Re: F1 Monaco 26/5 & 27/5 Onto Monaco then and this promises to be an interesting race. Its like riding a bicycle around your living room and expect the unexpected. Anything can happen here at any time so its always hard race to predict. One slight error and you are put of the race which is why experience is needed. Of the main 4, Hamilton is the one who has least experienced around this track in an F1 car and already he’s crashed in practice a few times this week. Maybe for the 1st time some cracks are starting to appear in this mans armour and I think he could be in for a tough weekend. I’m happy to take him on in a few bets if needed. Massa as well I’m not confident about, this has never been a good circuit for him and I just cant see him winning here. His driving style is not suited to these streets and he perhaps doesn’t always have the patience. And the initial signs are that he isn’t on the pace much, although he did have some problems with the care. It seems as if the 2 people who didn’t have problems were Raikkonen and Alonso and I’m convinced one of these 2 will win this grand prix. Both need to prove that they are better than their respective team-mates and this Monaco circuit really is a good way to try and impress. Both have won at the circuit before so have the confidence to know they can claim victory in the principality. I still think the Ferrari is slightly faster when hooked up properly so I give the Finn the edge over the reigning word champion. IMO, Kimi is too overpriced in qualifying @ 4.75 and has to be worth a couple of units there. For the race, his price of 4.50 is definitely tempting as well so is worth 3/10 stakes. Aside from the big 2 teams I am again going to side with experience 3 drivers who constantly do well at this circuit are Coulthard, Trulli and R Schumacher. They have the experience to get around this track and know how to pick points up. The other aspect is that they are in cars that are likely to go well so I’m confident in them holding up until the end. Coulthard and Trulli especially should also go well in qualifying and should be higher up the grid, always vital in Monaco. All 3 drivers should make a push on the top 8 and I even think its possible they could get a podium. I have a feeling that someone new will make it into the top 3 this week and that maybe 1 or 2 of the big names will crash out. Hamilton especially I just don’t fancy for the podium and I’m gonna lay him @ 1.64. The pressure is on him more now and he doesn’t seem to be on his A game at the moment on the south coast. Alonso to beat him in the race @ 1.60 looks great odds to me, I cant see the Spaniard losing out to this rookie again, especially here in Monaco. My other H2H bet is one again Coulthard to beat Webber. Again I really don’t know why the Aussie is favourite here, quite clearly he isn’t in form at the moment and although he’s a decent qualifier, in races he has been known to perform quite badly, and he will need to maintain his concentration for long periods here. Id take DC to beat him any day of the week here on the streets.
