Lazio vs Inter

Lazio were the favorites to take home all 3pts from their trip to Torino last time out, but the game proved much tighter than anyone expected. Both defenses came out on top during the 90-minutes, keeping clean sheets, and the frustration was clear to see on the Lazio players' faces as Immobile, Milinkovic-Savic, and Lazzari were all booked deep into time added on. Juventus vs Roma

Italian champions continuously from 2012 to 2020, Juventus have been much less to their advantage for two seasons. Last year, the Old Lady had to settle for 4th place but still preserved the essentials by winning the previous qualifying jump seat for the Champions League. During the preparation, the Bianconeri did not really shine, with one win, one draw, and two defeats. On the other hand, they did not miss their start to the championship by quite clearly dominating Sassuolo at home on the 1st day, 3-0. Last Monday, Juve lost points at Sampdoria 0-0. Therefore, they look forward to improving their game and securing another home victory.

Roma missed out on qualifying for the Champions League again last season. For the first season on the bench of Jose Mourinho, the Eternal City club still stood out by winning the very first edition of the Europa League Conference. After an encouraging preparation of 4 wins, one draw, and two losses, the Giallorossi won their first two league matches. Although unconvincing in the game, they bagged two wins against Salernitana 0-1 and against promoted Cremonese last Monday 1-0. I Giallorossi have been unlucky since a couple of players are sidelined due to injuries, but they are confident to continue their winning streak.

Fiorentina vs Napoli

Fiorentina play host to Napoli at their Stadio Artemio Franchi on day 3 of the new Serie A campaign. The Viola failed to turn their dominance into victory in a goalless draw with their local rivals Empoli, and it is no wonder they are seen as underdogs in Sunday’s showdown. Despite failing to impress in the Tuscan derby, summer signing Luka Jovic should continue to lead the line for the hosts, while both Gaetano Castrovilli and Igor are out of contention with injuries. Fiorentina wants to be involved in the continental spots battle this season, and they look forward to continuing with good displays.

On the other hand, the Neapolitans aim to build on back-to-back wins over Verona and Monza. The away team scored for fun at the start of the season and given that Fiorentina had anything but a good performance against Empoli, an away win should be considered. They enjoyed a great start last season as well but couldn’t challenge for the title. This time, they want it to be different. Thanks to a mostly healthy squad, Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti has only one fitness concern to worry about. Diego Deme (foot injury) will not be in action.
