw Notts beat Yorkshire in a tight match while Kent battered Essex to go top of the South group for about 10 mins! Graeme Hick smacked Northants all around Kidderminster to end up with 110 and he's now a real favourite for the Top Worcester Bat. +0.3 for the day and +20.25 for the tournament.

3 for me today although ultimately rain might have the final say. 10pts Leicestershire to beat Nottinghamshire 6/5 Bet365 This is a massive game for the defending champions as they look to progress to the quarter final stages. A loss here leaves them 2pts adrift of Lancashire who are 2nd and Lancashire would have a game in hand. If Notts were to win this then Stephen Fleming's men can plan for the quarter finals as the 1st side through. Leicestershire were excellent in beating Derbyshire last night. Their 2 main men, HD Ackerman and Paul Nixon really shone when they needed it most. Before that though Garnett Kruger produced a good spell and the Foxes will hope he serves up another today as he finally appears to be finding his feet in the county game. Jeremy Snape and Claude Henderson will come into their own on this Grace Rd deck and if Nixon and Ackerman can be supported with the bat Leicester won't be too far away. Nottinghamshire come here unbeaten but with a few injuries. Charlie Shreck and Will Jefferson are out with injury while Ryan Sidebottom is with England. The Outlaws won a real tense tight match against Yorkshire last night where at one stage they looked out of it but Rob Ferley and Mark Ealham were superb in the latter stages with the ball and Notts came out alive. They weren't so good with the bat and will need to bat better this afternoon though but Notts fans will be waiting for Hussey and Fleming to fire. If they do that today Leicester will be severely tested. Nottinghamshire have never won a Twenty20 match at Grace Rd. They've played 3 and lost the lot. There will be a lot of needle in this one as the Outlaws will be desperate to gain revenge for last years final but Leicester are superb under pressure in this and in a game they must win I duly think will. 5pts ew P.Nixon Top Leicestershire Bat 6/1 Boylesports (1/4 1,2,3) Paul Nixon was superb with the bat last night in Leicester's win over Derbyshire. He made a match winning 65 off 41 balls last night which was enough to top score. In Leicester's other 2 Twenty20 matches he has placed on both occasions and so is in good nick with the bat. Nicko will bat at number 4 in this Foxes lineup and could well be in when the Notts spinners - Swann and Ferley will be bowling. Should that be the case the old reverse sweep will come out to annoy the Notts players. However he can score all over the wicket, he really comes alive in this competition and 6/1 is a complete joke of a price for a man of his ability. As such, we won't complain, instead we'll happily take the 6/1 as a solid each way bet. 10pts Yorkshire to beat Durham 11/10 Skybet In terms of qualification this looks to be a nothing game for both sides as both look to be too far behind Lancashire in 2nd place to qualify. There is a best 3rd place spot up for grabs but with Leicester hosting Derby and Durham next week that looks far away too. Yorkshire were a tad unlucky against Notts last night. They bowled very well 1st up with the ball and restricted Notts to less than 150 which was a good effort with David Wainwright and Jacques Rudolph the main men. With the bat they were in a winning position thanks to Anthony McGrath's 55 but once he was out Notts really turned the screw. There hasn't been a lot wrong with their bowling in this though and as a captain Gough has got better by the game. They need to fire with the bat though but there were signs that they might do that soon last night. Hopefully the home environment will help. Durham were soundly beaten last night by Lancashire which all but ended their qualification hopes. To makes matters worse they lost Michael Di Venuto for a while as he fractured a finger. That means a lot of emphasis will be on Phil Mustard and Scott Styris with the bat with Paul Collingwood absent with England. With the ball they look ok but this attack is weaker in Twenty20 than any other competition as it's basically seam orientated and gets hit away easier. Yorkshire have had a poor tournament so far but the members at the Headingley Carnegie won't let their team lie down and feel sorry for themselves. They'll demand a win and I think their team will give it to them.
