Newcastle vs Chelsea

The big game in the final round of Premier League matches before the 2022 World Cup kicks off next week is between Newcastle and Chelsea in a 5:30pm GMT kick-off on Saturday afternoon from St James' Park. Quite a few people backed the home team to start putting pressure on the "established top six" this season but not many thought we'd get to this fixture and they'd be considered slight favourites to win this one and in better form than their opponents.

Newcastle are loving life right now with the team in 3rd place and just 7 points off the league title pace. Eddie Howe has just been awarded the Premier League Manager of the Month for October though so that's their good form down the pan! :lol The Magpies are now unbeaten in their last 9 league games including winning their last 4 league matches in a row. It's also the first time in 27 years that the club have remained unbeaten over their first 7 Premier League home games. It's also the first time since 2001/02 that Newcastle will be positioned in the top four of the table by Christmas time. The form Newcastle are displaying under Howe is incredible but they do have to deal with the possible absence of in-form striker Callum Wilson through illness. However, Miguel Almiron has bagged 7 goals in his last 7 appearances for the club and won the Premier League Player of the Month award for October so they have no shortage of scoring threats.

Chelsea had looked like they were hitting the ground running under Graham Potter but it's all started to go a little bit wonky for the Blues. The team are now without a win in their previous 4 league games leaving the team down in 7th position and 5 points off the pace of the Champions League qualification spots. It's only been the fact that Potter has helped guide them into the last 16 of the Champions League that has added a silver lining to their recent form but league form is a concern. The continued absence of N'Golo Kante is an issue for the London club and it'll be interesting to see what movements Potter makes in the January transfer window after the World Cup. There is a risk that Chelsea could lose three games in a row across all competitions for the first time since 2006. It could also be the first time they go five league games without a win since 2012. Is there an unlikely hero in the midst though? Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored 5 goals in his last 5 league games against Newcastle.

It's fair to say that Chelsea have dominated this head-to-head over recent times having won 11 of the last 14 encounters across all competitions. This included winning both league matches last season without conceding a goal. I'm expecting Newcastle to be a different proposition this season and if there's one team an out-of-form side with a new manager, like Chelsea, don't want to play then it's an organised and relentless club like Newcastle. I think it's worth backing the home team to win this one.

Wolves vs Arsenal

The final game from the Premier League schedule on Saturday is the 7:45pm GMT start between relegation battlers Wolves and league leaders Arsenal from Molineux. It goes without saying that the away team head into this game as the firm favourites but is this match already done and dusted? Or will we see an upset with the home side springing a surprise and taking all 3 points?

Wolves sit low down in 19th position in the top flight of English football. The club confirmed the appointment of former Real Madrid and Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui as their next gaffer but he's not set to take over until after this next match. Wanderers are without a win in their previous 4 league games and that spell includes 3 defeats with 10 goals conceded. The club have only picked up 2 wins in their last 21 league games and those both came at home against the two other clubs that currently occupy the other relegation spaces coming into this round of games in Nottingham Forest and Southampton. Caretaker head coach Steve Davis is set to take charge for the final time here but the team have lost 4 of the 6 games he's managed. Having just scored 8 goals in the league this season, Wolves are the lowest scorers in the top division.

Arsenal are experiencing a contrast of emotions to their opponents for this game. The Gunners are sitting 2 points clear at the summit of the Premier League and have only suffered 1 loss in their 13 league games including 11 victories. Mikel Arteta's side are still not really being taken seriously as potential title contenders with many saying they will inevitably fall off the pace and see Manchester City leapfrog them. Well, we're a third of the way through the season now and they are still top of the table. A win here would mean Arsenal are top of the Premier League at Christmas for the first time since 2007. Unlike Wolves, Arsenal are having no problems scoring this season having hit 31 league goals and having scored in every league game this season. The Londoners also boast the best defensive record in the division and have kept 5 clean sheets in their 7 away league matches played.

It's no surprise that the sensible money will probably be with Arsenal to win this. Wolves feel a little rudderless without a permanent manager in control at the moment but surely Lopetegui is already making movements behind the scenes in preparation for arriving at the club next week. Arsenal are superb this season though and their away form is so business-like. I wouldn't be surprised to see another Arsenal win with a clean sheet here.

Manchester City vs Brentford

Manchester City is hoping to win again following the 2-1 Premier League victory vs Fulham. It was their third straight win in the English top flight before beating Chelsea in the EFL Cup during mid-week. Their most recent results really do illustrate the point that much respect should be given to the Manchester City defense. The Citizens have given the opposition little, resulting in the number of goals that have gone past their goalkeeper during their last six outings standing at 4. Another victory would see the defending champions climb to the top spot, at least before Arsenal plays its game against Wolves.

Brentford drew 2-2 in the Premier League match with Nottingham Forest in their previous game. The Bees currently sit in the middle of the table, but they are not too far from the relegation zone. Thomas Frank's Brentford has slotted home six times throughout their most recent six matches. The overall goals that have been scored against them during those same matches add up to 12. Coming into this meeting, Brentford has not won away from home in their last four games in the league. In an otherwise healthy group of players, there is only the sole fitness worry for the Brentford boss Thomas Frank to be concerned with. Aaron Hickey (Ankle Injury) misses out for this game.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Manchester City is full of confidence, and the defending champions should have rested their main players. Although Brentford is a team with the highest number of draws in the Premier League, we don’t think they will hold the Citizens. The hosts should celebrate a comfortable win on Saturday afternoon.

Goals Market Prediction

Both teams have participated in many high-scoring matches this season, and that trend should continue. Brentford has been quite productive so far, and we won’t be surprised if they find a way to the opponent’s net.

Manchester City AH -1.5 @  1.45

BTTS Yes @ 2.10

Correct score 4:1 @ 15.00

Newcastle United vs Chelsea

Newcastle United is hoping to win again following a 4-1 Premier League success versus Southampton. It was their fifth straight success that launched them to 3rd place. The Magpies' most recent results shine a light on the fact that much respect should be given to the Newcastle United rearguard. Newcastle United have been miserly, with the number of goals that have gone past their goalkeeper during their past six clashes standing at 3. The hosts are full of confidence, and they want to secure another positive result against a very strong opponent.

After a losing effort in their last game against Arsenal in Premier League action, Chelsea and their fans will hope to get a better result this time. The Blues cannot be happy with their recent form, as they lost to Manchester City in the EL Cup during mid-week. The stats tell the story, and Chelsea has been scored against in 5 of their last six matches, seeing their opponents hit eight goals in total. At the back, Chelsea has clearly had some problems. Chelsea manager Graham Potter has some current player fitness concerns. N'Golo Kanté (Hamstring Injury), Wesley Fofana (Knee Injury), Ben Chilwell (Hamstring Injury), and Reece James (Knee Injury) will miss out on this game.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Newcastle United has been playing much better than their opponents recently, and they want to capitalize on the opponent’s poor form. It should be a terrific match, and we think the hosts can remain undefeated.

Goals Market Prediction

It should be an entertaining clash since Chelsea need to go for some points, too. Therefore, we believe the crowd at St. James’ Park will enjoy at least three goals in total.

Fulham vs Manchester United

The Cottagers have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team beating Leeds United on the road, sharing the spoils with Everton while suffering an unlucky loss to ten-man Man City at the weekend. They are among the biggest overachievers this season, sitting in 9th place. Fulham has played 11 home games in the Premier League, failing to keep a clean sheet in any of these fixtures, but the strugglers have at least scored at the other end in six of the last eight. The good news for the hosts is that top scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic is back from a minor injury, and we are positive that the Serbian striker will make life difficult for the opposition back-line. We will see if the Cottagers can secure a positive result against the red side of Manchester.

The Red Devils, on the other hand, aim to bounce back from a 3-1 loss to Aston Villa but seeing that Fulham is tough to beat in London, the share of spoils is on the horizon. The latest defeat brought Man Utd's nine-game unbeatable run in all competitions. As for the away team, all Dalot, Varane, and Williams miss out with injuries, but both Sancho and Antony should recover in time to face the Cottagers. As for Manchester Utd, the net has bulged at both ends in seven of their last 11 away matches at the top table of the Fulham, and they rarely keep clean sheets on the road. Success in London should see the Red Devils remaining competitive for the top-four finish.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

It is going to be an interesting game that can easily go either way. Nevertheless, we expect Manchester United to bounce back and celebrate an important victory.

Goals Market Prediction

Matches at Craven Cottage have been pretty exciting so far in the season, and we expect another one on Sunday evening. Therefore, neither team should keep a clean sheet.
