GaF
From tonights parbet $10,000 ...... I was tournament leader at the time ..... Villain has been extremely active/aggressive, but this was the first time I saw him go all in...... Only time I can ever remember folding aces post flop....... It's a horrid flop for me, but thinking now - he could have had an overpair (but underpair to my AA), a draw ..... given his over aggression, maybe I should have called :unsure Then again he's still at my table ..... maybe I'll get a better situation ;-) Game #3502494053: Hold'em NL (50/100) - 2007/03/17 - 19:38:22 (CET) Table "10" Seat 2 is the button. Masterplan
Re: Good fold or bad fold? fold every day of the week for me. even IF you are ahead, his outdraws might put him far too uncomfortably close to have too many outs. i would have smooth played this to the river rather than betting out on the flop. far too many hands that could call my preflop raise (especially form an aggressive player) have just hit a fantastic flop or fantastic draw. i want to KNOW i'm winning before i call his all in. mrmuzeman
Re: Good fold or bad fold? Well yeah I mean hes very likely drawing here, its a tough one cos hes not gona be far off coinflipping with you. I can see a case for folding or calling. Id call but thats me with my cash game cap on, in a tournament the fold is more of an opton. Roughly 6/4 on your money and you are probably JUST about ahead. Only time I can ever remember folding aces post flop....... Btw is that for real? I guess youre more a tourny player but still thats strange
GaF
Re: Good fold or bad fold? Btw is that for real? I guess youre more a tourny player but still thats strange Yes, I find it VERY hard to lay down aces post flop!!!!!
Masterplan
Re: Good fold or bad fold? me2 but i've done it, more in tournies than cash games. only 2 days ago i had AA and faced 4 calls (out of 10) to my raise, flop came down 9QJ rainbow, one guy bet the pot, another went all in, i folded. the 2 turned over QJ and KT, KT held up to take it. i always remember phil gordons advice when going on any play, regardless of hands, dont go bust on top pair. mrmuzeman
Re: Good fold or bad fold? Probably something to work on that, well if youre getting well into cash games anyway mate. It presumably means you never fold when a flush looks very likely or someones really showing you they have trips etc. I misread the flop btw in this hand I thought it said 875 :$ 876 makes 2 pair combos and pocket 9s more dangerous, as well as made straights obv. Its extremely close I dont think its a mistake to call or fold oddswise really. As its a tourny I think a fold is good though cos survival is key, id call in cash. My mate whos a better player than I says he folds whatever it is, so I think you made a good decision. I think its neither here nor there really.
