Cricket: Bangladesh vs India Test Series

A 2 test series begins in Chittagong in the early hours of tomorrow morning. Both matches are live on Sky again. Will probably be on my own in this thread but we'll have a go.

Going with smaller stakes here as Chittagong is a bit of an unknown quantity and there's shitloads of cricket on now and I don't want too much tied up in this. 3 bets for interest really. 5pts 1st Test Draw 7/5 Paddy Power Bangladesh are playing their 1st test match for 13 months in this match. The last time they played a test series they hosted Australia and in an eventful series. Chittagong is the venue for this match. India have a squad of 15 for this match but there's only 1 opener in among them so India will go into this match with a lop sided batting lineup. As if that's not enough they plan on playing 5 bowlers so they will have a long tail too. Bangladesh will go with the steady Shahadat Hossein opening the bowling rather than the accurate Syed Rasel. One out of Saqibul Hasan and Mehrab Hossain jnr is set to make his debut. Heat and humidity will play a crucial part in this test match and that combination may well lead to a few storms. The pitch looks good and with Bangladesh being a much more competitive unit than 13 months ago with weather taking out a chunk of the game they can hang on for a draw here. 6pts Bangladesh +165.5runs 1st Inns Lead 5/6 Sporting Odds Bangladesh are no longer the pushovers they used to be and in players like Saqibul Hasan, Mohammad Ashraful and Shahriar Nafees they have players who can play big innings for long periods and create a good score. India may well only play 6 batsmen which gives them a very long tail which should lower any potential 1st innings total. Bangladesh have a balanced batting lineup which should be good enough to stay within 165 runs of India after the 1st innings. 2pts M.Ashraful Top Bangladesh Bat 9/2 Boylesports Mohammad Ashraful is a classy young batsman who has developed well and now thrives on playing the big boys. He's got a good defence, a sound technique and can play shots all around the wickets. Not many of this Bangladesh side will be used to test cricket having played so much 1 day cricket recently but Ashraful won't have that problem. Ashraful has 3 test centuries to his name, one of which, a 158, was against India. He's shown he can play the big innings and is well worth a touch for the top bat.
