The final of the UEFA Europa League is going to be held at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on Wednesday night.

Eintracht Frankfurt
As they rank eleventh in the table of Bundesliga this season, winning the championship of the Europa League is the final chance for them to play in European games next season. Undoubtedly they will seize the opportunity. But they just play a high-intensive game five days ago. They are not in good condition.

Glasgow Rangers
They rotate their key players and make preparation for the final. Their lineup in the last game is substitutes players except for Aaron Ramsey while he is off the game after the 60th minute. It has been thirteen years since the last time they play in the Europa League. Undoubtedly they emphasize that.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Rangers

The 2021/22 Europa League Final is coming up on Wednesday night at 8pm BST when Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt play Scottish Premiership side Rangers at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan in Seville. These two teams were probably not amongst those sides many tipped to reach the final so it'll be a fascinating game with a big opportunity for both clubs to make some new history.

Eintracht Frankfurt may well have experienced a mediocre league campaign this season with the club finishing in 11th position in the Bundesliga but it'll certainly be a season they remember. Head coach Oliver Glasner has performed a miracle getting the team to this final. Die Adler topped a group phase that included Olympiakos, Fenerbahce, and Royal Antwerp before eliminating Real Betis, Barcelona, and West Ham in the knockout rounds. The team has remained unbeaten right through this competition this season. It will be the third time that Eintracht have reached a major European cup final having lost to Real Madrid in the European Cup back in 1960 but beating fellow German side Borussia Monchengladbach in the 1980 UEFA Cup Final.

Rangers will be contesting their first major European cup final since their appearance in the 2008 UEFA Cup Final when they suffered defeat to Zenit St Petersburg. Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men began their European journey under former head coach Steven Gerrard in the Champions League qualifiers where they suffered a disappointing loss to Swedish club Malmo. The team then beat Alashkert to reach the Europa League group stage where they finished 2nd behind Lyon but ahead of Sparta Prague and Brondby. During the knockout stages, Rangers have eliminated Borussia Dortmund, Red Star Belgrade, Braga, and RB Leipzig. There is a bad omen for the team with the club having won just 1 of their 14 games played in Spain down the years. The last time a Scottish club played in a European cup final hosted by Seville was in 2003 when Porto beat Celtic at the Estadio La Cartuja.

These two sides have crossed paths before in European competition having met in the 1960 European Cup Semi-Finals. On that occasion, it was Eintracht Frankfurt who beat Rangers by a 12-4 score on aggregate. I am quite frankly amazed that Rangers have reached this final and the fact they have lost their last 3 away games but won their last 3 home matches shows how they've relied on the home support. I'm not sure they'll have enough to beat Eintracht here without the partisan home fans in a majority.
