AC Milan vs Atletico Madrid

Tuesday,Sep 28 2021 15:00

AC Milan

AC Milan suffered a 3-2 defeat to old rivals Liverpool in the opening matchweek. In spite of their disappointing start to the 2021-22 Champions League, Milan's title charge in Serie A continues to gather pace, as they gained a 2-1 success at Spezia on Saturday. AC Milan have eased to three wins from their opening three league fixtures at San Siro this term - scoring eight goals and conceding just one.

Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid have endured a discernible slump this season and suffered a shock defeat against Deportivo Alaves over the weekend. Atletico had embarked on a three-game winning streak away from home - each one by a 2-1 scoreline - before being downed by Alaves at the weekend, but they have also failed to score in their last three Champions League games

Prediction

Atletico Madrid have struggled in the final third this season and will need to hit their stride this week. AC Milan are in better form at the moment and hold a slight upper hand going into this game.

AC Milan to be unbeaten

Final Results: 1-0, 1-1

Real Madrid vs Sheriff Tiraspol

Real Madrid

Picking up 17 points from their seven La Liga matches,Real Madrid are sitting top of the table. Real Madrid have actually only won five of their last 12 home European fixtures, suffering four defeats in the process. They opened their European campaign with a 1-0 victory over Inter at San Siro on September 15. Real Madrid’s blistering run of results experienced a bump in the road last Saturday when they were held to a goalless draw by a dogged Villarreal side in the Spanish La Liga.

Sheriff Tiraspol

Sheriff Tiraspol, who won a sixth successive Moldovan league title last season, are competing in the group stage of the Champions League for the first time in their history. They claimed a dramatic 1-0 win over Inter Milan at the San Siro in their Group D opener last Wednesday. Sheriff Tiraspol picked up six consecutive wins in all competitions, scoring 15 goals and conceding four.

Prediction

Real Madrid have enjoyed a stellar start to the season and are currently seated at the top of the La Liga standings. It’s trusted that they can take down this game. However, the recommendation is to take under 3.

FC Porto vs Liverpool

Tuesday,Sep 28 2021 15:00

FC Porto

FC Porto kicked off their Champions League campaign away at Atletico Madrid, with the game ending in a goalless draw. They are in their 18-game unbeaten run in all competitions and will go into the game in very good form. Porto warmed up themselves in ideal fashion with a 2-1 league success away to Gil Vicente

Liverpool

Liverpool beat AC Milan 3-2 in a dramatic game at Anfield in their last Champions League outing. Afterfinding the back of the net three times in subsequent clashes with Crystal Palace and Norwich City, Liverpool were denied a fifth consecutive win on Saturday as they were held 3-3 by a dogged Brentford side in the Premier League. Liverpool have won four and drawn one of their last five away games in the Champions League group stages.

Prediction

Both teams go into the game on Tuesday unbeaten across all competitions this season. Nevertheless, Liverpool have got a great h2h record as Porto are winless in their eight meetings with Liverpool across all competitions. Given these, expect Liverpool will be the winner again.

Milan vs Atletico Madrid

The home side heads to this game after the straight victories in Serie A. Stefano Pioli’s side celebrated a 2:1 victory away to Spezia thanks to Brahim Diaz’s goal five minutes before the final whistle. That win keeps them second on the Serie A table and two points behind Napoli. Rossoneri opened their continental campaign with a trip to Liverpool, where they lost 3:2 but had a pretty good performance. They are the only team in Group B that still hasn’t won a point, but it’s too early to write them off from going further to the knockout stage. However, Milan will need to go for a victory against Atletico Madrid, and they need to try that without Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Atletico Madrid lost against Alaves last weekend, although the Basque side was one of the worst teams in La Liga. The away side has not been very consistent lately, as they celebrated only two wins in the previous six matches in all competitions. Los Colchoneros are three points behind Real Madrid, and the title battle in La Liga should be very exciting this season. Diego Simeone’s side has had some troubles converting its chances into goals lately, as they only netted twice on the previous four occasions. Also, Luis Suarez and the lads need to be more efficient in the Champions League since the visitors missed the chance to beat Porto at home. It will be interesting to see if they can get back home from Milano with a win.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

It is going to be a clash of the two strong teams fighting for a place in the knockout stage. We expect to see a great battle, and we won’t be surprised if this clash ends in a draw.

Goals Market Prediction

Milan has been pretty efficient this season, despite playing without Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the past few weeks. On the other hand, Atletico Madrid has significant attacking potential, and they could score in this encounter. Therefore, we don’t think either side will keep the clean sheet.

PSG vs Manchester City

The hosts have been impeccable in Ligue 1 so far, as they booked all eight victories. PSG is cruising to the title, although we haven’t reached the quarter of the campaign yet. Mauricio Pochettino’s side is nine points ahead of Lens, and only a miracle could stop them from returning the trophy to Parc des Princes. However, Neymar and the lads don’t enjoy their Champions League campaign, where they finally want to win the title. Club Brugge held them to a 1:1 draw, and the Saints need to do much better to reach the knockout phase.

On the other hand, Manchester City is full of confidence after celebrating a narrow 1:0 victory at Stamford Bridge. Thanks to Liverpool’s and Manchester United’s hiccups last weekend, the visitors climbed to 2nd place. Pep Guardiola’s side has been unbeatable in defense lately, as they managed to keep the clean sheet on the previous three occasions. The Premier League title race will be very exciting this season, and the Citizens should keep up the form. Phil Foden and the lads enjoy a strong start into the Champions League campaign, as they beat RB Leipzig 6:3 in a goal galore. If they get back home undefeated from this clash, Manchester City will be very close to securing a place in the playoffs.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

This is the clash of titans, as these two teams are the major candidates to win the Champions League this season. The match can go either way, but we believe the hosts will step up and show they are capable of going to the very end. Therefore, we think PSG will deliver a victory.

Goals Market Prediction

Although Manchester City has been very disciplined in the back lately, PSG has strong artillery in the final third. Therefore, we believe the crowd will enjoy an exciting clash, in which we should see at least three goals.

Paris Saint Germain (PSG)

Paris had a 1-1 draw with Bruges as a guest in the first round. Such a result is certainly not ideal. Their form is very good, the league has achieved 8 consecutive victories. The team has now determined that both Messi and Verratti will play, which greatly improves their morale.

Manchester City

In the last round of the Champions League, Manchester City beat Leipzig 6-3 at home. Although they showed strong offensive power, they also had great defensive problems. They only conceded 1 goal in the next 3 games, including a 1-0 victory over rival Chelsea in the last round of away games. Morale was high.

Verdict:

Manchester City's strength and state are better. The 1X2 first odds is 2.90-3.60-2.30, which means support the away team. Manchester City should win this game.

Juventus vs Chelsea

09/29/2021 15:00

Juventus

Juventus are aiming to claim their fourth victory in five matches across all competitions. Juventus currently stand better on goals difference as they notched three unanswered goals past Malmo FF two weeks ago in Sweden. After failing to win each of their opening four Serie A matches, They will go into this off the back of two straight 3-2 league wins over Speziatand Sampdoria. Juventus have not kept a clean sheet since the start of the season in the Serie A.

Chelsea

Chelsea began their defence of the Champions League with a slender 1-0 victory over Zenit St Petersburg earlier this month. Chelsea suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday away at Manchester City. Before that, they shared a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in England League Cup. Chelsea shipped just two goals in six Premier League games this season.

Prediction

Chelsea have enjoyed an exceptional resurgence under Thomas Tuchel. Though they got a defeat last time out, Chelsea should still be considered as a formidable force both offensively and defensively. Therefore, expect they secure a slender victory.

Manchester United vs Villarreal

09/29/2021 15:00

Manchester United

Manchester United suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat to Young Boys in their opening Group F encounter, thus they sit last in their Champions League group now. Manchester United came from the 0-1 lose at Old Trafford to West Ham United in the EFL Cup before they were beaten by Aston Villa on Saturday.

Villarreal

Villarreal extended their unbeaten record across all competitions to seven matches, when they played out a goalless draw away at Spanish giants Real Madrid last weekend. This was their fifth draw of the season, from six games played, which leaves them reeling in the 11th spot in La Liga. Villarreal are currently unbeaten in their last 16 European matches across both the Europa League.

Prediction

Manchester United have a poor record against Villarreal in the Champions League, having failed to win any of their last seven matches against them. Given their recent states, expect Villarreal can win with the handicap.

PSG vs Manchester City

The Champions League group stage delivers arguably the most exciting fixture in the European schedule right now as Ligue 1 side PSG host reigning Premier League champions Manchester City in an 8pm BST kick-off at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday night. Both of these sides are widely considered as two of the favourites to lift the trophy come the end of the season but who will strike a psychological blow in this one?

PSG might have made waves with their summer signings of Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Georginio Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi, and Danilo Pereira but it's been a low key start to their campaign so far. Mauricio Pochettino's men drew their first group game in this competition in a 1-1 draw away to Belgian First Division A side Club Brugge and suffered a 1-0 loss to reigning Ligue 1 champions Lille in the Trophee des Champions. It has been more positive in the league though with 8 wins from 8 matches. It is anticipated that we could see Messi start up front with Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in what is potentially the most lethal attacking line in the history of club football. It is a concern that PSG are on a bit of a rut in this competition having lost 3 of their last 4 matches.

Manchester City face another tough challenge as they head to Paris but Pep Guardiola will be pleased that his team started their Champions League campaign with a dominant 6-3 win over Bundesliga team RB Leipzig in their first group stage fixture. The Citizens have also had moments of weakness show through with the 1-0 loss to Leicester in the FA Community Shield and the 1-0 defeat away to Tottenham in their opening league game of the season proof that they are far from unbeatable. City could be without Ilkay Gundogan for this game but they have plenty of other options to draft in. The team will take heart from the victories both home and away against PSG in last year's semi-final of this competition. It's 6 wins from their last 7 matches in this competition as well so they'll be buzzing with self-belief.

These two sides have met five times in European competition with PSG recording no wins against Manchester City. Both clubs were taken over by rich investors with the Abu Dhabi United Group taking over Manchester City in 2008 and Qatar Sports Investment seizing control of PSG in 2011. A lot has happened since but the French side still haven't worked out how to defeat their English counterparts. I wouldn't be surprised if PSG failed to get the win here again.

Porto vs Liverpool

The second preview I'm doing for the Champions League matches on Tuesday night is the clash between Portuguese Primeira Liga club Porto and Premier League side Liverpool in an 8pm BST kick-off at the Estadio do Dragao. Both of these teams picked up their first points of the competition in the opening round and the opportunity is here to extend their totals and take a step closer to qualification for the last 16.

Porto might have suffered disappointment last season at losing out on the Primeira Liga title to Sporting CP but this season there is hope that they can bounce back. The 0-0 draw away to Atletico Madrid in the opening round of matches was impressive and even though Sergio Conceicao's team are 2nd and 4 points behind Benfica in the league they do remain unbeaten in domestic competition. This is still a largely unchanged Porto side, minus Danilo Pereira who departed for PSG in the summer, from the one that stormed to the Champions League Quarter-Finals last season and were only stopped in their tracks by eventual winners Chelsea. New signing Pepe from Gremio could be one to watch in this game as the home side look to pick up their first win of the group.

Liverpool come into this game licking their wounds after a shock 3-3 draw against newly promoted Brentford in the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp expressed his dismay at the Reds' defensive display in that game that saw them drop 2 points in what is already clearly becoming an intense title battle on the domestic front. It was better news in this competition with Liverpool running out as 3-2 winners at home against Italian club AC Milan in their first group game. It was a superb effort for the Merseysiders after coming in at half-time 2-1 down. It was Liverpool who beat Porto 6-1 on aggregate in the 2018/19 Champions League Quarter-Finals so they have every reason to be confident heading into this match.

If you're a Porto fan then you might want to look away as we peak at the head-to-head statistics with Liverpool. The English side not only shattered the Portuguese club's dreams in this competition a couple of years back but they are also unbeaten against Porto in 8 meetings including keeping 5 clean sheets. It's a rather one-sided relationship. I was certain Liverpool would get the job done in a business-like manner before this weekend but that performance against Brentford has me concerned. Porto are worth the double chance at that price.

Benfica vs Barcelona

Benfica is on a good track to returning the Primeira Liga trophy to Estadio da Luz, as they booked all seven victories so far. Jorge Jesus’ side has been impeccable in the domestic championship, and they are four points ahead of the defending champions Sporting and Porto. Roman Yaremchuk and Darwin Nunez combined for eight goals so far, while Benfica scored a league-high 19 goals. The Eagles conceded only four goals, but they failed to keep the clean sheet on the previous two occasions. Benfica opened the Champions League campaign with a goalless draw in Kyiv, and they were lucky to get back home undefeated. They want to challenge for the 2nd spot on the table, and this match could be key for them.

We can say the same for Barcelona, as the away side suffered a heavy 3:0 defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stage opener. They have been struggling lately but managed to end their three-match winless streak with a 3:0 victory over Levante last weekend. There are many speculations around Ronald Koeman’s future in the club, and Barcelona might get a new head coach. The away side is five points behind Real Madrid, but they have one game in hand. Memphis Depay and the lads have struggled in front of the oppositions’ net, and Barcelona spilled too many points in draw matches. The visitors need to go for a victory in this one if they want to keep realistic chances to secure a playoffs spot.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Barcelona has been dealing with a lot of problems lately, and we won’t be surprised if Benfica takes advantage of that. The hosts are in a much better momentum, and we believe they will snatch at least a point from this clash.

Goals Market Prediction

Head-to-head clashes between these two sides have not been so efficient, but they haven’t met since 2012. Benfica has been excellent in the front lately, while Barcelona will try to score at least once. Therefore, we don’t think either side will keep the clean sheet.

Juventus vs Chelsea

The home side’s fans were under great stress again last weekend, but Juventus beat Sampdoria 3:2. Bianconeri tied two wins for the first time this season, as they were better than Spezia last Wednesday. However, Massimiliano Allegri’s team doesn’t enjoy its Serie A campaign, as they celebrated just twice in six rounds. Juventus is already ten points behind Napoli, and they have a tough task to get back in the title race. Nevertheless, Federico Chiesa and the lads opened the Champions League campaign with a 3:0 victory over Malmo on the road. They want to keep their run going and get closer to securing a place in the knockout stage.

Chelsea heads to this game after suffering a narrow 1:0 defeat against Manchester City. Thomas Tuchel’s side didn’t manage to beat their rivals for the fourth time in a row and missed the chance to stay at the top of the Premier League. The Blues are now one point behind Liverpool, and it should be a super exciting title battle in England this season. Thiago Silva and the lads conceded just twice this season, and they are very disciplined in the back. Chelsea was successful in the opening round in the Champions League, as they celebrated a narrow 1:0 victory against Zenit. They want to get back home with another three points and keep the top spot in the group.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Juventus has been very inconsistent so far, while Chelsea suffered just one defeat so far. The hosts have many troubles against weaker sides, while the Blues are very hard to crack. Therefore, we think the visitors might celebrate in this match.

Goals Market Prediction

Juventus has been involved in many efficient matches recently, while Chelsea’s games usually stay under a 2.5 margin. The hosts will have a challenging task to score against a very disciplined opponent’s defense, and we shouldn’t see more than two goals in total in this encounter.

Juventus vs Chelsea

The Champions League action continues on Wednesday night and my first preview covers the clash between Italian Serie A side Juventus and reigning winners of this competition Chelsea from Group H in an 8pm BST kick-off from the Allianz Arena in Turin. Both sides began their European campaigns with victories in their opening round of games but can either side make it 2 wins from 2?

Juventus have endured a slow start to their league campaign with returning head coach Massimiliano Allegri failing to win his first 4 league games. Results are starting to pick up now with the Old Lady unbeaten in their last 4 competitive matches. The team secured a convincing 3-0 win away to Swedish club Malmo in their first group game but even though the team have scored 3 goals in 3 of their last 4 matches their defence still appears fragile with just 1 clean sheet coming in their first 7 matches in all competitions. The pair of Alvaro Morata and Paulo Dybala are set to miss out through injury so it remains to be seen if we'll see a Juventus team with such attacking intent as we have in their past few games.

Chelsea head into this game in excellent form both domestically and on the European front. The Blues have only lost 1 of their 9 competitive matches so far this season. Unfortunately, that solitary loss did come in their most recent game in a 1-0 home defeat to Premier League title rivals Manchester City. Head coach Thomas Tuchel has built this current Chelsea side on a foundation of defensive stability but City showed on the weekend that despite Chelsea's fine recent form they do remain a beatable side. A number of key players are missing for this game including N'Golo Kante, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, and Reece James so it'll be a big test for those players making the journey to Italy. A narrow 1-0 win in their opening game against Zenit St Petersburg showed another fine defensive display and they'll want a repeat of that here.

I'm torn about this one. I think Chelsea have some big names missing that could severely hamper the system Tuchel is playing. Kante and Mount in particular have played such a vital role in making the system work. However, the defence is largely unaffected and if they can hold tight then they stand every chance of getting something from this game. I just think both sides have big guns absent and it'll result in a cautious game where neither side will be overly disappointed if they draw.

Manchester United vs Villarreal

The second game from my previews of the Champions League action on Wednesday night is the Group F encounter between Premier League side Manchester United and Spanish La Liga club Villarreal in an 8pm BST kick-off from Old Trafford. This is a rematch of the Europa League Final from last season that saw the Spaniards prevail as winners on penalties after a closely fought game in normal time.

Manchester United are going through one of their dodgy spells with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. They are almost becoming like clockwork. He gets the fans all hyped and singing "Ole's at the wheel" before losing to teams like Young Boys and Aston Villa. The Red Devils did indeed lose their opening group game of this competition by a 2-1 score to the Swiss minnows and it's now 3 losses from their last 4 matches across all competitions. Not even the heroics of Cristiano Ronaldo can protect this United team from Solskjaer's complete incompetence as a tactical manager. Harry Maguire being absent is a huge blow with Luke Shaw also a doubt. Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Marcus Rashford are both also unavailable.

Villarreal are hoping that they can come back and haunt United fans once again after their Europa League triumph last season. Head coach Unai Emery has always been a specialist in that competition but he's never transferred that success to the Champions League. The Spanish club have become draw experts this season having drawn 7 of their 8 competitive matches so far including a 2-2 stalemate at home to Italian Serie A side Atalanta in their first group game in this competition. The Yellow Submarine are down in 11th place in the league but remain unbeaten. The big blow for them here is that star striker Gerard Moreno is set to miss out through injury and Francis Coquelin is also unavailable.

Once again, both teams are missing players that can really make a difference. I'd have been worried about that Manchester United defence without Maguire but with Moreno absent I think we'll see a far less potent Villarreal. The draw specialists will surely set up to play for a point here and I wouldn't be surprised if this game took a special moment from Cristiano Ronaldo or Bruno Fernandes to separate the two sides. It's games like this where those players shine.

RB Salzburg v Lille: 20 points on Salzburg to win the race to 7 corners at 15/8 Sky Bet.

Salzburg corners something of a standing dish for me. I was thinking I'd have the small amount allowed on this and the rest on the straight >6 corners at 13/8 but 365 went and surprised me by accepting all of the requested stake. Hopefully this isn't a night where RBS get out-cornered by their opponents.
