Re: CL matches 12/09

The defence of Werder is not too strong nowadays and with 3rd choice keeper it'd be even more difficult for the visitors.
Just some words about Werder's keeper, Andreas Reinke. He's not wearing the No.1 shirt for fun, he was their No.1 choice for 2,5 years (after Rost went to Schalke). After a collision with a Stuttgart player last season, he suffered serious skull fractures and it was doubtful if he ever would be able to play football again. Werder then got Wiese as a replacement because they didn't want to have an inexperienced youth keeper in their goal for the rest of the season. Reinke was their goalie when they became german champs in 2004 and also was Kaiserslautern's keeper when they became champs in their 1st Bundesliga year after promotion in the mid 90's. He was never nominated for the national team, but still is one of the most consistent german keepers of the last decade, so he's definitely not your typical 3rd choice goalie.

Re: CL matches 12/09 I know mate, I was thinking rather about game experience in the recent times and this only includes his presence in last weekend German Cup game. In my opinion, Werder with Reinke will be weaker anyway that it'd have been if Wiese stands between posts. Let's see what Chelsea show us today, I am looking forward to see 2-0 or 3-1 ;)

Re: CL matches 12/09

arneko_fe - a decent post, mate :ok However, let me not agree with you as I have rarely seen Werder "keeping the ball". This is one of the most offensive team around and this style will surely suits Chelsea! The hosts will have much space to use their midfields and passing the balls to Szewczenko - Drogba. Both strikers are in form, Szewa keeps attention of at least 2 defenders every game while Droga uses his strenght so efectively... Chelsea: Cech - Boulahrouz, Ricardo Carvalho, Terry, Ashley Cole - Essien - Ballack, Lampard - Wright-Phillips, Shevchenko, Drogba Werder: Reinke - C. Fritz, Pasanen, Naldo, Womé - Baumann - Frings, Borowski - Diego - Klose(?), Klasnic In my opinion, neither team will defend the draw so we will see an open game which will favor Chelsea. The defence of Werder is not too strong nowadays and with 3rd choice keeper it'd be even more difficult for the visitors. All in all, I am placing a bet on CHELSEA (asian -1) @1.78
A beast??? Omg.. hope not!!!!!!:rollin (joke a side) After reading your comments, (I'm not sturbant) I have to agree open game will suit Chelsea the most. Another reason why I wrote about the holding balls issues (probably i left out "HOPING"), is mainly due to Bremen offensive play too. We have seen many times how their beautiful midfielder creating chances, pressing game enable them to win againts the opponent in a huge goal margin. I'm not sure if I can call their midfield as one of the best in Europe, but certainly they have the quality to send the ball into the net. I was thinking, if they would have to make use of their strength in that role and since Chelsea is in a transition period to change style due to the new signing, they will have a good chance to have a lot of possesion in games like this. (Btw, having a lot of possesion doesnt means you will win the game.) A lot of times, open game doesnt give you many goals, since both side is trying to create chances and ball possesion becoming equal, the time pass too fast. Number of chances per side also slash down a lot. I think low scoring will hapen tonight. :cheers (2-0 will be good for both of us) Cheers

Reasoning There isn't much reasoning needed for this bet Barca is in form they played great against Osasuna, only missing is Marquez, Belleti and Gio back is squad. It is a very difficult group and Barca will need the points today, also goal difference could be decisive later on so they will try to get the most out of this game, and i think that's gonna be a 3-0, maybe more.

Re: CL matches 12/09

i dont understand how people can go on bayern' date=' they are not giving any confiidence last months. imo very possible draw. anotherb very likely draw is as roma - shaktar.[/quote'] Bayern beat Bochum and Borrusia Dortmund, and had an excellent transfer period, lost ballack but brought van Buyten, Podolski and van Bommel! Ok they had a dead leg against St Pauli but that doesn't mean anything this is CHAMPIONS LEAGUE it doesn't get bigger then this at club level, It's a pretty hard group and they will play their hearts out. This is their line-up for tonight: Kahn - Sagnol, Lucio, Van Buyten, Lahm - Salihamidzic, Van Bommel, Hargreaves, Schweinsteiger - Makaay, Podolski Now how does that not give confidence ???!!:D Edit : PS : I actually think that Shaktar will defeat Roma :) , although not so confident as to place a bet.

i know about those transfers and i'm not talking about st pauli man. their pre season was very bad. their league is not that great. i think the transfers actually will need some time to work new players in the team. ballack loss is probably too big. podolski is big star already no doubt about it and he is good player too but all in all bayern has some names but theres lots of questions about the team for me. i dont think there is reason to take 1.35 tonight, imo that is underprice just cos of bayern name. russians are capable of drawing bigger teams. and really bayern is not in good form. only thing i wonder is how podolski will do in CL cos i sort of like his play. about roma, its little tricky, roma had good results in CL already but i somewhat feel draw there.

Re: CL matches 12/09 Event : Sporting Lisbon v Inter Milan Selection : Inter to win Bookmaker/price : 2.20 @Betfair Reasoning : Inter almost every year goin throuth the groups very easy and I think that this time is strongest that anytime! We saw this against Fiorentina (2-3) and Roma (4-3). They made excellent transfers and they are a very quality team. Event : PSV v Liverpool Selection : Under 2.5 Bookmaker/price : 1.62 @Betfair Reasoning : Both of teams are not in a good form and i believe that this would be a bad game. For PSV the chief Cocu is out (Very important miss). Liverpool playing bad football and they will most looked to keep clean sheat for this game.

Re: CL matches 12/09 Olympiakos - Valencia Valencia showed some signs of weakness in their away match with Salzburg in CL qualifications where they lost 1:0. Olympiakos is in good shape and had a nice prep.period winning games quite easily. They didn't change much from last year and I think they can win this game in Greece. I'll try homewin in this match, [email protected]. and also a try on Rivaldo to score a goal in the match, betfair @3.5.GL~

Re: CL matches 12/09 Barcelona - Levski Defending champion Barcelona plays their first CL game this season at home with newcomers Bulgarian champion Levski. Levski did a great job winning over Italian Chievo so they won the right to play in CL this season which is big success for them. They will have a mission impossible in this group with Barca and Chelsea, but they will fight at least for that third UEFA spot. Shouldn't be problems for Barca in this game, thye are playing at home we all know their strenght, but I think we won't see some trashing either. Levski is decent club nowdays and I believe they will put a nice fight. I see 2:0 or maybe even 1:0 win for Barca. Odds @7 betfair and @8.75 Centrebet. GL~

Salzburg is quite compact team and they were in good form back then so it wasnt easy match at all. They won them very comforably at home. Dont forget valencia is in great league form, recently winning strong atletico away.

Re: CL matches 12/09 PSV - Liverpool PSV hosting Liverpool in their first match in CL this season. Hiddink left PSV to train Russian NT, which is big blow for home side. Also some players left and PSV doesn't look like team from past years. Liverpool upgraded the team with few signings and we will see how will be their season. All in all I think Draw is probable result here. PSV is not looking like they are able to win but neither Liverpool seem so strong to prevail in Holland. So pick Draw, betfred @3.25.GL!

Re: CL matches 12/09 Chelsea - Werder Chelsea bought lot's of stars from all over the world, so now with likes of Sheva and Ballack they look really great. But the names don't play soccer. I think they will need time to find the right rhythm, and I don't see Werder chanceless here. They didn't change their squad a lot and they might give a hard time to this new Chelsea... I will try 1:1 correct score low stakes, betfair@11. GL

imo, levski would do best if they focus on their home league already cos they dont have chance. barcelona, werder, chelsea all have chances and need every point. imo, barcelona will set levski straight about where they belong tonight, with 3:0 or 4:0.no matter if levski is getting better or not, they dont have chance here.

Re: CL matches 12/09 @LaMunxo, yep I'm very aware of good form Valencia is having right now. Still I find the odds on home side pretty high. Oly is typical home team and this year they might be a surprise... They didn't change much from last year so they know what they have to do. Valencia won two games in Primera but that doesn't make them unbeatable... And yeah, Levski maybe don't stand a chance, but 2:0 is enough for Barca in their first leg. They are not yet on their peak imo despite all, Levski is....

Re: CL matches 12/09 sure anyone is beatable. i just think valencia has good form advantage in this moment and this group is absolutely equal (i expect lot of draws and away wins) so actually result from this night may take them further in the end. i think valencia still better a little then others. gl.

Re: CL matches 12/09 Roma - Shakhtar Roma is favourite at home with Shakhtar from Ukraine and I think they should win the game. They started the league well and won confortably with Livorno at home 2:0. Shakhtar is rock solid club from east but still need something extra for top results in CL. Odds for homewin are low for me so I decided to try some special bets on Roma. Totti didn't score with Livorno and actually missed the penalty, so I think he will be eager to score today... And anyway he said himself that this year he wants to play upfront and score more goals. So let's try: Totti to score first and Roma to win 3:1, bet365 @46, and to win 2:1 still with Totti the first scorer @31. One unit each. GL~

Tip Detail
SportFootball (Euro Cups)
EventChelsea v Bremem
Selectionover 2.5 goals
Strength10/10
Date12/09/2006
Bookmaker/Price>Betfair @ 1.85 (Back)
ReasoningBremen played 10 games in the champions league last year and 8 games were over 2.5 goals the other 2 had 2 goals in them. I seem to remember the year before they got beat 7 - 2 aswell by lyon. They are attacking team with Klose upfront, i don't actually rate Klose as a footballer but he seems to have the knack of scoring goals. Chelsea i expect to score at least a couple of goals against bremen with Shevchenko and Drogba up front

Re: CL matches 12/09 Sofia had a bad warm-up to the Barcelona clash - Some players didn't play over a pay dispute and they played a youth-side winning 8-0. Not ideal. Sofia plan to play like Sevilla in the Super Cup, catching the Catalans on the counter but the quality they have versus that of Sevillas is fairly big, plus Barca are at home and will want to get off to a flyer. The Levski coach said they will go to attack and would be happy to get a point. With that in mind I think Barca being the overwhelming favourites anyway, tere will be plenty goal-mouth action. 3-0 has been bandied around and I think that's a fair estimate. Barca undoubted quality, the win shouldn't be in doubt here's my punts; Barcelona -2 @ 2.00 Paddypower Etoo ATG @ 1.72 Betdirect Bayern vs Spartak Moskva Initially i thought Spartak may be of slight value +1 but recent statistics suggest otherwise. They have not won in 17 CL matches. More to the point they struggled to overcome fairly weak opponents to reach this stage, Tiraspol they overcame on an away goal, and they beat Liberec 2-1 to seal their passage. Not statistics of a brilliant team really. Bayern are a class above despite Ballack leaving and their unimpressive start to the season, my only worry is Bayerns full squad played into ET against St.Pauli. Spartak are slightly underestimated considering current form/results. Advocaat is a good manager so this will be an interesting clash, no question. Going on Spartaks past leaky defences in previous campaigns and the fact Bayern should be bale to stick a couple past the overs may be worth a look, however i'm saving this for the , In-play market, keep an eye out for the corners Chelsea vs Werder Bremen Both teams will be desperate to get off to a win, Chelsea have the home advantage and probably better team but I wouldn't discount Bremens goal threat. Klose is a doubt which would be a major blow for the Germans but they have scorers frm elsewhere on the park. Chelski's defence hasn't impressed me this season, it's been far from the back 4 of last term. The shuffling of left-back won't do much to help stabilise it either, so i can see Chelsea conceding but i also think they will probably win, maybe 2-1, and are well capable of scoring 2 goals on this stage. Two attacking sides, both will go for the 3 points. So my pick; Over 2.5 goals @ 1.80 sportingodds Galatasaray vs Bordeaux This is an interesting clash, Bordeaux are off to a fairly good start in the league whereas Galatasaray, traditional torch bearers of the Turkish league have been poor, sitting midtable with one win and 4 draws. Their defence is quite shoddy form what i hear plus they miss several players. I feel the French can get a result here (in the Olympic stadium). It's tough going away to Turkey definately, but the Galatasaray squad isn't what we're used to seeing i don't think. I expect goals here also. Bordeaux +1 @ 1.70 sportingodds Over 2.5 goals @ 2.25 StanJames Olympiakos vs Valencia Staying clear of this, could go either way, draw perhaps the most likely. Rivald returns whereas Valencia miss 3 or 4 players whose names fail me, but are enough to put me off this encounter. PSV vs Liverpool Another no bet game for me, two sides slightly unpredictable going into this game, no solid form to look at and could swing either way. Roma vs Shakhtar Donetsk From what i've read the Spaletti the manager is a bit nervous about his first CL game for the Roma. Pizarro is benched after going in a sulk for being substituted in the weekend victory in Serie A. Roma will most likely go with Totti as the lone striker. Shakhtar have a near full squad I believe and their trusted goalkeeper is back in the side. They rested the key players in the recent league clash which they won 1-0 so should be ship-shape for this. I think Roma have been hyped up a little for this, I fancy the Ukrainians to maybe get a result here. Solid in the league and have produced some good football in previous CL games, plus they have good strength all around. Shakhtar +1 @ 2.50 bluesquare Sporting Lisbon vs Inter Milan Sporting off to 2 straight wins in the league, Inter off the mark well having gone 3-0 up to win 3-2 over the Viola. Cambiasso the scorer of two of those goals will miss this game as will Recoba and rumour has it Materazzi will also miss the game. I think Adriano will start up front also due to Cruzs' absence. Sporting have 3 players missing , quite important ones at that although that's only from what i hear, clarify? Either way i think Inter have the guns to sink Sporting. A two goal margin may be aksing a little too much but that's what i'm going for, Inter -1 @ 4.00

Nobody gives a damn about home league. Players are bored to play in it. Only 5-6 matches per season can be considered as a serious motivation for the players of Levski (against CSKA and Litex, maybe some Cup matches). This season it's all about CL for Levski. The de facto boss of Levski said that their goal is to impress in CL and to sell as many players at the highest prices possible in the winter. Think about Artmedia last season and you will see the master plan of Levski. There is no chance Levski will run back and forth at Nou Camp thinking about home league. It's a part of their 15 minutes of glory, they have waited enough for it so they will try to make the best of it. Stoichkov scored against Barca and entered the world football stage. Shevchenko scored against Barca and went to Milan. That's what's going on inside the heads of Levski's players right now. That said, Barca should have little problems beating them. But Levski's motivation is 100%.
