NFL Week 8 Predictions

The underdog continues to win this season. In matches where the underdog gets more than three points the record is 44-22 ATS. This week this will change, I have chosen nine favourites and one underdog.

(1) 49ers to win ATS -1.5 points @ 10/11

The 49ers seem to own the Rams in the regular season, winning the last four on the road in LA. Jimmy Garoppolo is 7-0 straight up against the Rams.

(2) Dolphins to win ATS -3.5 points @ 10/11

The Dolphins are much better at home. However they should beat the Lions who have scored six total points combined in their last two games.

(3) Titans to win ATS -2.5 points @ 10/11

Mike Vrabel and Tannehill are 15-3 SU, 12-6 ATS as a duo vs. AFC South. My faith in Derrick Henry will be restored.

(4) Patriots to win ATS @ -2.5 points @ 10/11

The Patriots have beaten the Jets 12 times in a row dating back to 2015 (8-4 ATS). With injuries to the Jets star rookies, the pressure on Zach Wilson to perform will be huge.

 (5) Seahawks to win ATS -3.0 points @ 10/11

How long can the Giants keep winning? This could be the week their run comes to an end. Home advantage should prevail.

(6) Colts to win ATS -3.0 points @ 20/21

The Colts will be starting Sam Ehlinger at QB, I am hoping he is more mobile than Matt Ryan.

(7) Bengals to win ATS -3.5 points @ 10/11

Burrow is 12-2 ATS in his last 14 starts. Long may it continue.

(8) Eagles to win ATS -10.5 points @ 10/11

Undefeated teams straight up on a bye are 27-14 SU and 26-15 ATS over the last 20 years. When those teams are at home, they are 15-1 SU and 14-2 ATS. History says Eagles.

(9) Cowboys to win ATS – 9.5 points @ 10/11

Since the start of last season, the Cowboys (18-7 ATS) are the most profitable team against the spread. Dak Prescott when he listed above a TD favourite is 8-1 straight up and 7-2 ATS.

(10) Cardinals to win ATS +3.5 points @ 10/11

Since 2010, the Vikings are 3-10 ATS off a bye week. Kyler Murray as an underdog is 19-10-2 ATS.

Play away at the Houston Texans. I just do not rate The Texans this season at all.

Pittsburgh Steelers 5.00

Probably slightly bonkers opposing The Eagles, though I just feel the odds are too over the top for The Eagles.

New York Giants 2.45

Likewise, I feel the odds are under rating The Giants chances, they have a similar season record to The Eagles yet one is massive favourite, the other an underdog.

Buy Harrison Bryant TD minutes at 8 with SPIN

I read that, with Njoku out, he may be the leading TE for Cleveland. I'd equate the price to about 4/1 anytime which is better than you'd be able to get. Happy to chance a small bet that he's been slightly underrated this week.

2 odds on shots tonight in Chubb and Mixon; I'll see if I can get odds against on the exchange (my absolute minimum prices would be 1.9 and 2.01 respectively).

Also seeing if I can get bigger prices on Hunt, Higgins and Cooper.

NFL Week 8 Results

After a disappointing start to the 2022 season, the football gods took pity on me. A full house W5 L0 from my first set of selections yielded a nice profit of 365.70 points and this has resulted in me showing a profit to-date.

Week 8 Record W7 L3 - 45 points staked, 395.70 returned for a weekly profit of 350.70 points.

The YTD record is now: Total selections 80 – W33 D3 L44 staked 360.00 returned 443.82 for an overall profit of 83.82 points.

 (1) 49ers to win ATS -1.5 points @ 10/11 - Won = 49ers too good for Rams 31-14

The 49ers seem to own the Rams in the regular season, winning the last four on the road in LA. Rams owned.

(2) Dolphins to win ATS -3.5 points @ 10/11 - Won = Dolphins just 31-27

They should beat the Lions who have scored six total points combined in their last two games. Dolphins were 14-0 down but still came back to win. Lions could not score in the second half.

(3) Titans to win ATS -2.5 points @ 10/11 - Won = Titans won 17-10

My faith in Derrick Henry will be restored. Derrick Henry ran wild 219 yards and two touchdowns.

(4) Patriots to win ATS @ -2.5 points @ 10/11 - Won = Patriots win 22-17

The Patriots have beaten the Jets 12 times in a row dating back to 2015. Make that 13.

 (5) Seahawks to win ATS -3.0 points @ 10/11 - Won = Seattle win 27-13

How long can the Giants keep winning? This could be the week their run comes to an end. Home advantage should prevail. It did.

(6) Colts to win ATS -3.0 points @ 20/21 - Lost = Washington pull off the win in the final minutes scoring 10 points to win 17-16.

The Colts will be starting Sam Ehlinger at QB, I am hoping he is more mobile than Matt Ryan. Ehlinger 201 yards, zero touchdowns but he also made one huge mistake when he lost a fumble in the red zone.

(7) Bengals to win ATS -3.5 points @ 10/11- Lost = Bengals did not show up losing 32-13 to the Browns.

Burrow is 12-2 ATS in his last 14 starts. Long may it continue. This game was a complete disaster for the Bengals.

(8) Eagles to win ATS -10.5 points @ 10/11- Won = Eagles win 35-13

Undefeated teams straight up on a bye are 27-14 SU and 26-15 ATS over the last 20 years. When those teams are at home, they are 15-1 SU and 14-2 ATS. History says Eagles. History was right.

(9) Cowboys to win ATS – 9.5 points @ 10/11- Won = Cowboys win 49-29 against the Bears

Since the start of last season, the Cowboys (18-7 ATS) are the most profitable team against the spread. This was another win for the Cowboys.

(10) Cardinals to win ATS +3.5 points @ 10/11- Lost = Vikings won 34-26

Since 2010, the Vikings are 3-10 ATS off a bye week. Kyler Murray as an underdog is 19-10-2 ATS. The Cardinals were always playing catch u in this game. The one handed catch from DeAndre Hopkins was the best TD all season. Brilliant!
