The final weekend of Premier League matches for the 2022/23 season are coming up this weekend. The league title has been won by Manchester City. Arsenal, Newcastle, and Manchester United look like the teams that will be joining them in the Champions League. Liverpool and Brighton look set to be the representatives for England in the Europa League. The Europa Conference League qualification spot is then going to be contested between Aston Villa, Tottenham, and Brentford.

Real drama can be found in the relegation dog fight. Southampton had their fate sealed last week and they will be joined by two of Leeds, Leicester, and Everton. Only one can survive. Who will it be? Brighton vs Manchester City

Brighton will be hoping for another win after their last result, a 3-1 Premier League success against Southampton. In that match, Brighton & Hove Albion had 62% possession and 26 shots on goal with eight on target. The home side will likely secure a Europa League ticket since they are three points ahead of the 7th-placed Aston Villa. Now they face the newly-crowned champions, hoping to continue with good performances and book a confidence-boosting win. However, they will go to this game without Jeremy Sarmiento (Metatarsal Fracture) and Tariq Lamptey (Knee Injury), who are unavailable for Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi.

Although they needed to chase Arsenal throughout the campaign, the defending champions managed to retain the crown. Caicedo heads the market based on an average distance of 24 yards based on 27 shots (no pens or direct free kicks taken). Mac weighs in at 22.4 yards from 77 shots (6 pens and 8 free kicks taken). Enciso next at 19.3.

Mac takes more shots, the gap between him and Caicedo closes if you exclude the penalties and he's likely to take any free kicks. Not a market I intend to go down a rabbit hole with but, based on the high level stats, I'll take an interest at the prices in this game.

Been pondering it from a Bet Builder angle (365 25% boost offer applies to the game). How about Brighton double chance (win or draw), btts = yes and Brighton >1 goal at 9/4.

Quite fancy the Brighton win angle but will get the draw on side as well, wouldn't want to bet on City not scoring and Brighton might well need (and be capable of) more than 1 to avoid defeat.

Manchester United vs Chelsea

Manchester United fans will want a repeat of their previous result, the 1-0 Premier League triumph against Bournemouth. Although this is considered a derby match, Manchester United has a much better momentum ahead of this game. The hosts will be more motivated to stay in the top-four zone, and we expect them to beat the Blues at Old Trafford.

Manchester United was involved in games with at least three goals only twice on the previous nine occasions. They tend to get the lead and play without much risk. On the other hand, Chelsea has trouble in front of the opponent's net, and this game should stay under a 2.5 margin.

I've had various bets on Everton to beat Bournemouth.

1/2 to win (3 pts).

7/2 -2 handicap (0.5 pt).

40/1 5-0 (0.1 pt). 

Everton aren't great but got to fancy them fully motivated at home to a disinterested Bournemouth. Need an early goal for the handicap and correct score bets to have a chance.

Chelsea vs Newcastle United

It has been a disappointing campaign for Chelsea since they will finish in the bottom half of the table. The Blues are the biggest underachievers this season, and they won’t compete on the continental stage in September. Going into this contest, Chelsea had been without a win at home for the past six matches in the league. That's never good. The fans hope that things will get  better when Maurizio Pochettino takes over the bench this summer. However, Kante, Mount, James, Cucurella, Chilwell, and Badiashile have been struggling with injuries of late, speaking of the home side, and won’t be featuring for this match.

Newcastle United returns to the Champions League after many troubles during the last decade. The Magpies have secured the top-four finish, and they have a chance to improve. Newcastle lost only three games on the road this season, and they want to finish the campaign in style. They’ve been doing well lately, losing just twice on the previous 13 occasions. Ahead of this game, all Saint-Maximin, Murphy, and Gordon are pushing for recalls to the starting XI, while all Ritchie, Lascelles, and Krafth remain in the recovery room.
