Quality mtg today at Wetherby & the lIngfield card is fairly good too. 2.15 Ling Most people have Bob Bob Bobbin in their list to follow after a cracking race at Cheltenham festival when 4th behind Moulin riche in the 3m Nov Hurdle. Brewster was ahead of him that day & that horse is up against Inglis drever today which shows the quality of that race. My initial thought was that BBB was a shoe -in today but on closer inspection I cant get away from Copsale Lad who would surely have finished in the frame at the festival when Brought down in the race won by King harald. The horse then finished 3rd behind Joes edge at Aintree in a good novices chase. Its experience over the bigger obstacles give the edge today. 10pts win @ 4/1 Sp odds 2.45 Ling. Bleu Superbe was a horse i followed last season after i saw it run at sandown behind Oneway. It ended up last on this occasion but led the field until a blunder 3 out put paid to its chances. Impek & Cenkos were both in that race. It also ran a cracker at the festival when i tipped it at 66/1 finishing 8th but again one blunder put paid to its chances when hampered 3 out behind Fota island. It;s final start last year was a good 2nd at Aintree with very good horses behind. I think it will placed at least today. 5pts ew @ 7/1 Total bet 2.50 Weth Inglis Drever will be 1st or 2nd in all staying races this season. I believe this horse is as good as barracouda who was able to chalk up a noticable amount of winnig victories. 7/4 is a great price for the Champion stayer & i'll have 10pts win @ 7/4 Sp odds 3.25 Weth Grey Abbey improved so much last season & won this race with an exceptional style of jumping last term. No reason why it cannot win again. Only defeat last season was a 5th in the gold cup when it was clear the horse was not ready. It returned at Aintree to win the betfair chase by 12l to prove it was a great chaser. 10pts win @ 7/2 Sp odds 4.35 Ling Jonjo has thrown Good Judgement into a novice chase with just 1 run/win in a novice hurdle last season. Close inspection of ther form reveals there are only a couple of certain stayers over what will feel like 3m 4f today in the mud. See you there 5pts ew @ 8/1 Sp odds won 1st time out last season & its C/D win puts it in a great position today. For an outsider in the race, I will also chuck in Kidithou 5pts ew @ 20/1 Sp odds in the same race, as again has proven ability over the longer distance & ignore its latest run on fast ground. Its a bit of a plodder but that is what is required today. I dont see many finishers in this race so those odds are tempting to say the least. 3.05 Ebony light 5pts ew @ 6/1 Sp odds loves the course & is in great form. Best mate returning after injury over an inadequate trip with a different jock on board, Kauto star back after injury cut short its promising season last year, Contraband capped off an impressive season last year with a festival win & the others are no mugs either. I will have to narrow them down, but my initial thoughts are: Bob the builder & Amalfi storm at Towcester Aristozene, Avitta at Haydock may back all 4, not sure, will be checking the ground first to see how much of this rain they have had. Trained by Nigel Tinkler (not a great jumps trainer) & riden by Richard Johnson for its debut. Now an 8yo, only raced up to 10f on the flat but strikes me as an interesting runner in the novice. Available at 50's in some places. I wont be tipping it as i dont think it can beat my selection but it will be interesting to see how it runs. Raced here on 20/10 when 3rd in a similar race albeit there were only 4 finishers & was beaten 14 L by Valance. Looking back at the irish form, this horse ran well over hurdles especially when aimed at 2m & normally tried to make all. recently, they have tried hold up tactics in longer races which has led to the odd mistake or being outpaced. hopefully today they will employ the front running tactics. 5pts ew @ 25/1 Sp odds Ludlow 3.00 CELTIC PRIDE looks a decent price today. from an unknown stable the horse managed 2 wins last season both at Newcastle over 3m on softish ground. Stays the 3m well & most in this race have negatives about them.
