Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 Man Utd. Ronaldo and Neville are set to return for Man Utd.The duo have recovered from knocks that kept them out of the weekend win at Wigan with Wes Brown and Solskaer likely to make way . If Ronaldo does not shake off his ankle injury Giggs looks like to play a part having played 45 minutes on Saturday after his hamstring problem. Giggs has been by far Manchester United's best player this season. His substitution brought 3 goals to the team at the weekend to allow United to come from 1 goal down to win 3-1 at Wigan, and with Giggs starting at Old Trafford, Manchester United look good for a win today, and a handsome win too. Manchester United look cast iron banker material to beat FC Copenhagen, but at 1/7 theres nothing for us punters to make anything decent on. Rooney is even money with Coral to score in the match, and 4/1 with the same firm to notch first. He played well in the Red Devils' 3-1 weekend win at Wigan and I have no doubt he has the class to unhinge a mediocre Copenhagen rearguard. For any value in tonights match youve got to be looking at the asian handicap Man Utd -1.5, -2 @ 1.775 looks a solid with Bet365 bet as does Giggs TSF @ 10 with Paddypower or have faith in Rooney to score 2 or more goals with Paddypower @ 3.75.

ReasoningLyon as per usual have maintained their strong start to the season. They are a solid outfit who are not far off the top teams in Europe. Kiev, meanwhile are only an average side and this should be a fairly comfortable win for Lyon. 1.81 is a fair price and a 2-0 win looks on the cards imo.

ReasoningReal have a solid attack and a weak defence and the same can be said for Steau even though their attack is not world class like Reals. Madrid thumped Kiev 5-1 in their last Champs League game and this should be another goalfest tonight with both teams likely to go for it. The price is far too tempting and im going in with a big stake.

Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006

ok, enough with this, you are really acting like Nostradamus now :lol interesting reasoning for Man Utd game :ok , but all of us would apreciate if you could give us reasoning for 1-0 exact score in Steaua v Real match.
Romanians are a well qualified team with high expectations from European tournaments this season. All of you know their last year's performance in UEFA cup.All their games relied on aggressiveness from the first minute. However, years have proven that no matter the current form of a fromal CL winner, traditions in the tournament play a major role and such clubs tend to get what they want no matter the cost.Fabio Capello's approach is very pragmatical with less emphasis on beauty and more stress on the points.Juventus's stadium was always half empty last season even when they played CL matches due to this fact.Taking into account that the game is played in Romania Capello will be even more cautious having seen Steaua's previous games. However,if Real lose points in Romania they face the challenge of beating Lyon in order to qualify for the knock-out stages. So I expect an early goal and a VERY boring second half. That means Steaua-Real Madrid 0-1. Hope you are all contend now with this analysis.Real M backers good luck!:ok

I think you have gone too far with your agressiveness and arrogance just because you won something sometime with Liverpool while others didn't. Please stop this premature commenting job. I would appreciate your comments if you make profits and share your views BEFORE the matches so that others can win as well.
See my tips about Manchester UTD-FCK Steaua-Real Madrid If you all want to win as well

No' date=' actually German football is the best. Proof? Watch Werder spank Levski 6:0 tomorrow after Barca managed 5:0 and Chelsea 3:1 ;)[/quote'] You are right. As I live in Bulgaria I know a lot about bulgarian football's quality.I agree Levski will be hammered tomorrow I am thinking of putting all my bank on Werder as 1.22 is a huge gift from bookies.

ReasoningWe all know Lyon's strenght. They are in awesome form and they are winning all possible matches.Today Lyon is travelling to outsiders of this group Dynamo Kiev.Awfull performances against Steaua and Real.2:9 goal difference so far. That's not optimistic at all in front of the clash against mighty Lyon :) I'm all over Lyon in this one. They are just one level above Dynamo

Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 Celtic v Benfica Pick: Benfica +0.25 @ 1.95 bet 365 Celtic could be missing up to 5 first team players for the visit of Benfica with Gravesen out and also Hesslink, Zurawski, McGeady and Naylor all possibly out as well. Benfica will be minus Rui Costa and Karagounis. Benfica will according to the papers play with 3 up front with Celtic to go with a more defensive 4-5-1. Benfica will require a result here after picking up only 1 point so far and the double header with Celtic should determine who finishes second. Celtic did not look that great against Dundee United at the weekend and fell 1-0 behind before running out 4-1 winners. Although Celtic have a good record at home in the Champions League with so many players out I think Benfica are worth a small punt.

Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 lyon randal,... : lyon is probably very high on confidence but as i explained above, kyiv is no outsider, they have much experience in CL, they did beat big teams home.. lot times... lyons form is little too good lately, to good to be that high forever and i think it may end tonight (not win). tbh, i didnt see the A-1 odds, they actually are lot better than A-0.5.

Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 Today I´m trying Steua on a ML. I´m not that convinced over Reals playing away and they will meet an massive audiance here, Lyob bet the romanians but I+m not too sure that Real wll manage it. Over 2.5 is´nt a good bet as I see it. Real bet Dinamo at home with 5-1 and Steua them away with 4-1 but that doen´s mean that it´s the same as many goals here. Capello is coach and I think that he will try to closde the game if Madrid scores first. Nice odds on Steua so I´m trying Steua ML at 3.10 by Betsafe.

Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 Watching the Arsenal game. The sooner they decide that trying to walk the ball into the back of the net is not the answer the better. Why don't they get a big striker in the box. Someone who can head the ball. Maybe then they'll get more chances.

Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 Man Utd - Copenhagen I think this will be tighter than most people seem to think 1/6 is a dreadful price on Utd, and there is no way I am backing them at anything like that price. A better bet I think is to back MOST GOALS IN THE 2nd HALF @ 11/10 (Stan James). Uts have struggled to break down weaker, more defence minded teams in the first half of many CL games, and I can see the same thing happening here. 3pts

Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 I'll be very careful with Lyon. Although noone expects them to win, the Ukrainians are very hungry for their first point. After 2 heavy defeats, I'm sure they'll be all out to prove themselves. And they are a good team, the quality is still there. Kiev is never a good host, especially in the winter. On Lyon side, they don't need the win badly to qualify as they currently have 6 points. 2 home games against Kiev and Steaua will provide at least 4 points to make it the magic 10, and with the good H2H record against main contenders (Real and Steaua) they will qualify, no doubt. What makes me worried is that Lyon will visit Marseille this Sunday. This top-of-the-table battle should weight more than the Kiev game. I agree that Lyon is probably the best team in Europe atm, but if they don't have to win who knows what will happen. Furthermore, Lyon winning streak will be stopped somewhere, so why not in Kiev? Along with the highly motivated Dynamo, the weather, and huge home crowd support, I won't risk my money on Lyon. So this is a no bet game for me. Lille-AEK game is less attractive with the 1x2 or even the AH. Lille normally don't score many goals in European games while AEK will try to defend at all cost. The Greeks won't play for a win but a point. I think the Under is the best bet for this game. Milan won't find the game in Brussel any easy. The home team looks pretty solid this season despite having sold their best known defender. Milan are struggling to find the net atm, the problems are both their system and human factor. Gila fail to fill Sheva's boots while Super Pippo doesn't perform consistently. Oliveira is too light weight for European games, he is not yet ready for this level. I don't see the home team score (they will probably aim for a draw) and Milan may win with the odd goal. So the Under is very promising. Porto should get their first win tonight. Eventhough they are not particularly brilliant this season, their opponents proved to be the favourite team to bet against atm. Hamburg's long injury list plus their terrible form should be pursuasive enough for me to bet on home win. Best bet of the night I reckon. ManYoo -1.75 AH is also a good bet. FC Kobenhav without their most experienced defender (Bergdolmo) and midfielder (Gronjkaer) can no way get anything from this match. Allback hasn't proved himself in England with Villa, why should he score for Kobenhav against ManYoo? The home team might not be on top form atm but they should have enough to beat Kobenhav comfortably. 2-0 at least. I'm very tempted with the price on Real. They are no crap to be priced like that. Their strike force is reliable with the 2 CL best scorers of all time. Look at the squad, we won't need further explanation. Steaua are not bad at all, but the way they lost to Lyon at home proved that they don't have the experience for top games. Plus Steaua's absentees, I don't think Real is a risky bet. But I won't put a lot of money on Real away to Eastern Europe. Medium stake on away win. Last words: Be extremely careful with the Eastern Europeans this round. They are hungry, they have the quality and they'll play at home tonight. Arsenal already fukced up in Russia. One down, 2 to go.

Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 Both Lyon and Real went 2 goals up. Gameover in this group I suggest. Lyon will finish top and Real second, Steaua go to the UEFA Cup and Kiev will have to wait for their chance next year.

Very good night for me. Biggest bet for a little while. Thanks to jesper Christiansen (sp?). Cracking saves in the first half kept the score down, then a howler in the 2nd half seals the bet. Get in.

Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 Fukc!!! 3 goals within 40 minutes after a quiet first half. My Under with Lille is ruined. Poor Hamburg can't get worse as Porto bag the 4th. ManYoo put the AH beyond doubt with the 3rd and Real just did it nicely, 4-1 can't believe it!!!

Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 Chelsea v Barcelona Chelsea will be forced to field their 3rd choice goalkeeper Hilario who has yet to play in the Premiership for them as both Cech and Cudicini areinjured. These two clubs have met for the past three seasons, Chelsea knocking Barca out 5-4 then last year Barca knocking Chelsea out 3-2. The last meeting at Stamford Bridge, Barca won 2-1. Eidur Gudjohnsen who used to play for Chelsea and now plays for Barca, will know everything about them.Barca have not lost in their last 15 Champ League games. Barca won 3-1 at the weekend with Ronaldinho scoring twice and are unbeaten in the league. Barcelona 10/10 @ 3 coral Bordeaux v Liverpool Bordeaux have met English sides on four previous occasions home and away and have never won, they have also failed to win their last ten Champions League games. Bordeaux have lost their last three Champs League home games and are yet to score in this competition. Liverpool 10/10 @ 2.69 betfair

This is perfect example of poor money managament - never mind is your current bank 1, 10, 100, 1000 or 100000$, putting all your betting bank on one single football match is the most stupid statement I saw on betting forums ever. But, you said "I am thinking", so my suggestion is to think twice about that.

Re: Champions League 17/18 October 2006 OLYMPIAKOS v ROMA In the Group D of the Champions League, Valencia is first (6 points) followed by Roma (3), Olympiakos (1) and Shakthar (1). The Greek team lost at home to Valencia (2-4) and drew away against Shakthar (2-2), Roma won the first game (4-0) and lost in Spain (1-2). This is not the best moment for Roma. Last Sunday they lost in Reggio Calabria against Reggina (0-1) and have left the first place of the Serie A. The number of unavailable players grow day by day: Aquilani and Ferrari joined today the list of injured players (Mancini, Montella, Mexes, Martinez), Totti did not train while Pizarro flied to Chile because of familiar problems. Taddei and Panucci are available but we should not forget that they just came back last Sunday after recovering from their injuries. Because of this situation the odds for Roma are high. It will be very difficult for Luciano Spalletti (coach of roma) to create a line-up. The goalkeeper will be Doni. The defenders will be Panucci, Chivu, Ferrari and Tonetto, the midfield will be composed by De Rossi, Faty (or Rosi), Cassetti, Perrotta and Taddei (as Pizarro and Mancini are not available). The forwarder will be Totti or Vucinic while on the bench will sit Okaka Chuka, a young and promising player. Olympiakos is first in the Greek championship (6 wins out of 6) and has not a good tradition with the Italian teams while Roma always drew in Greece (1964-65, Aris – Roma 0-0 in Greece, 0-3 in Rome; 2002-03 Roma – AEK 1-1, 0-0; 2005-06, Aris – Roma 0-0 in Greece, 1-5 in Rome). Actually a draw would be a positive result for this Roma “in emergency” as the Italian team will then play at home against Olympiakos and Valencia and away against Shakthar. This emergency can be overwhelmed with a strategic (and also difficult to reach) away draw and a home win in Rome against Olympiakos in two weeks, as the situation the squad will probably be better. Pick: Olympiakos (AH+0.25), odds: 1.70, bookmaker: Pointbet, stake: 10/10
