Re: Multiple account holder caught cheating WOW jsut spent an hour reading 2+2, ZeeJustin is banned from party, loses 100k http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Number=4859737 I would assume Stars will follow suit, as they did with JJProdigy last week The larger multis usually on Sundays may be abit easier now, not alot but at least Zee wont be having 6 logins

Re: Multiple account holder caught cheating I think there is still something missing here. The latest multi-account fiasco was once again brought to the poker rooms attention by another player. When are the poker rooms themselves going to get off their backsides and stop the multi-accounting BEFORE the game starts. It can't be difficult to write software to audit which accounts are entering a tournament and compare them to all others that have entered as to which IP they have been registered from. I think it will be a while yet before they manage to get a grip on this problem.

Re: Multiple account holder caught cheating Didn't have any opinion before I read that, now I think he's a prize tit. I thought exactly the same as lemonjon, only sorry because he got caught. Cheating scum who should have been arrested for theft and fraud. Does anyone know BTW if there's an English equivalent of a class action lawsuit? And if so what the possibility is of a group of online poker players taking a site to court for not taking reasonable steps to prevent fraud and theft?

Re: Multiple account holder caught cheating There is an English equivalent, they're very rare here though - railtrack was an example of that (the shamed boss of whom went to work for betfair!). Think it'd be very difficult to do, numerous problems involved - most obvious one being jurisdiction, most poker sites are officially based in weird overseas tax havens. That said, I'd think any poker site would probably want to settle very quickly, would be horrible publicity.

Re: Multiple account holder caught cheating I know this is a really naive question but how on earth do you go about setting up multiple accounts? I just can't see how it can happen in this day and age. Again, more naiveity.... but can you set up another account from a laptap as it won't have the same IP address?

Re: Multiple account holder caught cheating Hiding ur I.P is easy, and creating a new I.P each time you log is not that difficult either. Some good wireless routers create a new I.P each time you log on and there is numerous I.P proctection software out there. As with everything, were there is a will there's a way

Re: Multiple account holder caught cheating Cheers lemon, guess I wasn't thinking cynical enough? I see you are from Norn Iron? Do the words "we're not brazil" mean anything to you? Edit: Of course uou do - I've just seen the "our wee country" Lived in Antrim for a few years and watched all the EC qualfiers at Windsor Park - now a life time fan.

Re: Multiple account holder caught cheating My understanding is that the IP assigned by your router is your intranet IP (every component in a home network has a unique one) - so changing that won't help. You can do that easily if your router doesn't do it automatically - ip/release then ip/renew in dos/command prompt. Only your ISP can change the IP assigned to your internet connection, which is the one poker sites will monitor. That said, absolutely right that there are numerous ways around it, proxy servers etc - and if anyones still on dial-up they probably have a dynamic IP anyway.

Re: Multiple account holder caught cheating not really anything to do with ip address, they can be bluffed / hidden / changed no worries. Having hte same IP address doesn't prove anything, most routers will perform NAT on the outbound packets giving them all the same source IP, because of the shortage of ip addresses a lot of organisations use non routable address ranges inside (10.x.x.x, 172.18.x.x., 172.16.x.x, 192.168.x.x, etctetc) What's screwed him here is the MAC address, each network card has one, this can not be changed or hidden. It's hardwired into the NIC. If he'd setup his firiewall properly they'd never have caught him.
