Interestingly the possible FAV is LIBERATE who is only a 4Y-OLD so it could pay to go with either of the other top 2 in the betting . TIDAL BAY and WINS NOW have near identical trends as both ran LTO and were in the money at CHELTENHAM in GRADED company. Both are 6y-olds. Each has won at least one of their last 3 races. Both have raced 5 times this season. A couple of other details have persuaded me to go for TIDAL BAY. His trainer , Howard Johnston has had 3 winners and a few placings since the end of MARCH , while MADDEN [ wins now] has only had 4 runners with none placed and all well beaten. Also the ground looks like being good and while both have never won on anything worse than SOFT , TIDAL BAY ran well to finish 2nd in the BUMPER round here in a time only 5.4 secs above ave. jtw1
Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends Sorry to say DANNY , i 'm concentrating on NON-HANDICAPS mate :\ Leaving the tricky stuff to BOWLES + RUSS P ;) Had a look at tomorrows racing , thought the 4.20 was promising but coul only discount 1 out of the top 5 in the betting , the others virtually inseparable. jtw1
Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends Nothing for SATURDAY If anyone's interested i've applied the most obvious trends to the NATIONAL- AGE, WEIGHT, ODDS,WINS OVER 3M . In my extremely humble opinion it should be between JOE'S EDGE, POINT BARROW and BEWLEYS BERRY. Good luck ALL :hope
Kanga
Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends Great results JTW - and good to see your national picks - I narrowed it down to the same 3 and in that order too - bother na looks a possible and hedgehunter could place despite a troubled preperation - IMHO

CARA SPOSA just gets the nod in front of ROSSIN GOLD due to the latter only having a 4th place the best acheived in his last two outings and last ran 36 days ago CARA SPOSA is a 5y-old, placed 2nd LTO - 29 days ago , will probably be in the top 3 in the betting. Th other DIVISION of this Novice has 2 4-yolds and two others who have not raced for over 100 days in the top 4 betting-wise. The FAV could be anything as it has ran several good races in class company on the flat in FRANCE , but has not jumped a Hurdle in public . Therefore NO BET in DIV 2. jtw1
Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends 2.10 EXETER 2M6F NOV HURDLE 7 out of 9 winners were in the top 3 in the betting [ 3 FAVS from last 5 successful ] AGE - 4 x 6y-olds , 3 x 5y-olds , 2 x7 y-olds. 7 out of 9 were down to carry 11-0 or above. P HOBBS has a record of - 2nd , Fell [15l clear at last when fell] , 1st + 3rd from 4 entries. Not a great deal to go on ,but NODFORMS VICTORIA is FAV , a 6y-old , carries 11-0 and is trained by P HOBBS . It also won a NH Flat race on GD going so hopefully the ground will not be a problem. 35 bets 18 winners 7 placed Profit = 194.65 pts to a 10pt level stake Yield = 55.67%
jtw1
Re: JTW1's Specialisation - Trends NODFORMS VICTORIA 2ND @ EVS FAV to a 33/1 shot, That was probably one of the poorest races run this NH season , fully 23 secs above ave on GD-FM !!!!!!! WEDNESDAY - NEWMARKET - 4.20 - 1M1F LISTED RACE. 10 out of 10 winners had ran between 1-4 times as a 2Y-OLD. 8 out of 10 winners were returned at single figures in the betting [only 1 clear FAV, 1 JT] Only one prev winner had run on the AW , finishing 1st. 9 out of 10 finished 1st/2nd LTO. 9 out of 10 were 10/1 or under LTO. 9 out of 10 had won at 7f or 1m as a 2Y-OLD. Applying the above leaves us with AL SHEMALI + PETARA BAY. PETARA BAY gets the tentative nod over STOUTE'S runner mianly due to the RACING+FOOTBALL outlook's write up on TERRY MILL'S colt . After a poor debut he made amens by winning his 2nd outing at HAYDOCK from the FAV AJHAR. He then ran better than his placing appears when 10th in the RACING POST TROPHY run in the mud at NEWBURY. Had every chance 1+1/2 f out when the ground took it's toll and D O'NEIL 'looked after him' ;) NEWMARKET - 4.55 - 7F G+G MAIDEN 9 out of 10 winners were in the first 4 in the betting. 9 out of 10 [ can't verify the 10th] runnings was won by a colt. 9 out of 10 won one of the recognised top trainers . 8 out of 10 had ran as a 2Y-OLD , 6 of those had been placed. SNAFFY , trained by the man in form B.HILLS gets the selection in front of SHEVCHENKO.
