Won this race last year off 2lb lower mark...not seen since so fitness/wellbeing taken on trust, but yard had a winner the other day, so might well be primed for a course and distance that clearly suits. Doesn't look the strongest race, fav Larch Hill up 7lb makes life tougher and is well matched with Romanor on their last run. Demon D'aunou has the ability but it's above my pay grade to predict Jonjo's horses. Couldn't be much more wrong, ran a shocker ? Zilzalian Posted October 5, 2021 Share Posted October 5, 2021 (edited) Last month I highlighted a very high speed figure @12F that horse runs this evening at Kempton 6:30 its name is Quilted and although i am not a big fan of short priced horses or favs my opinion is that it should be nearer even money and not the 9/4 it is trading at the moment. I must admit i am stunned at that race and many will say i am arguing through my pocket but out to 5/1 and trails in last not even given a hard ride, that race stunk to me. For what it is worth I had the winner to come second to quilted in straight F/C so its all the more galling. Actually the same race I'm sure Bartzella was outdone by a big odds horse in the same race. Will be interesting to see but it's form doesn't look anything as yet. Only one I can complain about is Buckingham who I feel was given a very poor ride just now and if ridden handier, could have threatened the front two as he was in traffic and only got going late on. Anyway after getting a hard fought for £13.13 my profit on the day was £5.13. This makes my new balance £704.19 (Bank £1056.22) 38 Races tomorrow Lots of soft/heavy going to contend with though Ludlow on the jumps reporting Good going. Of course its all weather at Kempton but even that's described as being on the slow side. EW part was a profit but cost me a four figure sum by not winning. Yeah I try not to blame the jockeys as much as possible if a selection loses but there was no excuse for that ride yesterday. Broke well enough from a wide stall but stuck Buckingham in behind and I understand some horses need that but it bewilders me when I can see from the screen they're going to need some serious luck to get the gaps needed. He had so much traffic in front of him and there was no chance he was going to win from the position he was in. The front two had already gone and when he tried to make a move he was squeezed out of it, had to pull the horse out wide and got going far too late although he was a fast finishing 3rd. He's 100% going to be a horse I continue to back until he wins a race as I really think he can land us a nice one.
