Southampton VS Aston Villa

Kick Off: 11/05/2021 16:00

Southampton

Since the victory over Leeds United half a month ago and got the first win of the season, the saints who regained their self-confidence have recently had a good performance. They have not only been unbeaten for several consecutive games, but also had a fierce battle to a penalty shoot out in the EFL with Chelsea, which almost led to a surprise. In the Premier League game last weekend, they won Watford 1-0 away. According to the data, the saints scored goals in the last five matches and two of them without concede, whose state seems to have improved greatly.

Aston Villa

The overall combat effectiveness of Aston Villa has been significantly weakened compared with that of last season due to the loss of the core Grealish this season. Although the team has introduced strong players such as Ashley Young, Tuanzebe and Ings to make up for the lineup, the effect is not very ideal at present. Especially recently, the team have suffered a wave of four consecutive defeats. The last round was also slaughtered by West Ham United 1-4 at home, and the central defender Konsa received the red card. It is afraid that Villa's morale has been greatly eroded.

Prediction

In terms of state, Villa is currently at the lowest point, while Southampton has gradually come out of the trouble. The saints naturally have more confidence to win this encounter for the advantage of home. At the same time, Southampton's record in the historical battle with Villa is also dominant. They have only lost once against Willa over the year. So Southampton is still trustworthy in this battle.

Southampton vs Aston Villa

After a very poor start of the season, the hosts managed to improve their game in the past few weeks. Southampton picked up seven points in the previous three rounds and got away from the relegation zone. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side sits in 14th place, being four points ahead of the red line. The Saints should keep up where they left off, as they still haven’t got away from the danger zone. Mohamed Elyounoussi and the lads should improve their finishing since they netted only nine times so far. On the other hand, Southampton’s defense hasn’t been too bad, as they conceded 12 goals this season. They lost only once at the home ground and hope for another good display in front of their fans.

Aston Villa is in real trouble, as the away side lost four times in a row. They slipped down to the 15th spot, being one point behind their upcoming rivals. The Villans didn’t pick up a single point in October, and they need to perform better to get away from the trouble. Dean Smith’s side has had too many problems in the back lately, as they conceded at least two goals on the previous four occasions. Although Danny Ings and the lads scored 14 goals this season, Aston Villa conceded 19 times in ten games. The visitors need to be much more disciplined in the back to change their fortune.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Aston Villa has been playing very badly in the past month, and their confidence is very low. Southampton is on the rise, and they could capitalize on their rival’s lousy form. Therefore, we expect the hosts to pick up all three points from this one.

Goals Market Prediction

Although Southampton has had trouble converting their chances into goals, the Villans are very leaky in the back. We believe the fans will enjoy an efficient game in which both teams will find the back of the net.

Manchester United VS Manchester City

Kick Off: 11/06/2021 08:30

Manchester United
After the disastrous defeat to Liverpool, the team adjusted the lineup, got a win and a draw in the last two games, so Solskjaer's position was saved for the time being. Ronaldo saved the team at the last minute in the Champions League in the middle of the week. It is no exaggeration to say that Manchester United can maintain sufficient competitiveness in the league and the Champions League to a large extent thanks to Ronaldo. What's worse, Varane suffered injuries and was absent for a month, which is undoubtedly a great blow for Manchester United's fragile defence.

Manchester City
Manchester City easily beat Brugge 4-1 in the Champions League group match in the middle of the week and successfully surpassed PSG and took the top place in the group. Defender Cancelo played an assist hat trick. This victory also largely eased the heavy atmosphere of the team's previous cold exit in the League Cup and the defeat in the last league game. Manchester City's offense and defense performance is extremely excellent. At present, the goal rate and goal loss rate of them are the first-class in Premier League.

Prediction
The two teams have their own advantages and disadvantages, and they are basically the same in terms of offense data. However, Manchester United is far inferior to Manchester City in terms of defense quality, and the physical consumption of main players such as Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes is too large. It is difficult to win this battle even if there are home benefits. Manchester City will undoubtedly have a greater chance to grab points in this "City Derby" war.

Pick: Manchester City to be unbeaten
Final Result: 2-2, 2-3

Chelsea VS Burnley

Kick Off: 11/06/2021 11:00

Chelsea
There is no doubt that Chelsea is the most stable team in the first ten rounds of the Premier League this season. Their only defeat was lost to Manchester City. Recently, they have played a wave of winning climax in the league. At present, the team have continued to advance in three lines including the Champions League, League Cup, and Premier League. Although Lukaku and Werner have not recovered from their injuries, Chelsea's squad is strong enough to win easily against teams with average strength, not to mention Kanté's return this weekend.

Burnley
Burnley easily won Brentford at home in the last round of the League, gaining the first victory of the league and greatly improved the morale. Kornai continued to score goals in the last round of the league. At present, four goals have been scored by him and his state has warmed up. However, from their performance this season, one of the reasons for the team's poor performance is - poor away combat ability, only 3D-3L in six away games. They have conceded goals every league game for the concede rate has reached 1.6 goals, whose defense is still relatively weak.

Prediction
Due to the great difference in strength between the two sides, and the blue army is at their peak in terms of state. At the same time, Chelsea have the upper hand in the historical battle record. Chelsea will win this game without difficulty.

Pick: Chelsea
Total: Over 2.5/3 goals

Southampton vs Aston Villa

The opening game of the weekend in the Premier League is an 8pm GMT kick-off on Friday night between lower mid-table sides Southampton and Aston Villa at St Mary's Stadium. It will be a game that takes place on Bonfire Night but will we see fireworks in this match where the two teams have contrasting periods of form coming into the game? Who will prevail victorious?

Southampton were looking to be in a little bit of turmoil a month or so ago but an improvement in results has seen Ralph Hasenhuttl's side go 3 league games without defeat and move up to 14th in the table. The Saints come into this game unbeaten against sides they have played this season that have been positioned lower than them in the table at kick-off. However, the team only need to suffer one more loss before the end of the year to make their 19 defeats the most number of losses they have suffered in a calendar year since 1998. If you will be switching on to watch this game expecting a goal fest then you could be disappointed. No stadium in the Premier League has seen less league goals than the 8 goals that St Mary's Stadium has witnessed.

Aston Villa appear to be struggling to adapt to life after Jack Grealish. The team had shown inconsistent levels of quality but that has now sunk to a poor run of form that consists of 4 league defeats in a row. As has been the case with previous downturns in Villa's form under Dean Smith, it seems that the defence is the main issue again. Villa have conceded a staggering 12 goals in their last 4 league matches. Only Norwich and Newcastle have a worse defensive record than Villa in the league so far this season. As if the defensive worries aren't bad enough, Smith will be without a number of key players including Danny Ings, Douglas Luiz, Bertrand Traore, and Ezri Konsa.

I think this game will be decided by the fact that Southampton have far less absentees than Aston Villa. The Midlands team have only won 1 of the last 10 meetings but that did come in the most recent encounter last season. I just feel that something is broken with Villa right now and even though Smith has fixed things like this before they still keep on happening. Southampton have this game to win if they want it and I think they'll get all 3 points.

Manchester United vs Manchester City

It's the big one in the Premier League at 12:30pm GMT on Saturday afternoon as the 186th Manchester derby takes place with Manchester United hosting Manchester City at Old Trafford. This fixture has so much history, emotion, and memorable moments over the years and with both teams not exactly maintaining consistent form right now you feel that this game is wide open.

Manchester United needed a late show from Cristiano Ronaldo once again in midweek to bail them out of a losing situation against Italian Serie A side Atalanta in the Champions League. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to fend off the hounds at the door. Just 1 win from their last 5 league games has seen the Red Devils drop to 5th in the table and 8 points off the pace at the top. Defensive concerns continue to plague Solskjaer with Raphael Varane ruled out for another month after picking up an injury against Atalanta with Victor Lindelof also not 100% certain to start here. Paul Pogba is also continuing his suspension after his red card against Liverpool. If United lose here then it'll be the first time since 1989 that they will have lost 8 league and cup home games in a calendar year. They haven't been able to keep a clean sheet in their last 13 home matches. There is some hope for United fans in the fact they are unbeaten against City in the past four league meetings. Cristiano Ronaldo has also scored 8 goals in 16 appearances against Pep Guardiola's sides with only Jamie Vardy boasting a better conversion rate. Solskjaer himself has also won 4 of his 8 meetings with Guardiola which is the best of any manager in world football.

Manchester City don't seem to be hitting the heights that they had promised earlier in the campaign. Guardiola might have seen his team lose the FA Community Shield and then their opening league game to Tottenham but they then seemed to hit some decent form. Unfortunately, a 2-0 loss away to PSG in the Champions League, an exit to West Ham in the EFL Cup 4th Round, and then the 2-0 loss at home to Crystal Palace in the league last week has hit morale at the Citizens. Are questions being asked of Guardiola? Surely not! The club are still in 3rd place but they are now 5 points off the title pace. Phil Foden could be the man to get things going for City in this game. The English attacking midfielder has been involved in 14 goals in his last 16 away league games including scoring 11 goals. At the other end of the spectrum, Raheem Sterling has made 23 appearances against Manchester United down the years but is still yet to register a goal against them.

Is this arguably the toughest Manchester derby to predict in a long time? Yes. Without a doubt. Manchester United are still as inconsistent as ever under Solskjaer. Just as you think he's nailed it they bottle job a game and then just when you write them off they bounce back. Manchester City can pin the blame of last week's defeat on the sending off of Aymeric Laporte but results and performances have shown some concerning issues at times. I still think that in this fixture it will be the weakness of the United back-line that will be the difference. City to win.

Manchester United vs Manchester City

The home side goes to this match after a mid-week trip to Bergamo, where they picked up a point. Cristiano Ronaldo saved the Red Devils, as he scored a brace in the stoppage time of both halves. That draw keeps Manchester United on the top of Group F, but they still haven’t finished the job around securing a playoffs spot. On the other hand, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side broke a terrible streak with a 3:0 victory against the Spurs last weekend. Manchester United is 5th in the Premier League, being eight points behind Chelsea and three behind their upcoming rivals. The Red Devils failed to win three times in a row at Old Trafford, and they need a disciplined defensive performance to beat their fierce competitors.

Manchester City was confident against Club Brugge in the Champions League, and they are first in Group A. That victory put them very close to a place in the knockout stage, and they will fight for the top spot with PSG. However, Pep Guardiola’s team stumbled last weekend in a 2:0 defeat against Crystal Palace that hurt their title bid. They are now five points behind Chelsea, sitting in 4th place. Although Ruben Dias and the lads have been solid in defense, the Citizens failed to keep the clean sheet four times on the previous five occasions. Nevertheless, Manchester City is on an excellent run on the road, where they missed to win only once in the last four outings. If they put a good attacking display, the visitors could pick up points at Old Trafford.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

It is going to be an exciting clash, which could easily go either way. Neither side has been consistent lately, and that’s where Manchester United will search for a chance. However, the hosts are terrible in defense, and we believe Manchester City could win this encounter.

Goals Market Prediction

Although their recent head-to-head clashes have been low-scoring ones, we expect to see goals in both nets here. Manchester United couldn’t keep the clean sheet against much weaker teams, while the Citizens have been leaky in the back lately.

West Ham United VS Liverpool

Kick Off: 11/07/2021 12:30

West Ham United

West Ham United have achieved a wave of unbeaten point grabbing climax in Premier League, League Cup and Europa League. At present, they have been unbeaten for six consecutive games in various competitions. The team rank 1st in the group of Europa League with 3W-1D, and advanced to the elimination stage two rounds in advance. They have an excellent record even against strong rivals such as Everton, Tottenham and Manchester City recently. Benrahma is in excellent condition for having contributed 5 goals and 3 attacks this season.

Liverpool

Liverpool have been unbeaten this season so far. Since August, they have maintained an amazing record of 20 consecutive unbeaten games in various competitions. Recently, there has been a wave of climax in Premier League, League Cup and Champions League, which firmly grasp the promotion quota in Champions League. At present, the goal rate of Liverpool is as high as 3 goals Per game, which shows their pierce offense. Moreover, they have a strong ability to fight away from home for a unbeaten record in 13 consecutive away games across the season, and most of them have been won smoothly. But recently Liverpool encountered a wave of collective injuries of midfielders such as Milner and Keïta.

Prediction

Liverpool have defeated West Ham United many times in recent years, occupying an absolute psychological advantage. West Ham United can make good use of Liverpool's lack of depth in the middle to score goals. However, Liverpool's amazing state and away performance this season, the number of goals in this game should be considerable. We look forward to Liverpool adding another 3 points in the table.

Pick: Liverpool

Arsenal VS Watford

Kick Off: 11/07/2021 10:00

Arsenal

Arsenal were in terrible shape at the beginning of the season. However, with Aubameyang and other main players returning one after another, the team's state began to get better. After the 2-0 away victory over Leicester City in the last round of the league, Arsenal have achieved 7W-2D in the last 9 games. What is more favorable for Arsenal is that compared with several other traditional giants, they don't have to be distracted from the European game this season, and the team can concentrate on playing in the league.

Watford

Watford return to the top league again this season. Naturally, the primary goal of them is to avoid relegation. At present, they rank 16th with 10 points, leading the relegation zone by 3 points. So far this season, Watford's state has been quite erratic. Although there will be wonderful performances occasionally, the performance is not ideal more often. In the last round against Southampton, which was close in strength, they could only eat the result of defeat when they occupied the advantage of home.

Prediction

Arsenal are in good shape recently, and their lineup is quite complete. As long as they win this game, they have a great chance to rush into the European qualification zone. In contrast, although Watford has won 2 of the last three away games, the defense loopholes are always large. It is optimistic about the smooth victory of the Gunners.

Pick: Arsenal

Final Results: 3-1, 3-0

Brentford vs Norwich

The 3pm GMT kick-offs on Saturday in the Premier League offer up a wealth of interesting fixtures. The first of those is a clash between two teams that were competing in the Championship last season but have experienced contrasting starts to life in the top flight. It's Brentford versus Norwich at the Brentford Community Stadium and will we see the visitors finally pick up their first league win of the season?

Brentford had appeared to have adapted well to life in the top flight of English football but it's now been 3 defeats on the bounce for Thomas Frank's men leaving the club down in 13th place and just 5 points above the relegation zone. The Bees will welcome back Bryan Mbeumo but will be without Kristoffer Ajer, Shandon Baptiste, and Yoane Wissa. A worrying stat from history is that the last time Brentford lost 4 games in a row their fourth defeat was a 5-0 battering against Norwich. Home form is an issue with the team taking just 1 point from their last 4 home league games. Interestingly, the 6 goals Brentford have scored at home have been scored by six different players with star players Ivan Toney and Mbeumo yet to get off the mark on home turf.

Norwich will need to defy history if they're to survive this season with no club avoiding relegation from the Premier League after only earning 2 points or less after 10 league games. Daniel Farke's side suffered a narrow 2-1 home loss to Leeds last weekend and that solitary goal was their first in 5 league matches. It's now no win in 20 Premier League games for Norwich stretching back to their last stint in the top division. The Canaries have failed to score more than once in the past 28 top flight league games. Worryingly, the team have failed to score in their first 5 away Premier League games this season. It's a feat that hasn't been done since Derby's notorious season back in 2007/08. Scoring first will be key for Norwich if they want to win this game because they haven't won in any of the last 33 Premier League matches when they've conceded first.

I just can't see where Norwich are going to pick up their first win this season. This is arguably a great opportunity for them given the fact Brentford have hit a brick wall in terms of their form but these two sides are still some way apart in terms of how they have approached this season. Until Norwich show me more endeavour, fight, and solidity I can't back them. So I'm going for a Brentford victory here to put more misery on Norwich.

Crystal Palace vs Wolves

It's a mid-table battle at 3pm GMT in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon as two clubs with new managers for this season go head-to-head with Crystal Palace playing host to Wolves at Selhurst Park. Both sets of fans seem satisfied with how their new men at the wheel are performing and with both teams coming off big wins last weekend this is a chance to keep that run going.

Crystal Palace are looking like a side that are moving in the right direction under Patrick Vieira. The Eagles pulled off the result of their season so far last weekend with a 2-0 win away to Manchester City. It ended a 5-game winless streak but due to 4 of those games being draws it now means that Palace are unbeaten in 5 league matches and up to 14th in the table. Eberechi Eze and Nathan Ferguson look like the only absentees for Palace ahead of this game. Home form has been key for Palace so far with themselves and Liverpool retaining the only undefeated home record in the Premier League so far this season. If they avoid defeat here then it'll be the first time since 1993/94 that they've gone unbeaten in their first six home league games. The team do remain slow starters though having only scored 2 of their 13 league goals in the first half.

Wolves look a lot more dangerous now than they did earlier in the season when you felt that Bruno Lage was maybe playing a little bit conservatively and that the players weren't quite making the most of their chances. Wanderers are now in 7th place and just 4 points outside the Champions League qualification spots after a decent run of 5 games unbeaten including 4 wins. It's also 3 wins from their last 4 away league matches. Striker Hwang Hee-chan appears to be repaying the faith Lage has shown in him by scoring 4 goals with the 4 shots on goal he's had so far this season. That's what you call clinical finishing. One concerning statistic is that Wolves have only won 1 of their last 5 games against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

These two sides became quite familiar with each other last season having met three times with two meetings in the league and an FA Cup 3rd Round clash. Wolves edged two of those games with Palace taking one victory. This should be a captivating game with both teams in decent places in terms of how they're playing right now. I'm not sure I can separate them. I would back Wolves but Palace are tough to beat at home so a draw seems like the best option.

Chelsea vs Burnley

The final 3pm GMT kick-off I'm covering for the Saturday afternoon games in the Premier League is this clash between league leaders Chelsea and relegation zone positioned Burnley at Stamford Bridge. These two teams may be situated at opposing ends of the table but current form is not too bad for either side so we could witness a closer game here than many expect.

Chelsea continue to look like the team to beat this season with Thomas Tuchel's side retaining their place at the top of the table in the Premier League with 25 points from 10 league matches thus far. The Blues have won 4 league games on the bounce having kept clean sheets in their last 3 victories. Striker Romelu Lukaku may still be out injured but the side have shown that they can adapt to games without their talismanic front man in the line-up. Defensive solidity has been key for Chelsea this season with the team winning to nil 10 times this season already. The team have won their last two home league games by an aggregate score of 10-1.

Burnley come into this game as heavy underdogs but Sean Dyche will have been pleased, and relieved, to see his team pick up their first league win of the season in a resounding 3-1 victory at home to newly promoted Brentford last weekend. The Clarets are still in the bottom three in 18th place but that win took their points tally up to 7 for this season and they are now just 3 points adrift of safety. They are still yet to get a win on the road this season and they have already conceded 11 goals on the road in the league. This will be a huge challenge for them against a Chelsea side that know how to shut games down.

The recent meetings between these two teams have been quite one-sided with Burnley winning just 1 of the last 14 meetings. That solitary win was a 3-2 victory at Stamford Bridge back on 12th August, 2017. Since then, Chelsea are unbeaten in 7 encounters including winning the last 4 with the previous 3 wins coming with a clean sheet. I wouldn't be surprised to see another clean sheet Chelsea win here.

Brighton vs Newcastle

The evening kick-off in the Premier League on Saturday is the 5:30pm GMT start between Brighton and Newcastle at the Amex Stadium. These two sides have largely contested very uneventful fixtures over recent times but with the home team starting the season well and the away side recently experiencing a lucrative takeover it feels like this encounter has a little bit more spice to it.

Brighton started this season very well with the team flirting with the sides at the very top of the table. A downturn in form with wins turning to draws has seen their league position suffer slightly but it's all still very positive. It might be 5 league games without a win but when you consider 4 of those have been draws, including a 2-2 draw with Liverpool last weekend, and the club remaining in 8th place and just 4 points outside the Champions League qualification spots it's all good stuff. The Seagulls have earned a club top flight record 16 points after 10 league games. However, there is a warning sign from history with the team winning just 4 of their 26 Premier League matches against teams that start the day in the bottom three.

Newcastle might well be super rich now under the ownership of the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund but they can't touch a penny of it until January. Until then they're stuck with this lot under the tutelage of interim head coach Graeme Jones. The team are down in 19th place and only 2 points off the bottom. The Magpies are now 6 points adrift of safety and the fact that their first choice target of Unai Emery rejected them and they've moved onto their back-up option of Eddie Howe suggests that things might not be going as smoothly behind the scenes as the owners had hoped. Failure to win this game would make it Newcastle's worst ever start to a season. Only Norwich have conceded more league goals in the top flight than Newcastle this season.

I think this has a Brighton win written all over it. Newcastle are in a dire state right now. Until they bring in a permanent manager it feels like they're a bit all at sea. Brighton are unbeaten in the last 8 Premier League encounters. Newcastle have also only won 2 of their last 16 matches against Brighton in all competitions. I can't help but feel this will be another one going in Brighton's favour.

Everton vs Tottenham Hotspur

The home side enjoyed an excellent start to the campaign, but they entered a losing streak. Everton lost three times in a row and slipped to 10th place. Nevertheless, Rafa Benitez’s side is only three points behind the fifth-placed Manchester United, and it’s still not too late for the Toffees to enter the continental battle. However, they need to start picking up points urgently and tighten their defense. Michael Keane and the lads failed to keep the clean sheet seven times on the previous eight occasions. On the other hand, Everton has been doing fine in front of the oppositions’ net. The hosts lost their last two matches in front of their fans, and they want to get back on the winning track.

Tottenham Hotspur heads to this game after losing twice in a row. The latest defeat came against Manchester United, who defeated them 3:0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Nevertheless, there was a chance on the Spurs bench, as Antonio Conte became their new manager. The visitors are one point ahead of their upcoming rivals, and Conte’s first task would be to consolidate the team. Harry Kane still hasn’t found a proper form, as he netted only once in the Premier League. His goal drought reflected on Tottenham’s attacking performances as well, as the Spurs have produced less than a goal per game. They need to do much better in front of the oppositions’ net to get back in the continental spots race.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

It is a clash of two teams with losing streaks, and at least one will end on Sunday. Neither side has impressed in the past few weeks, and we wouldn’t be surprised if this clash ends in a draw.

Goals Market Prediction

Everton has been pretty productive this season, but their poor defending cost them many points. Tottenham has the potential to score at least once, and we believe that neither team will keep the clean sheet in this encounter.

West Ham vs Liverpool

After failing to secure a top-four finish last season, the hosts aim for another shot. West Ham is currently fourth, being three points ahead of Manchester United and two behind their upcoming rivals. David Moyes’s side enjoys an excellent form, as they managed to celebrate three times in a row. Moreover, the Hammers didn’t have a light schedule, as they faced Everton, the Spurs, and Aston Villa. Michail Antonio and the lads have been pretty productive in the final third, while their defense performs a good job. However, West Ham hasn’t been too confident at the home ground, as they booked only two wins on five occasions. A challenging game is ahead of them, and they want to put another excellent performance.

Liverpool enjoyed a 2:0 victory in mid-week, as they beat Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. The Reds were dominant in that game and would like to repeat that display. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side could have a better composure in this match, as they missed many chances against Los Colchoneros. The Reds are three points behind Chelsea, and they had a hiccup in the previous round, allowing Brighton to get away undefeated from Anfield. Mo Salah and the lads are the only team that hasn’t tasted a defeat in the Premier League 2021/22 season yet. However, they should stabilize their form, as Liverpool failed two in three times on the previous five occasions.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

It is going to be an exciting clash, and although Liverpool is a favorite, West Ham shouldn’t be underestimated. The hosts surprise their rival here, and we will back them not to lose by more than a goal.

Goals Market Prediction

Both teams have been very productive this season, and they won’t give up on the attacking approach. We should enjoy an entertaining match, with both sides finding the back of the net here, like in their previous three encounters.

Arsenal vs Watford

The Premier League action begins on Sunday with a triple header at 2pm GMT with the first of those games I'm previewing between a resurgent Arsenal and an inconsistent Watford at the Emirates Stadium. These two sides are experiencing contrasting seasons with the home team seemingly finding a new lease of life but the away side are now hovering precariously above the relegation zone.

Arsenal had looked to be all at sea earlier in the season but a period of fine form has moved Mikel Arteta's men up to 7th in the table and just 3 points outside the Champions League qualification spots. It's now 9 league and cup games unbeaten and back-to-back wins for the Gunners. Arteta himself celebrates his 100th game in charge of the club. His team can pride themselves on starting games well with 9 of their 12 league goals coming in the first half of matches. History does favour Arsenal in this game in a number of ways with the London club undefeated in 31 home league games against newly promoted clubs. Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has also scored 6 goals in 5 league appearances against Watford.

Watford have started life under new head coach Claudio Ranieri with a mish mash set of results. The Hornets are down in 16th place and just 2 points above the relegation zone with Ranieri losing 2 and winning 1 of his 3 league matches in charge. Unfortunately, Ranieri faces one of his bogey clubs with the Italian manager having only won 1 of his 18 games against Arsenal. There is the opportunity for Watford to win back-to-back away games in the Premier League for the first time since September 2017. It's now 20 straight games in the top flight without keeping a clean sheet for Watford.

The historical statistics heavily favour Arsenal in this fixture with the Gunners having won 11 of the last 14 league meetings. You have to say that there's still a level of unpredictability surrounding Watford right now with Ranieri still getting his feet under the table. However, Arsenal are in the ascendancy and given how they seem to be in the better form at the moment they should be backed to win this one.

Everton vs Tottenham

One of the more intriguing games in the Premier League this weekend is the 2pm GMT kick-off on Sunday where Everton take on Tottenham at Goodison Park. These two sides are considered as big names in the English football game but their fans will feel both of them should be performing better. Will this be the game that helps them turn a corner or will we see more woe added to their struggles?

Everton are in 11th place coming into this game with the Toffees 6 points clear of relegation but also 6 points adrift of the Champions League places. Rafa Benitez has had a turbulent start to his reign on the blue side of Merseyside but with the club now without a win in their last 4 league games including losing their previous 3 league matches there are questions being asked about his suitability for the role. The team are still without Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucoure so the struggles may yet continue with two such key players missing. If Benitez was to lose this game then he'd equal his worst losing streak in the Premier League which he experienced three times at Newcastle.

Tottenham have started life under new head coach Antonio Conte in frenetic fashion. The 3-2 win at home to Vitesse in the Europa Conference League on Thursday showed the best and worst of this Spurs team. Andre Villas-Boas remains the only manager of the last 7 men to take the hot seat at Tottenham who has failed to win their first Premier League game in charge of the club. One of the issues that Conte will need to address is the impotency the team is experiencing in front of goal having scored just 9 goals in their 10 league games so far. Harry Kane's goal drought is one of the reasons for that poor return. Depressingly, Tottenham haven't had a single shot on goal in their last 2 hours and 16 minutes of league football.

I have to say that this could be a very fascinating game to watch. Everton are in a poor state right now and the key absentees mean that Benitez is kind of managing with one arm tied behind his back. Tottenham have started life under Conte and I feel the new manager bounce could be in full effect here. Can he get this Tottenham team scoring goals again without sacrificing defensive solidity? That's the big question. I think he'll guide them to a win here though.

Leeds vs Leicester

The final 2pm GMT kick-off I'm previewing on Sunday for the Premier League is a clash between Leeds and Leicester at Elland Road. Both teams are still looking down rather than up and until that changes there is an added importance to getting 3 points in games like this. Can either team do enough to take the win or will we see a battle between two sides that are happy to take a point?

Leeds continue to struggle this season and with key players being absent is probably no surprise. The Whites are down in 17th place and just 2 points above the relegation zone. Marcelo Bielsa's men have only lost 1 of their last 4 league games though so it feels like maybe things are beginning to pick up. They are unbeaten in their last two home league games as well. The stark fact remains though that Leeds have only managed to win 2 league games all season. Scoring goals is also a big problem with the team only scoring more than 1 goal on two occasions in the league.

Leicester were looking like the best contenders to break the big six but Brendan Rodgers has seen his team get off to a slow start in the league. Has their involvement in the Europa League affected that? Maybe. The Foxes are in 12th place and just as close to the relegation zone as they are to the Champions League qualification spots but it's just 1 defeat in their last 5 league games. Unfortunately, that solitary defeat did come in their most recent league game to end a 4 game unbeaten streak in the league. It is 3 wins from their last 6 matches in all competitions so they are re-discovering that winning mentality. They have also lost just 1 of their previous 4 away league matches.

Even though it feels like Leicester should be the favourites coming into this I feel you can't write Leeds off on home turf right now. Both of these sides will be coming into this game feeling they can take all 3 points. Will we see a winner though? I'm not sure there's a lot separating these two teams coming into this game so I have to feel that backing the draw seems the best option.

West Ham vs Liverpool

It appears my original preview didn't post. This 4:30pm GMT kick-off on Sunday will see West Ham take on Liverpool in a battle of 4th versus 3rd. Both teams are in fine form with West Ham winning three league games on the bounce including two clean sheets. Liverpool are the only remaining unbeaten team in the top division of English football. However, both of West Ham's two league defeats this season have come at home and Liverpool have won 8 of the last 9 encounters between the two teams. If there is an anytime scorer bet then you'll want to get on Mohamed Salah because he has bagged 9 goals in 8 league games against the Hammers.
