DarrenTse
Preston North End vs Sheffield United Jan 18 2022, 15:45 Preston North End Preston North End prepare for this game following on from a 1-1 Championship drawn result versus Birmingham City. It has been seldom in recent times that Preston North End have kept a clean sheet. The facts show that Preston North End have been scored against in 6 of their previous 6 matches, letting in 7 goals during that time. Sheffield United Since suffering a loss in their previous game against Derby County in Championship action, Sheffield United and their fans will hope to get a better result this time. The trend of at least one team drawing a blank in games involving Sheffield United has been noticeable of late. Checking on their last six outings shows that it’s happened 5 times. During those clashes, opposing sides have hit a goal tally of 7 while Sheffield United have scored 7. That trend won’t necessarily be continued into this match, though. Coming into this clash, Sheffield United have not been beaten in their last 3 away league matches. Verdict: Looking at these two, we feel that Sheffield United and Preston North End should both get enough opportunities to score, although it’s hard to separate the two. It could well end in a draw. We’re therefore tipping a very close game with a 1-1 scoreline at the end of the 90. StevieDay1983
Bristol City vs Cardiff It's the big one at 12:30pm GMT on Saturday in the Championship when Bristol City host Cardiff in the Severnside Derby at Ashton Gate. Both of these two teams find themselves battling at the wrong end of the table but with the hosts destroying their opponents earlier in the season and also 7 points better off in the league table the pressure is certainly more on the visiting team. Bristol City continue to tread water in the second tier of English football. They are one of a few rare clubs who have the potential to become a Premier League team but are still yet to reach the promised land since it was re-branded back in 1992/93. Nigel Pearson remains the man at the helm and it has to be said that unless the board begin to see real progress happening soon there will be questions over whether he's the right man for the job if the owners wish to show any sort of ambition. The Robins are 16th in the table and have lost 3 of their last 4 league matches. That includes their most recent result that was a humiliating 6-2 loss away to a rampant Fulham. The defence has really fallen on its arse over recent weeks with the club conceding 15 goals in their last 5 league matches. Cardiff know that this season could be crucial to influencing how the club navigates the next 10 years. Survival in this division will give Steve Morison and the owners a chance to rebuild the club from the ground up. A number of players including Joe Ralls, Sean Morrison, Aden Flint, Ciaron Brown, Will Vaulks, Alex Smithies, and Marlon Pack are set to have their contracts expire in the summer. Rumours are that out of those players Ralls is the only one set to be offered a new deal and even that will be on heavily reduced money. It could save the club £150k per week on wages giving Morison a chance to bring in his own players that suit his more progressive style of play. He's already shown intent to try and push this philosophy now by recalling Ryan Wintle from his loan at Blackpool and loaning in the duo of Leeds full back Cody Drameh and Manchester City central midfielder Tommy Doyle. It's all encouraging stuff but he is trying to turn around an oil tanker here. In the case of our older players, that is certainly the case! Results and performances have been inconsistent but it's clear to see what he's trying to do and it's pleasing the majority of fans. It is 5 league games without a win though but we have lost just 1 of our last 6 on the road. It's not surprising to see the bookies undecided on who to make favourites for this one. Bristol City look a mess at the moment and Pearson has a track record of losing his head when things don't go his way. Is this the start of their inevitable slide towards a relegation dogfight? Cardiff are in the thick of it right now but if the additions of Drameh and Doyle can come off and Wintle can continue his impressive form from Blackpool then there's a chance. I was tempted to back Cardiff to grab a win here but I think a draw is more likely. DarrenTse
Queens Park Rangers (QPR) vs Swansea City Jan 25 2022, 15:45 Queens Park Rangers (QPR) QPR have won four consecutive games after a 1-2 away victory over Coventry last time out and have scored two or more goals during that time. In the past three months, the team have lost only two games, one of which is against second-placed Bournemouth - currently two points behind the latter in the table. Swansea City Swansea beat Preston North End 1-0 at home last time out. Russell Martins side have won only one of the past five league games, suffered three losses in the process. Swansea have won away games only twice since August 2021 - currently rank 17th with 31 points from 24 games this season. Prediction Swansea are fully capable of achieving positive results on Tuesday. But considering their recent state, it is difficult to surpass QPR. We expect the host to get another three points on the board of directors to improve their promotion hope. 1X2 Pick: 1 Final Result: 1-0, 2-
DarrenTse
Nottingham Forest vs Barnsley Jan 25 2022, 15:45 Nottingham Forest Nottingham beat Derby County 2-1 at home last time out. They have won three consecutive games and won six of the past eight games - having been unbeaten in 18 of the past 21 games. Also the team have won four of the past five games and have lost only once at home since October. Nottingham are eighth in the table and need four more points to equal sixth-placed Huddersfield. Barnsley Barnsley suffered an embarrassing record of nine winless league games after losing 2-1 away to Birmingham in the past week. Barnsley were the absolute worst team this season for the bottom position of the table, even lower than the Derby. Barnsley are also the only team that have not won away so far. Prediction Although Barnsley have shown combat effectiveness in some recent games, they are still not confident to go beyond the limits, especially against a better team. With this in mind, I support Forests relatively easy victory. 1X2 Pick: 1 Final Result: 2-0, 3-
yossa6133
Middlesbrough to beat Blackburn 23/12 (SBK). Blackburn have gone off the boil in the last few games and are without their goal scorer Ben Brereton Diaz, while Middlesbrough have been in great form since Wilder took over.
