Cardiff vs Huddersfield

Is this the day? Is this the day that Cardiff end their run without a win? It's Huddersfield up next for the Welsh side in a 3pm GMT kick-off at the Cardiff City Stadium in their latest Championship fixture. The wait went on during midweek but there is certainly a feeling that things are improving and slowly we are looking more like a team that actually has a sense of direction now.

Cardiff suffered yet another game without a win in midweek to extend that spell to 10 league games now. The difference this time being that the signs are there that the players are now trying to do the right thing. We were unfortunate that QPR had a goal that was on the borderline of being offside and we just couldn't claw that back. Steve Morison is doing what all our fans have felt we should be doing. The significant change in mentality from a direct approach to a more passing style will take time. The Bluebirds have lost their last 7 home league games though so the fans deserve something to cheer with the club down in 21st place and just 1 point above the relegation zone.

Huddersfield continue to impress this season with head coach Carlos Corberan leading his team to 7th in the table and only outside the play-off places due to an inferior goal difference. The Terriers have started to develop some inconsistency in their form with just 1 win from their last 4 league games but the difference this season is that Corberan has turned them into a more resolute unit. The team is now grinding out the draws when they might not have pulled that off last season. Our resident Huddersfield fan @Kenton Schweppes will know far more than me but it's great to see. Away form is an issue though with Huddersfield without a win in their last 4 away league games.

This will be an interesting game. I have a feeling both teams will go at it. Cardiff are growing in confidence with every game under Morison and Huddersfield will come here feeling this is a game they can win and improve their dismal away record. I'm actually going to back Cardiff to finally get a win. I think the home crowd will help. Huddersfield also have an awful record against Cardiff with Cardiff going unbeaten in the last 15 meetings. Cardiff have also kept 10 clean sheets during those games and won 3 of the previous 4 meetings. Yes, as a blinkered Cardiff fan, I'm backing the home win!
