Jet trails in the sky Leave one thought behind A hand bangs into sand a name And we all understand.......... Monday 16/02/2004 =============== NAVAN 04:30 AURA ABOUT HIM f/c. 11/2 Aura About Him relished the bottomless underfoot conditions when going down narrowly to The Moyne Machine at Fairyhouse last month over this distance and a reproduction of that effort off his revised 5lb higher mark would give him an outstanding chance. LTO Aura About Him, whose rider put up a crucial 1lb overweight, seized the initiative leaving the back straight, but was untidy at the fourth-last. To his credit, he kept on under pressure only to be narrowly denied.

Re: Irish Jet trails in the sky Leave one thought behind A hand bangs into sand a name And we all understand.......... Wednesday 18/02/2004 Down Royal 03:30 WALK OVER f/c. 8/1 LTO An upset here when WALK OVER, pulled up on his previous outing at Gowran, easily defeated odds-on Tiger Cry. The winner led with a circuit to race, and when asked to race had the chasing favourite off the bridle approaching the straight. He stepped at the last losing momentum in the process, but he was soon back on an even keel and he drew away again to win comfortably. The runner-up, a creditable second to 134-rated Arch Stanton over Christmas, travelled well racing into the fierce gale down the back straight and was content to track the front-runner. But, he was found wanting when asked to go after the leader. QUOTES 07 Jan 2004 Punchestown (16S,PM116) Times have changed and I'll be taking instructions from Frank (Berry, McManus's racing manager) about this fellow. The ground was bottomless at Gowran Park when Walk Over was pulled up there last month and he couldn't handle it all. He's a full brother to Whither Or Which who won a Cheltenham Bumper for Willie Mullins and I see him as a prospect for three mile chases - Francis Flood, trainer

Re: Irish Jet trails in the sky Leave one thought behind A hand bangs into sand a name And we all understand.......... Thursday 19/02/2004 Thurles 02:30 NIMVARA f/c. 11/2 Nimvara, who finished down the field in demanding conditions at Fairyhouse last time, is better judged on the form she showed when second to Rosses Folly in a handicap at Listowel in September and third to Statim in a novice event at Punchestown the following month. LTO 31 Jan 04 Fai 20Hy 4y+ HcpHdl(6K) 12/25 54L, Lotomore Lad prominent 4th 4 out, soon no extra and weakened. tailed off. 4 Oct 03 Pun 18GF 4y+ Hdl(7K) 3/10 1L, Statim There was not much strength in depth, but Nimvara confirmed the improvement she had shown on her first outing of the year in a handicap at Listowel, upholding form with Classy Dancer in spite of meeting that rival on less favourable terms. 20 Sept 03 Lis 20Sft 4y+ HcpHdl(8K) 2/15 3½L, Rosses Folly Nimvara ran a fine race considering that this was her first run since December and she could be one for the shortlist next time. todays going (YIELDING) down in distance (2M) decent claimer on board (7)

Re: Irish Jet trails in the sky Leave one thought behind A hand bangs into sand a name And we all understand.......... Saturday 21/02/2004 Fairyhouse 03:45 CASTLE WEIR f/c. 9/2 General Montcalm rates a significant threat now that he has put behind him a sequence of mishaps. He received a much-needed confidence-booster when second to Foxey Dove at Limerick in December and went on to open his racecourse account with a 3l victory from Castle Weir at Thurles, with Victorian Lady another 20l adrift in third. LTO 08/02/2004 Leo 24Y/Sft 5y+ HuntCh(8K) 3/14 4½L, Never Compromise Castle Weir managed a solid display despite the fact that his jumping left a bit to be desired. 01/02/2004 Thu 24Sft 5y+ HuntCh(4K) 2/14 3L, General Montcalm The winner, who wore down the front-running Castle Weir on the run-in to win going away, should improve again and do well at this level of competition. Successful in a similar type event at Navan two years ago, Castle Weir was a bit slow at a few fences but his effort was quite encouraging and there is every reason to believe he can improve for the run. Castle Weir now 9lb better off with General Montcalm for a 3L beating.
