StevieDay1983
It's the Championship Play-Off Final to bring the curtain down on the 2021/22 season and it's between Huddersfield and Nottingham Forest. A game between two clubs that are supported by two members of this forum who have contributed greatly to this place down the years. @Kenton Schweppes versus @yossa6133! Best of luck both! Keen to hear your thoughts leading up to the game! renton
StefanBB
Huddersfield Town vs Nottingham Forest Huddersfield Town will hope to repeat their last result after the 1:0 success in the playoffs against Luton Town. The Terriers finished third in the regular season, being six points behind the second-placed Bournemouth. They managed to eliminate Luton Town in the semi-finals with a 2:1 aggregate win. Their most recent results show that quality has been evident in the Huddersfield Town defense. Huddersfield Town has been miserly, with the total number of goals that have flown into the back of their net during their past six matches standing at 3. The Huddersfield manager Carlos Corberán doesn’t have any fitness concerns at all before this clash with a fully injury-free squad ready to go. Since a loss in their previous game against Sheffield United in the Championship Play-offs competition, Nottingham Forest and their fans will hope to get a better result this time. Nevertheless, the Reds booked their ticket for Wembley after eliminating Sheffield United after the penalty shootout. Previously, they finished the regular season in 4th place, being two points behind their upcoming rivals. The numbers tell their own story, and Nottingham Forest has been scored against in 5 of their last six matches, conceding six goals overall. At the back, Nottingham Forest has been far from perfect. In an otherwise healthy group, there’s only the sole fitness issue for the Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper to be concerned about. Lewis Grabban (Hamstring Injury) won’t be playing here. Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction This is going to be a very tight match, and both teams will search for their chance to get promoted. However, we think Nottingham Forrest is closer to success, and they should return to the Premier League after more than two decades. Goals Market Prediction The stake is very high in this game, and both teams should approach cautiously to it. Therefore, we don’t expect to see too many goals in this encounter, and there shouldn’t be more than two in total in 90 minutes. StevieDay1983
Huddersfield vs Nottingham Forest The 2021/22 Championship Play-Off Final is here and it will see Huddersfield and Nottingham Forest go head-to-head in a 4:30pm BST kick-off from Wembley Stadium in what is widely regarded as "the richest game in football" with the winners potentially earning £100 million as well as a place in next season's Premier League. Who will prevail victorious in this hotly anticipated clash? Huddersfield fans will be pinching themselves that they have reached this stage of the season after narrowly avoiding relegation last year. It's a huge testament to the approach that head coach Carlos Corberan has instilled at the club. The former Leeds coach could make history here by becoming the first Spaniard to lead a club to promotion to the Premier League via the second tier play-offs. The Terriers finished 3rd in the league table and just 6 points off the pace of automatic promotion. The team is now unbeaten in 9 matches after their 2-1 aggregate win over Luton in the semi-final phase. Huddersfield come into this final with a very decent record in previous finals. The club have won 4 of their last 5 play-off final appearances. Only Blackpool have been more successful in the play-offs down the years. Nottingham Forest could not have imagined that they would be playing in this showpiece game when Steve Cooper arrived as head coach with the team rock bottom of the Championship. The Tricky Trees have gone on an unbelievable run that saw them finish 4th in the table and just 8 points off the top two automatic promotion spots. A dramatic semi-final tie with Sheffield United saw the teams require penalties with Forest coming out as 3-2 winners after a 3-3 draw on aggregate. This is the first time in their history that Forest have reached a play-off final having been knocked out in each of their last four semi-final matches. This will be Cooper's third consecutive involvement in the Championship play-offs having suffered defeat in the semi-finals to Brentford in 2019/20 and then in the final to Brentford again in 2020/21. Can he go one better here now he no longer has to face Brentford? The Pontypridd-born man does boast a win ratio of 59% which is the best record of any Forest manager during their league history. This game will see a meeting of styles as the progressive approach of Huddersfield will go up against the possession-based philosophy of Nottingham Forest. Three of the last four play-off finals that Huddersfield have been involved in have gone all the way to penalties and I wouldn't be against backing that to happen again. Both teams have goals in them and if both sides play with confidence in their own game then we could see a cracking match. It does feel like fate is favouring Forest after their turnaround this season but you simply cannot write this Huddersfield team off with their never say die attitude. yossa6133
I'd fancy us to win, but we have underperformed in some big games. Gone for small bets on Davis and Johnson to score first.
