Sentry Tournament

I love this first tournament of the year and it produces some great betting as you dont know who is on form after the short break

One of the more easier courses to get us underway. Cam Smith won this last year with a -34 score. Beating Rahm by one shot. Costal Par 73 course with no water hazards to worry about. Whislt length isn't everything (apparently ) there are a good half of the par 4s that are very much getable.. Large greens here too and so you'll want to be able to putt as a main attribute around Kapalua.

Schauffele  11/1 - plays well in windy conditions.

Spieth 25/1 - Some nice course form. 

Im   18/1 - still improving, has some great performances in 2022.

Wise 33/1 -  improved since switching to the bigger putter, won in Hawaii in college days.

KH Lee 70/1 - improving form last season.

I think weather conditions look alright. I suppose you're always going to get abit of wind coastal but doesn't look too blustery. Good luck everybody with your bets.

Schauffelle withdraws, tbf never happened before to me.

Also Hovland having an absolute mare.

Thomas recovered a bit and scheffler going well.

Would be my luck morikawa doing it after constantly going on about him and backing without success,  but feel he'll fall away.

I dunno, I think Morikawa looks so strong in this event. I thought Rahm would keep it going today but he's had a dodgy start.

Morikawa was strongly mentioned but not tipped up in both the Sporting Life and Racing Post preview writeups. Both articles pointing towards his Hawaiian heritage and playing the course as a youngster.

One thing is for sure, at 16 under after two rounds play this is going to be around a 30 under and better score to win the tournament.

All still to play for and plenty still in contention on here, so fingers crossed 🤞

Morikawa running away with it. Can't see him being caught now. Hoping that Kim keeps pace tomorrow for a placing atleast.

Morikawa definitely a hard player for punters to judge I find.

If you observe his career wins on OWGR for example most of his wins come after finishing really average last time out.

This performance at Sentry kind of bucks that trend as he finished 6th last time out. Though does it? As this 6th place is slightly over flattering as it was only in a 20 player small field tournament.

As you can see from my ramblings above lol, a very difficult one to judge right young Mr Morikawa.

Who would have thought that there would be a 10 shot swing and Morikawa would have a par round. Got to be classed as a choke from Morikawa really. Especially those 3 in a row he bogeyd on 14/15/16th.

Definitely. And the funny thing is, I always had him down as a cool ruthless closer of a deal when in the lead of a tournament. Just goes to show, even the best of players are human after all.

Yeah, me too, to be fair. I never would have had him choking like that. The Sony this week has alot of similarities to this course and so perhaps he can go again this week.

Wow Morikawa, lol, what a howler at the end.

Well done on Rahm, he's been better of late and wonder if he'll be looking at that green jacket again this year, just don't like his odds which are so stingy.
