Everton vs Arsenal

Everton will be hoping for a better result following the 2-0 Premier League loss in their previous game against West Ham United. The Toffees are in real trouble since they picked up just a point from the last seven rounds in the English top flight. Everton has not been the best at stopping their opponents recently, although they've also managed to convert their chances into goals. Looking at their last six games, Everton has been punished defensively in 6 of them while also managing to get on the scoresheet in five of those matches. Ahead of this clash, Everton is without a home win in the past four league games. Their supporters are understandably frustrated. Andy Lonergan (Knee Problems) and Andros Townsend (Cruciate Ligament Injury) won't be able to feature for Everton boss Sean Dyche.

Following on from tasting defeat last time out to Manchester City in the FA Cup competition, Arsenal and their traveling supporters will be hoping that they can get a better result in this one. Nevertheless, the Gunners are doing great in the Premier League, being five points ahead of Manchester City with a game in hand. They go to this one after clinching two massive wins over Tottenham and Manchester United. Mikel Arteta's Arsenal has seen their efforts on goal rewarded 12 times throughout their latest six matches. The total of goals they conceded during that period adds up to 5. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has some current player fitness concerns. Gabriel Jesus (Knee Injury), Mohamed Elneny (Knee Injury), and Reiss Nelson (Thigh Problems) will miss out on this game.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

The hosts have such a poor momentum, and we don't believe they can resist in-form Gunners. Therefore, we believe the visitors will return home with another three important points.

Goals Market Prediction

Everton has been involved in some high-scoring matches recently, while Arsenal's offense is on fire. That's why we think the crowd will enjoy at least three goals in total in this encounter.

Newcastle United vs West Ham

Newcastle United, buoyed by their previous result, will be hoping for more of the same after the 2-1 EFL Cup triumph against Southampton. The Magpies are among the biggest overachievers, sitting in the 3rd spot. A run of 15 games without tasting a defeat in the English top flight helped them a lot in that mission. Their latest results highlight that it has been a great time for the Newcastle United defense. Newcastle United have been miserly, with the tally of goals that have flown into the back of their net during their previous six clashes standing at three. Heading into this contest, Newcastle United is unbeaten in its last 11 league matches at home. Visiting teams have certainly not had an easy time of it here, and the home fans hope that streak will continue.

West Ham United will go into this match after a 2-0 FA Cup win to beat Derby County in their most recent game. However, the Hammers are struggling in the Premier League. They are just a point ahead of the red zone, but they managed to break the winless streak. For five of the past six clashes involving West Ham United, a comparatively low number of goals have been struck between them and opposing sides. The average number of goals per game during that period comes out as just 2, with the number of goals averaged by The Hammers being 1.17. Going into this contest, West Ham United hasn't won away from home in the past eight matches in the league. Who knows how long it might last, too.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

West Ham is a quality team but among the biggest underachievers this season. Newcastle United is full of confidence, and we believe the points will stay at St. AJmes' Park on Saturday evening.

Goals Market Prediction

Their head-to-head clashes have been quite exciting recently, and both teams scored in five of the previous six encounters. Therefore, we don't think either team will keep a clean sheet in this match.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur is hoping to win again after their last result, the 3-0 FA Cup triumph versus Preston North End. The Spurs also returned to the winning track in the Premier League by beating Fulham in their most recent game. Taking their prior sextet of clashes before this one, in 5 of them, a wager on both teams scoring would have been a loser. While that may be of interest, it remains to be seen if such a trend might be replicated in this match. Going into this encounter, Tottenham Hotspur is without a home win in the past two games in the league. However, a tough challenge is ahead of them, and the hosts need to put another excellent display.

Manchester City will go into this clash following a 1-0 FA Cup win against Arsenal in their previous fixture. After the Gunners had a hiccup yesterday, the defending champions will be extra motivated to win this match. Pep Guardiola's Manchester City have fired home a total of 13 times throughout their previous six games. The total of goals scored against them during that period equals 6. Ahead of this clash, Manchester City is winless against Tottenham Hotspur in games played away from home for the previous three league matches. The Citizens want to extend their winning streak and reduce their distance from the Gunners.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

It is going to be an exciting clash, but we think the visitors are closer to victory. Therefore, Manchester City should return home with three important points in their pockets.

Goals Market Prediction

Their recent h2h matches were pretty exciting, and this one shouldn't be much different. We believe the crowd at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will enjoy seeing at least three goals in total.

Tottenham vs Manchester City

The Premier League throws up an intriguing clash on Sunday afternoon when a struggling Tottenham side, who could be without head coach Antonio Conte due to surgery, host an ever-dangerous Manchester City in a 4:30pm GMT kick-off from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. It’s been a tough start to 2023 for Conte’s side with Tottenham having lost 3 of their 5 league games played so far in this calendar year. One of those defeats was actually a 4-2 loss away to their opponents for this game and that only came a couple of weeks ago. Conte is a doubt to be on the sideline for Spurs for this game after he endured an operation to remove his gall bladder during the week.

The North Londoners are currently down in 5th place after winning just 2 of their last 6 league games. This drop in form has seen them go from title dark horses to a team that is now 4 points off the pace of the Champions League qualification places. It’s now 4 losses from their last 5 home league games but they will be looking to build on last week’s 1-0 win away to Fulham. The team have lost all 5 of their league matches played against teams placed higher than them in the table.

There is no denying that Manchester City have fallen short of their extremely high standards recently. The Citizens have dropped off the title challenge pace after dropping points in 3 of their last 7 league games. This has seen Arsenal move 5 points clear at the top of the league table. That gap could be reduced to just 2 points here after the Gunners suffered a shock 1-0 loss away to lowly Everton in their last outing.

City come into this game after back-to-back league wins with one of those being that home victory over Spurs. It’s also 3 wins from their last 4 away league matches so they know how to get the 3 points on their travels. Riyad Mahrez stands out as an anytime scorer pick having bagged 7 goals against Tottenham in the Premier League down the years. It’ll be interesting to see how Pep Guardiola sets his team up after the departure of Joao Cancelo to Bayern Munich on transfer deadline day. No doubt, Rico Lewis will be utilised but it’s a transfer that will certainly make City weaker and might negatively impact the mood of the dressing room.

These two sides met just a couple of weeks back and it was City who prevailed as superior winners. Not a lot has changed since then and, if anything, you’d have to argue that Tottenham haven’t really improved where as City look a lot more like their old selves now. The key factor here could be that Spurs have conceded the first goal in each of their last 5 home league games where as City have won 12 of the 16 league games where they have scored first. I’m expecting a City win and Tottenham’s troubles under Conte to continue.

West Ham vs Chelsea

West Ham United will play in this game after a 1-1 Premier League stalemate vs Newcastle United. The Hammers finally tied two matches without losing in the English top flight, which helped them stay above the red line. Their more recent scorelines highlight the fact that there has been much resilience in the West Ham United rearguard. West Ham United have been mean at the back, with the number of goals that have gone in at their end over the course of their previous six clashes standing at four. Coming into this contest, West Ham United hasn't won against Chelsea in their last two league matches. Regarding the selection issues, Gianluca Scamacca (Knee Injury), Kurt Zouma (Hamstring Injury), and Maxwel Cornet (Calf Injury) are unavailable for West Ham United boss David Moyes.

In their last fixture, Chelsea drew 0-0 in the Premier League tie with Fulham. It was their second draw in a row, holding them at 9th position. The strike force from Chelsea has suffered from a lack of goals over their previous six clashes, recording a disappointing return of just two. In those fixtures, The Blues have also seen the collective goal aggregate of their opponents equals by 7. Coming into this meeting, Chelsea has not won away from home in their last six matches in the league. Chelsea boss Graham Potter has some current player fitness concerns. Edouard Mendy (Shoulder Injury), Christian Pulisic (Knee Problems), Denis Zakaria (Hamstring Injury), N'Golo Kanté (Hamstring Injury), and Armando Broja (Cruciate Ligament Rupture) miss out here.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

It is going to be a tight clash that can easily go either way. Chelsea hasn't impressed recently, and we believe the home side can remain undefeated in this encounter.

Goals Market Prediction

Since both teams will go for a win, we anticipate an entertaining game on Saturday afternoon. That's why we believe neither side will be able to keep a clean sheet.

Leeds United vs Manchester United

Leeds United enters this match after a 2-2 Premier League drawn result against Manchester United. Although they had a two-goal lead, thanks to early scorers in each of the halves, Leeds managed to snatch only a point. It has been seldom in recent times that Leeds United has shown defensive steel. The facts show that Leeds United has been scored against in 5 of their previous six clashes, leaking eight goals on the way. Regarding absentees, there's just the sole fitness concern for the Leeds United boss Michael Skubala to be concerned with from a near full-strength squad. Stuart Dallas (Femoral Fracture) is out of contention.

The Red Devils had a hiccup on Wednesday, failing to align with Manchester City in the 2nd spot. Now, they will have another chance to record a victory against Leeds United. In a total of 5 out of the previous six games featuring Manchester United, at least three goals have been struck. The overall average number of goals per game within that spell is 3.5, with the average number of goals for Manchester United working out to 2.33. They haven't been beaten by Leeds United when they have played them away from home in the previous three matches in the league. Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has a number of players out of action. Scott McTominay (Unknown Injury), Christian Eriksen (Ankle Injury), and Donny van de Beek (Knee Injury) are names that won't be on the team sheet.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Manchester United pulled off a great comeback on Wednesday evening. They have a better momentum, and we expect them to return from Leeds with three points in their pockets.

Goals Market Prediction

It should be another entertaining match with at least three goals in total. Six of their previous seven h2h encounters went over a 2.5 margin, and this one shouldn't be much different.

Manchester City vs Aston Villa

Manchester City will be looking for an improved result here after a 1-0 Premier League loss in their previous game against Tottenham Hotspur. The defending champions missed the chance to get only two points behind Arsenal, and they cannot afford another disappointment. Pep Guardiola's Manchester City has hit the back of the net nine times in their preceding six outings. Conversely, the tally of goals they conceded in that time amounts to 7. City hasn't been too confident recently, and they should avoid spilling points again in order to stay in the title race.

Following on from suffering a loss in their previous game against Leicester City in Premier League competition, Aston Villa and their traveling fans will hope for a better result here. That defeat broke their two-game winning run, and another tough task is ahead of them. In their previous six outings, Aston Villa has amassed a tally of 9 goals. Aston Villa has also scored on each one of those occasions. During that period, they saw eight goals scored by their opponents. They have not won against Manchester City in games played away from home for the previous 12 league games. Very poor away form. Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has to choose from a squad with some fitness concerns. Lucas Digne (Shoulder Injury), Bertrand Traoré (Knee Injury), and Diego Carlos (Achilles tendon rupture) will not be playing here.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Although Aston Villa has been in decent form lately, Manchester City cannot afford another setback in the title race. Therefore, we believe the hosts will celebrate a comfortable win on Sunday evening.

Goals Market Prediction

Their head-to-head clashes, especially at Etihad Stadium, have been pretty entertaining over the past few years. Eleven of their last 12 encounters in Manchester produced at least three goals, and there's no reason this tradition will be stopped on Sunday.

Liverpool vs Everton

Liverpool will want a better result here after a 3-0 Premier League defeat last time out to Wolverhampton Wanderers. The reds booked only one point in the previous four rounds and slipped to 10th place. Liverpool has been quite ineffective in attack in more recent games. Their 'goals for' figure stands at just four versus opponents during their last six matches. In those games, Liverpool has also seen the number of goals against them total ten. The hosts need to bounce back immediately if they want to secure the continental qualification for the next season. Arthur Melo (Surgery), Virgil van Dijk (Hamstring Injury), Luis Díaz (Knee Injury), and Diogo Jota (Calf Injury) aren't available for Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp.

Everton will go into this encounter following on from a 1-0 Premier League win over Arsenal in their previous outing. They finally recorded a victory that could help them a lot in the battle for survival. Now, another tough task is ahead of them in the Merseyside derby. The stats tell the story, and Everton has been scored against in 5 of their last six games, with opponents netting 12 goals in total. At the back, Everton could really do with shoring things up. Coming into this contest, Everton had been without an away win for the past six matches in the league. Everton manager Sean Dyche has to choose from a squad that has some fitness concerns. Andy Lonergan (Knee Problems) and Andros Townsend (Cruciate Ligament Injury) are names that won't be on the team sheet.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Neither team can be proud of its recent results, but Everton managed to gain some confidence after beating the Gunners. Therefore, we think they might pose a solid resistance to Liverpool in the upcoming match.

Goals Market Prediction

Both teams struggled in front of the opponent’s net recently, and the pressure in this match might lead to a low-scoring game. That’s why we think this match will stay under a 2.5 margin.

eplodds.jpg

Apologies all, not sure what happened to the Premier League thread for this week. Thought I'd posted it up! Anyway, will get back to normal routine this week. Here are the odds for tonight's Merseyside derby. This is actually looking like a tasty one now with Liverpool rocking and Everton resurging. Those odds on Everton getting something from this game are too good to ignore, right?
