When Paris Saint Germain and Lille meet at Prince's Park on Friday, the league leaders will compete with the defending champions.

Although Messi, Neymar, Mbappe and others played on the field, the team still made a goalless draw with Marseille in Ligue 1 Derby last weekend, also they won RB Leipzig 3-2 in the Champions League last week. PSG have won 9 of the 11 league games and only lost one so far this season, which lead Lens by 7 points and still at the top of the table. The team have won all the seven games at home this season in all competitions, scoring two even more goals in each of these victories.

Lille

Lille played a 1-1 draw at home to Stade Brestois last game in the league. Although they had an early lead through the forward David, Lille showed a poor performance during the game. The defending champions only rank 10th after 11 matches with 4W-3D-4L and 15points, having won just four games since the beginning of this season. The team have already lost more matches this season than they did in the entirety of their last championship-winning season. Moreover, they lost four of the last five away games in all competitions.

Prediction

Although These two teams met each other in the French Super Cup in August and a 1-0 win for Lille, and PSG did not score in three of the last four meetings with Lille, accoring to the current form of the defending champions, they should still be able to easily beat them and win with a few goals.

PSG vs Lille

The hosts head to this game after snatching a point in a hot derby against Marseille. Although we didn’t see goals in that match, it was a very exciting one. PSG comfortably keeps the top spot, as they are seven points ahead of Lens. However, Mauricio Pochettino’s side hasn’t been too consistent lately, as they celebrated just once in the previous three Ligue 1 matches. Kylian Mbappe and the lads are still the most efficient team in the competition, but they produced only two goals on the last three occasions. PSG has been perfect at Parc des Princes so far, as they haven’t allowed a single point to their visitors. They want to continue in the same fashion and beat the defending champions.

Lille cannot be satisfied with its campaign, as they are very far from having a chance to defend the title. Les Dogues are 10^th, being 13 points behind their upcoming rivals. The away side snatched just a point from the previous two rounds when Brest held them to a 1:1 draw. Jocelyn Gourvennec’s side hasn’t been disciplined enough in the back, as they have already conceded 16 goals. On the other hand, David Jonathan scored half of Lille’s Ligue 1 goals, and his teammates from the final third should back him up. Nevertheless, the visitors want another good display against PSG, as they managed to beat them twice in a row.

Although PSG hasn’t been too convincing lately, Lille has played far below their capabilities. The hosts are firm favorites in this one, and we expect them to pick up all three points from this clash.

One of the teams managed to keep the clean sheet in their previous six head-to-head clashes. Since Lille hasn’t been too productive, PSG might keep its net intact in this encounter.

Happy to get odds against for 5 or more cards with a red counting as 2. Ref has hit 50 or more points in 23 out of 36 games over this season and the previous 2. His average in that time has been around 54 points compared to a career long average of 43 so there seems to be an established trend for more cards. It could be a tame affair but, at the prices, worth a shot at the overs for me. (I'm also on 4-6 cards shown at 11/10 as a system pick which has landed in 19 of those 36 games.)

Paris Saint Germain continues to single-handedly lead the French championship standings. After 11 rounds, the Parisians have 28 points. 
Last Sunday, PSG played a nondescript away match against Marseille. Despite the fact that Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe appeared on the field at the same time, the meeting ended with a score of 0-0. Neymar and Messi received some of the lowest ratings in their team from the French press at the end of the match in Marseille. The Argentinean and the Brazilian played a really weak match. 
PSG have won all their home games earlier this season, scoring 14 goals.

Lille, meanwhile, after 11 games played, is in the tenth place in the table. The current champion failed the start of the season, but is now gradually recovering. In five previous matches in the French championship, Josselin Gurvenneck's team suffered only one defeat and scored 10 points.
In the previous round, Lille drew at home with Brest 1-1. In addition, last week, the Dogs parted with the Spanish Sevilla 0-0 in the Champions League match.
Lille have won only one away game this season.

Prediction and bet

I think the fans of Lille should throw away false illusions - to repeat the result of last season, when in April the Dogs beat the Parisians at the Parc des Princes 1-0, it is extremely difficult for them now.
