As usual week one of the NFL season threw up some shocks. Kansas City Chiefs, the Bills, the Chargers and the Bengals all lost. At the end of the season all of these teams will be in the play-offs. You must not forget one game does not make a season.

1.      Kansas City Chiefs to win ATS -3.5 points @ 10/11

The Wheels have not come off the super-bowl champions golden carriage. They will be angry to lose to the Lions, but with ten days to game plan, they will take it out the Jags.

2.      Eagles to win ATS -6.0 points @ 10/11

The Eagles were many people’s choice for this year’s super-bowl. They appeared to take their foot of the gas allowing the Patriots back into the game last week. The Eagles will show their true form this week.

3.       Chargers to win ATS – 3.0 points @ 20/21

The Chargers had a real shoot out with the Dolphins last week. They should be able to beat the Titans who look very one dimensional relying on keeping the matches very close and low scoring.

4.      NY Giants to win ATS @ -5.5 points @ 10/11

Despite losing 40-0 against the Cowboys in week one, the Giants played well until falling behind to a blocked field goal. After that the Dallas defence was superb. This week they play the Cardinals who in my opinion are the worst team in the NFL.

5.      New Orleans Saints to win ATS -3.0 points @ 20/23

The Saints will not fear the panthers, with Bryce Young finishing with a QB rating of just 48.8, 3.8 yards per attempt and two interceptions.

5 x 3 point 4 timers

The thought had crossed my mind. I'm just a fellow poster/punter in this thread rather than a "mod" but it does seem to attract a bit more action and traction than top flight Welsh football! I'll get something up for this week anyway.

:ok No problem, yes I am a moderator but my official remit is the footy threads where I stick the prices up every week. In there I'm obviously a respected subject matter expert but in here I'm just flailing about having a few lucky guesses on the TD scorers! :)

That said, it's nice to have a bit of popular demand to potentially bow to.

Agree about Hurts. I haven't got as good a price but it's not far off.

My 888 bets on Thursday didn't come off, but refunded, but did have an acca via virgin who offer any sports for accas, so got lucky with hurts scoring 1st td for philly and a few of the favs in the footy, Spurs being the last to cross the line, lol, so a good 16/1 acca up.

This week will probably go for the Chiefs game, was going to go for Dolphins but feel they might come a cropper at Patriots, maybe thats me being a bit pessimistic as I'm a Dolphins fan, would be looking at a wadell or the unbelievable Hill for first TD for MD if I was.

Not sure if Kelce is back, he'll be busting a gut for a td, so would look at him or Pacheco and Chiefs win.

Just had to do "light touch" for today's games as there's been so much footy to go so it's purely system picks with no study (such as it is; quick look at projections & stats on Fantasy Pro) for any other potential bets. See how these do but it gives me a bit of interest in proceedings.

Robinson (Atlanta) 23/20

Etienne Jr (Jacksonville) 6/5

Kelley (LAC) 11/10

Montgomery (Detroit) 10/11

Pollard (Dallas) 10/11

Hill (Miami) 11/8

I was going to jokingly suggest that anyone who was game for a laugh could do the Henry/Kelley double in that game (anyone below a certain age won't be getting that reference) but, on finding I could get it at 3/1, I've done it anyway! Henry would be a system bet at 1.75 but for the minimum odds criteria. At best odds multiplied it would only pay 3.76 so I'll give it a go at the price. I'm having some joy with same game scorer doubles in "soccer" and I'm surprised to see such an apparently generous price offered in an NFL game.

Saints at Panthers starts MNF. I'm backing a few and hoping to recover some of the losses from this week.

Nope, so just 3/10 this week for a 2.67 point loss to level stakes on the singles. Also 2 losing doubles where I went 1 from 2.

Onto week 3, well done to those who managed a trip to the winners' enclosure.
