ReasoningA bit early, but I think the odds on Lokomotiv will drop, so I'll put my pick here now. These odds on Lokomotiv (at Skybet) are just way too high in my opinion. Zulte-Waregem isn't playing in their own stadium (because it isn't good enough for European football), but in the stadium of AA Gent. This is about 30kms (+-20 miles) far from Waregem. I doubt they will be able to fill the stadium (about 12000 places?). There is a good field in Gent, which is an advantage for Lokomotiv, because they have the more technical players. Zulte-Waregem won this weekend with 4-2 against Roeselare. They scored 2 goals on penalty. Roussel(striker) got injured in that game, he will not be fit for the game against Lokomotiv. Zulte-Waregem has been far from impressive this season (and the last half of last season). Lokomotiv won on the field of CSKA with 1-2 this weekend. They have won alot in awaygames this season in the competition (7-2-1). The first leg between the two teams ended in a 2-1 victory for Lokomotiv. Lokomotiv dominated the game, but without creating alot of chances. Zulte-Waregem only had one chance in that game (in the 94th minute) and scored out of that 1 chance. The qualitydifference was obvious in the first leg, if you compare the individual qualities of the Lokomotiv-players with the qualities of the Waregem-players you'll see that Lokomotiv has by far the best player on every position. Waregem will probably start the game a bit defensive, but if it's still 0-0 after an hour they will have to attack which will be in the advantage of Lokomotiv, because they seem pretty good on counter-attack. I don't see Waregem scoring, so you could cover this bet with 0-0(@8.00) correct score.

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 Well Sparta Prague don't have to win, but they have a thing or two to prove to their fans and the new manager will be eager to get them going at full throttle not to fall in the trap of complacency - 1.60 still available @ Expekt, although the price has collapsed in other places - the fixture is as good as over and I don't expect the Hearts to put much effort into this match either. No bet under 1.50 though.

ReasoningTo cover my bet on a Lokomotiv Moscow-win as I'm convinced that Zulte-Waregem will not score and a draw is enough for Lokomotiv to go the groupstage.

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 MLADA BOLESLAV v MARSEILLE

Olympique Marseille travels to Czech Republic to qualify for the group phase of the UEFA Cup. In the first leg the French team won only 1-0 and the qualifying has not been ensured. Mlada Boleslav leads the Czech championship with 22 points in 8 games: 7-1-0. Olympique Marseille is second in the French league and comes from an unexpected defeat against Nantes (1-2). In the first rounds of the French championship Marseille has been the positive surprise as the only team to be seen winning in the last years in France has been only Lyon. Marseille has bet on Ribery and it looks like this is a winning bet. As asserted by Albert Emon in an interview concided to the official website of Olympique Marseille, the French team has had some difficulties in the first leg because of the good athletic conditions and fighting spirit of the Czech team. Not available players for Marseille: Zubar (suspended), Cissé, Valbuena (injured). The good news: Ribéry and Pagis will be part of the 18 players called up by the coach. Pick: Marseille (AH)

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 CHIEVO v SPORTING BRAGA

When an Italian team plays in this competition (UEFA Cup) the question is always the same one: how important is this tournament for this team? is it for them better to have double work (Serie A and UEFA Cup) or to concentrate all of their energy in only one tournament? The answer depends probably on the squad and availability of players. Chievo did not start well in Italy, maybe also because of the games they suddenly had to play against Levski. Furthermore Chievo never succeeds in seducing a great number of fans. This team has been appreciated by all Italian sportfans, every one applauded their unbelievable results reached but in the home games Chievo can only be substained by his own supporters. And they are only a few. In the situation I described, I think I will not make mistakes if I assert that Chievo will now only concentrate in the Italian championship and will try not to relegate. As regards to his squad and line-up it is too soon to know which players will be in the starting eleven but the list of not available players should not change: Lanna, Mantovani, D’Anna, Cossato, Marchese are out while Zanchetta and Semioli are questionable. The best option would be to bet on Sporting Braga to qualify, even when the odds are too low (at Betfair you find 1.20), this option is not offered by the bookmakers. We shall not forget that Chievo could win by one as Sporting would qualify anyway but I really think that Sporting will try to take no risks as last year they had been eliminated by Red Star Belgrade without defeats (0-0, 1-1). Pick: Sporting Braga (AH+0.50)

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 Cska Sofia - Beşiktaş Hard game for both team (First game win Besiktas 2:0 ) BJK have too much problem in defender zone and i think of this reason they lost in Bulgarian. BJK have few injure problem ; Koray, Ali Günes and Delgado all rhree out of squad. İbrahim Toraman and Gökhan Zan can maybe play ,if not its big trouble for the team. I will follow the latest team news... For this moment my selection is Cska Sofia to win. BJK Squad ; İbrahim Üzülmez, İbrahim Toraman, Mustafa Doğan, Murat Şahin, Gökhan Zan, İbrahim Akın, Mehmet Sedef, Ali Tandoğan, Baki Mercimek, Fahri Tatan, Gökhan Güleç, Serdar Kurtuluş, İbrahim Kaş, Burak Yılmaz, Kenan Özer, Vedran Runje, Nobre, Kleberson, Bobo, Ricardinho.

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 I think that the tip of the day is the away win of Panathinaikos, and the odds are realy very good! The two teams have big differences between them, the Greek team have of course better material and afterwards the ugly result in the first fight the coach Mpake left, something that rather good it did in the team. I see victory for the Panathinaikos with low score. so... Metalurg Z. - Panathinaikos 2..... good luck......;) ;)

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 About Partizan ... what can you say about my team ? These guys are really unpredictable , struggling very hard in our League , against pretty weaker opponents ( Vojvodina , Mladost (A) ) and performing well in Europe . Only two very stupid defensive mistakes prevent Partizan from trashing Groningen 4 , 5, :0 in Belgrade. Partizan played really powerfull in that game , with lot of running , constant attacks and threats to Groningen goal , plenty of shots on a goal , just like we all want our teams to play . Guests have shovn very pale image , thier defence was leaking big time ,they looked like they have no interest to play at all . And with that awful peformance they managed to score twice , after Partizan`s tragic mistakes. Groningen is mighty force at their home ground , no doubt. Partizan is strange team , that can beat almost everyone , and in same manner lose to almost anyone. Partizan has no injury or suspension worries for tomorrow`s game. I see it simple , if we go there and try to keep our advantage from first game , we are very close to elimination , and big goal difference defeat. If we try to score , and play attacking football like we did at home , anything is possible, and in that case i hope to see us going to group stage. So , my advice is this , stay away from 1X2 bets , it can go either way , especially is low odd on hosts 1.65 (local ) , and try your luck with goals , OVER 2.5 ( around 1.7 ) is very ,very possible , as defences of both teams are no good , and for braver punters maybe even OVER 3.5 , or two goals in first half . GL!

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 I agree with You crybaby_bz about Rapid. I wanna bet on Rapid's promotion to next phase. It is valued @1,45 and looks fair odds to combo. Moreover I think Panathinaikos will gain a victory at Zaporoze, Ukraine( promotion is valued @1,70). This two types give us a @2,46 and looks comfortable. GL

Sport Football (Euro Cups)
Event Mlada Boleslav v Marseille
Selection Marseille -0.25 (Asian Handicap)
Strength 10/10
Date 28/09/2006
Bookmaker/Price Betfair @ 1.83 (Back)
Reasoning Marseille won their clash last time 1 - 0 in Marseille home. Mlada Boleslav is a Czech team who is in form in their home league by topping the table. However, tonight Marseille would at least need a draw to qualify. But, since they do have the potential to win, I'm quite confident on taking the AH with cover of half losses if they are settled for a draw. Probable Line Ups : Marseille : Carrasso - Beye, Civelli, Cesar, Taiwo - Cana, M'Bami, Oruma - Ribéry, Maoulida, Niang

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 Randers-Fenerbache (-1) Asian Awaywin 2.01 Pointbet Uefa cup action in Aarhus. The are a few reasons to take this bet imo. 1. Most signifiant reasons, is offcause the class difference in the teams. Last season, Fenerbache where playing in the Champions league, while Randers was playing in the Danish 1. division. Tells you a bit like the diffrence. 2. The game will not take take place at Randers normal homeground as it is to small. They will play in Aarhus. 3. It will be like a homegame for Fenerbache. Turks from all over northern europe will be travelling to this game, and they will easy out number the Randers support. Over 10.000 Fenerbache supportes are expectet. 4. Fenerbache is in fine form. They have won 5 of their last 7 games domesticly, and offcause beat Randers 2-1 at home in the first leg. Randers looks tired after a buzy schedule with Uefa cup, Dansish cup and Sasliga action. In the last two games, they only got 1 point against bottom clubs Viborg and Silkeborg. Cannot imagine anything else than a awaywin here.

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 Hapoel Tel Aviv VS Odese Chornomorets Hapoel is expected to go through easily . They were OK last match and won 1:0 (subtitute De Bruno's goal) , and now the games are back in Israel , so they will play infront of a full packed "Bloomfield Stadium" in Tel aviv . Our local bookie in Israel gives 1.35 for Straight HW , so see the difference .. Their head coach Izhack Shum has a lot of european experience . Probably he's the best Israel coach of all time , after won championships with Maccabi Haifa (leading them to the CL for the first time) , and even won the "double" with Panathinakos Pireos ! .. He's known in Israel with his attacking formations , always wishing to win ,specially at home . Hapoel Tel Aviv (4-4-2) Elimelech Haliva Pais Hen Antebi Abuksis Badeer Dego (or De Bruno) Tuama (or Abutbul) Barda Julic so .. 1) Hapoel has a very good history in UEFA CUP . In 2001 they got to the 1\4 finals , after defeating Lokomotiv Moscow, Chelsea & Parma !!! At last, they won 1:0 against AC Milan but lost 2:0 away to be eliminated . 2) The Israeli people are very happy to get the games back to Israel , after the war in Lebanon 2 months ago , so the stadium will be packed and everyone will wish for a win here I expect Hapoel to win . 2:0 or 2:1 CS . Hope it helped . Maydan

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 Litex VS Maccabi Haifa As a loyal Maccabi Haifa supporter , I must agree it will be very hard to get something in Bulgaria . Maccabi In Europe After Qualifying the CL (2002) we had several years of purely bad luck on the european competitions. Losing against Rosenborg (2004) ,Malmo (2005) and Liverpool (2006) after dominating each of those games . A little pressure on our head coach, Roni Levi , as press discussed his "lousy" preformances on those games , specially after 5 championships in the last 6 years in Israel . Maccabi VS Litex (First Leg) We were sh*t . Terrible mistakes and lack of concentration from our attacking strikers Katan & Colautti cost us the game , as we had many chances during the 1st half . 2nd half we got "out of the blue" goal from Litex as their winger ran about 30 yards and the defence stood still . The game was in Holland due to UEFA discussion . If it was in Israel we should 've win it with ease . Coming to this game We were sh*t in the local league as well . A 1:0 win against Maccabi Petach-Tikva last week came very hard , and there was no attacking football as we used to see in the last years . Some players are out-of-form right now (Midfielders Xavier Dircaeu & Colautti for example) , and the press is all over Maccabi at the moment and rumored Colautti wishes to leave the country , after sitting on the bench last game (vs Petach Tikva) . The day after he told the press he is happy and will stay .. ;) Litex VS Maccabi (Today) Maccabi will come to WIN this game , altough nobody (even me , and I'm very optimistic) believes it will be that way . We'll play 4-4-1-1 formation: Davidovic Meshumar, Olarra , Keinan , Keisee Boccoli , Dircaeu , Suan , Massudi Katan Collauti Players are very determinated to qualify , specially after UEFA "brought football back to Israel" ,and next round will be played here . All the fans & the players describe this as the most important game of the season for Maccabi Haifa . We have players with alot of International Experience so they can come and play "for the score only" , but lack of fitness and quality may uccur here .. I hope Im wrong . NO BET for me . Anything can happen here (altough I think Maccabi +0.5 is great) Hope it helped . Maydan

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 Rovers should qualify with the crucil 2 goals away from home but keeping cleans sheets isnt excatly Rovers strong point. I can see Rovers taking the lead but 'switching off' later in the game when Saltzburg have settled into the match Rovers/Draw is a big price at 15's and at 1-1(6.5) Blackburn can still go through. Realisticly I can see it being 2-1 to Blackburn (8.5) CMON YOU BLUES:nana

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 Dinamo Bucharest - Xanthi Skoda. Easy game to predict. In the first leg it was 4-3 for Dinamo. After this game Dinamo won against Steaua Bucharest who is also playing in CL. They've attacked the whole match. Because Dinamo's style of play is very offensive they will try to win this one too. They don't know to play for a draw and even the players's declarations are all about winning the game. Dinamo's coach has 3 very good and experimented strikers but he plays with only 2 forwards. So every game one striker is sitting on the bench and the coach is using squad rotations so the strikers are trying to show him they deserve to be allways in the first squad. This is a good thing because everytime a substitute from last match scored in the next match. There are no big changes in the squad. On the other side are Xanthi. They didn't won any match yet in the championship and their coach just leaved before this game. I saw the first match and they scored from long shots because Dinamo's defensive midfielders allowed them to shot, but this won't happend tonight. There is a big difference between these 2 teams and after all Dinamo won all their game this season!!! So my prediction is on Dinamo. It could be also an over 2.5 GL

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 The problem with the Uefa Cup is that some times do not have the motivation to win and a lot fo money is lost there. Blackburn go through with a 1-1 and if they go 1-0 down and get the draw they will defend rather than risk for the 2-1 winner. I think West Ham x/2 has some good value considering Palermo go through with a draw and even if they lose 1-0 they go into extra time. Palermo dont have the motivation to win

Tricky. If I had to put it on someone it has to be a team that was trashed at home and now plays away against a big opponent. Like Ajax vs Start... I don't think Start have the motivation to score 3 goals in Amsterdam so they are will try to keep the scoreline respectable. Feynoord, Lens, Bayer Leverkusen and Rangers are all interesting picks.

Re: UEFA Cup matches - Thu 28/09 Panathinaikos is a very very good bet for tonight...As coach said "We will fight for the win...All depends on our team"....In my opinion Panathinaikos is in good form....Ivansic,Salpigidis,Papadopoulos,Bovio(Brazilian),and Romero(Argentinian) will make a lot of problems in Metalurg defence..So for me Away Win!!!
