I hate these early starts to racing: Here is a quick Trixie.  I will be looking at Ascot soon.  I don't think I will attempt a Trixie there as it all looks a bit trappy.  Instead, I will look for some types of so-called value bets

My Trixie today is:

11.40 Uttx Eureka Creek 6/4                  (Gazette Bourgeois is all the rage and appears to be a big danger)

1.25 Utts Will Sting 4/1                         ( French Du Large is the pundits favourite but looks uneasy in the betting)

1.35 Sou Cloud Thunder 6/4                 ( Once again the big boys are promoting another horse called Author's Dream but Cloud Thunder looks solid)

1 x 4 point win Trixie = poss return of 62.50 points

Back in a bit with the Ascot selections

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, Eureka Creek ran a stinker

1.10 Asc Soldier Of Destiny 1 pt win at 6/1

1.45 asc Karl Philippe 2 pts win at 6.6 (should be 1 - 1.5 pts but couldn't resist the Exchange price))

2.20 asc Colonel Mustard 1 pt win at 8/1

3.30 Asc Authority speed 1 pt win at 9/2; saver bet of 0.5 pts at 2/1 on Top Dog

1.25 Uttx Will Sting 1 pt win at 4/1 to try and rescue stakes on my Trixie

= Total stakes of 10.5 points

The 6.15 at Kempton looks interesting; there is good money for Animal Instinct at a best price of 3/1 but the favourite Uzincso is well supported at a best price of 2/1.  Not much wiggle room to make a profit so I think I'll leave the race alone.

Good luck to all intrepid punters taking a hand today at the races

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Terrible day so far

3.30 Asc Top Dog 4 points win at 5/2 to try and rescue the day

After a little silly bet yesterday on Chelsea decided against anfew bets today.

Was going to go for 1345 moneyback offer, was going with Amarillo Sky, didnt fancy the favourite one bit, so no loss as came second.

Have a small bet on jonbon, although actually had a free knappers hill bet so if either win, its at worst a very smal. Profit.

RESULTS UPDATE

A complete blank today for my published bets.  I decided to play the 6.15 at Kempton (mentioned above) putting 6 points on Animal Instinct and 4 points on the favourite.  Animal Instinct obliged and I almost got out at B/E = a 0.78 pts loss.  However, I didn't have time to post this up so a loss of 14.5 points goes on record.  This makes my cumulative profit now + 52.43 points fro December and a YTD loss of -180.74.  It is very annoying to see the big named trainers win and not be on.  I think I will stick with these at the big meetings where other right conditions seem to exist.

Loads of class action tomorrow at Ascot and Haydock.  There are also high class races at Lingfield too.  Contrast this with just one class 3 event at Fakenham on Sunday.  I wish they would spread it out more evenly.
